Bavaro Princess Resort And Hotel - Description

Description
Bavaro Princess Resort and Hotel offers something for everyone, from bright lights to those that prefer the great outdoors. Hosting 750 suites in 86 bungalow-style accommodations, this hotel is sprawled across 92 tropical acres. The lush gardens and and rainforests feature a mini zoo and mini club for kids ages 4-12. Birdwatchers will be flying especially high while strolling along one of the Ecological pathways where they can stop and check out fair-feathered friends in the birdhouse. Birdies of another kind can be found 20 minutes away at the Cocotal Golf & Country Club. The Punta Cana Shopping Center is next door and Bavaro provides a free shuttle service to the casino that's two minutes away.

The air-conditioned rooms feature two double or a king-sized bed and a separate living and dining area neatly accented with tropical rattan furnishings. The all-inclusive plan includes meals, non-motorized water sports and unlimited national and imported drinks, plus their house wine. Hopefully you'll be able to find something to eat with six restaurants ranging from the La Hispaniola buffet-style restaurant to the lakefront gourmet restaurant. Afterwards there's always the disco or you can spend a quiet and romantic evening at Chopin, the piano bar. Perhaps most readily available at Bavaro are ways to relax. So when you're done exploring all that Bavaro has to offer, kick back at one of the two pools, have a massage at the spa and be treated like royalty.

We didn't want to leave! 4.0 stars

Five of us (from Pennsylvania, USA) stayed here from May 11th to 16th, 2008. We booked through Susan Judd at Berwick Travel. She was very helpful and took care of all our travel needs.

We stayed in three Platinum Suites (793, 795 and 796). I would highly recommend the upgrade to Platinum Club. Margarita, Anna and Juan were great to deal with.

On Sunday night, we booked the entire week for the time we wanted each night. We ate at Licey (no charge, included with Platinum upgrade), Tanuki, Chopin and Bella Pasta. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Food selection was very good, while both buffets had chefs preparing fresh food (to your order) in addition to all the staged buffet food.

Drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and specialty coffees at the Platinum Lounge were consumed daily. The no-charge stocked mini-bar and liquor in the room was a nice convenience, too.

Lehandro, our VIP representative was on-site, and very knowledgeable. He took care of scheduling our transfers back to the airport. We also booked a 4-wheeler excursion with him. We all had a great time 4-wheeling in the country-side.

The weather was great. We had about 15 seconds of rain (light shower) the whole week. The ocean and beach were awesome - no words could describe them, you must see!

Overall, I would highly recommend Bavaro Princess. We didn’t experience anything negative here.

We just returned from our stay at the Bavaro Princess, and every thing was great. However, when we entered our room, it stank from mold. It was so bad that we requested to be moved.

They moved us, but we encountered the same problem. I found that it was the air conditioning unit spewing the smell. We did not use the AC.

However, we loved the stay anyway, and are going back in December 2007.

If you like being treated rudely, poor service and severe cramps and diarreha, then this is the place for you. I would not recommend any place in the Dominican Republic as I have heard similar complaints from people at surrounding resorts. There are so many beautiful beaches to see and this one would be too if it weren't littered with trash from the guests..i can see similar beaches here in Texas! By far, the worst place I've ever been. This was my honeymoon turned into a nightmare! We paid extra for "honeymoon extras" that we never got! Good Luck if you stay here!

I stayed at the Bavaro Princess July 23 - July 27 with a group of friends and family members - totaling 14 people. This particular group travels annually, and therefore, knows what to expect from different types of cultures.

As with any third world country or Caribbean island, you would expect the low water pressure - sometimes lack of hot water. You might also expect the ocassional bugs due to the humidity of the island.

But through it all, the Bavaro Princess stay was one of the most pleasurable vacations most of us have ever encountered.

The grounds were immaculate, and the rooms and other entertainment/activity areas were just fabulous.

There were mixed feelings about certain restaraunts, but we all felt "The Chopin" international buffet was delightful. The "Outback Safari Tour" we took was a "not to miss" excursion that made our Dominican Republic stay feel a little more complete.

I would recommend both this area and resort to anyone.
