If you're looking for a room with a view, this is the place for you. There are excellent views of the Caribbean Sea from nearly every room in the house. Imagine lying in bed in the morning with a cup of coffee or a mimosa and watching the sun come up over the water—it's like magic. If you like to cook, you may never notice the view. The kitchen is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances that will inspire you to new heights behind the stove or the grill. There are a number of top beaches within a few minutes of the estate, or you can just relax in the pool and let your mind carry you out to sea.
Villa Description
Guests will be captivated the moment they enter Cabrita Cliff Haus's entry foyer. The pool just outside expands to an ocean vista featuring a panorama of Current Cut, St. John, and Great St. James. Around the point are Great Bay and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel & Club, and prestigious Water Point. Cabrita Cliff Haus offers five air-conditioned bedroom suites on two levels, all under one roof, each with its own balcony or patio overlooking sea views.
On the main level, the Great Room takes center stage. Set with custom furnishings from Indonesia and canopied by high cypress ceilings, 16-foot glass pocket doors bring the vistas inside and extend this large living space out to a sheltered veranda swept by fresh sea breezes, perfect for cocktails and alfresco dining. Conveniently adjacent is the formal dining room and the well-equipped gourmet kitchen. The granite and mahogany kitchen is a cook's dream, equipped with appliances, cookware, dinnerware, and chef's tools. The Great Room, kitchen, and dining room are fully air-conditioned.
Down a hallway on the opposite side of the entry foyer is the powder room and two air-conditioned king bedroom/bath suites: the Antilles Suite and the Africa Suite. Soundproof glass slider doors in these two suites open to a balcony (which leads to the pool) perched just above the ocean's edge, where the sweep of waves over the rocky shore serenades you. The Antilles Suite offers a master bath finished with Rosa Verona Italian marble, custom mahogany cabinetry, a Jacuzzi tub, and a separate shower. Below via an interior staircase is Cabrita Cliff Haus's lower level where the Asia, Australian, and Americas Suites and the media room are found, as well as access to the double garage and laundry area.
The air-conditioned media room is furnished with chocolate leather sofas surrounding a 63-inch flat-screen TV with satellite, DVD player, and movies. This room is completed by a wet bar with a mini-fridge and a home office area, where you'll find a HP computer with Wi-Fi and an all-in-one printer and fax machine. The comfortable queen sleep sofa in the media room can accommodate one or two more guests.
Next door is the Asia Suite with a seaside balcony graced by a hand carved greenstone statue of Buddha. The Australian and America's Cup Suites are accessed by a spiral staircase descending from the pool deck above. The secluded Australian Suite is truly "down under," tucked away and flanked by a private covered veranda overlooking Current Cut. From this veranda, large double wooden doors open onto the covered patio of the America's Cup Suite next door. This Suite is a roomy air-conditioned apartment with a living/dining area (there's a full sleep sofa in the living area, perfect for small kids), a full kitchen, and a king bedroom/bath. The America's Cup Suite may also be entered via a private exterior staircase from the front of the property. The Australian and America's Cup Suites could be the ideal two-bedroom setup for a family with children and a nanny.
Cabrita Cliff Haus offers one of the best views on St. Thomas, surveying the wide expanse of sparkling seas and green islands-a backdrop to the entertaining pageant of yachts, power boats, and kite surfers gliding through Current Cut by day, and the twinkling lights of St. John and The Ritz-Carlton by night. This custom home is finished with arched mahogany doors, vaulted cypress ceilings, and teak furnishings specially made in Indonesia to the owners' specifications; travertine marble floors enhance the aura throughout. Rental Note:
1 to 8 guests have use of the Antilles, Africa, Asia, and Australia suites only. 9 to 10 guests may also have the use of the America's Cup Suite. *11th, 12th, 13th and/or 14th guests sleep on the queen sofabed in the media room on the villa's lower level, AND/OR on the full sofabed in the living area of the America's Cup Suite.
Cabrita Cliff Haus has been "going green." 22 solar-energy panels have been installed on the property, and all air-conditioning units in the villa have been changed, incorporating the latest energy-efficient models.
