Club Bonito - Description

Description
Club Bonito, on the Samana Peninsula, offers a Caribbean escape to a novel-like setting in the unspoiled Caribbean.

Las Galeras, where Club Bonito is located, is a small fishing village on the as yet undiscovered Rincon Bay, ranked as having one of the top 10 beaches in the Caribbean, with its spectacular panorama of quiet beaches and reefs, rimmed by cliffs and palm covered hills. It is the unspoiled Caribbean at its best with only a few small hotels on the bay. Every year from February to April, as an added rare attraction, 4,500 humpback whales calve and mate in the Samana Bay!

"Santa-Fe" styled Club Bonito is an elegant family owned beach hotel; with its beautiful decor, and Japanese fish pond, it has been called "An Oasis of Good Taste". The proprietors have combined their experiences in North America, Europe, Africa and Japan for an international
atmosphere of hospitality, decor and dedication to personalized service.

The Club expanded to include 21 large deluxe rooms which are all elegantly decorated. Fifteen of these have air-conditioning and an ocean view while the remaining 6 enjoy a garden view. There are also 4 luxury rooms which include a Jacuzzi, bar, refrigerator, air-conditioning and an ocean view. All rooms include a telephone and a wall safe.

The two bars (including Karaoke), and international restaurant overlook the panorama of the Rincon Bay and a beach where fish and lobsters are bought daily from the fisherman. It is a Club because of the ambience of membership and the proprietor's commitment to make your holidays meet your expectations. Conference facilities are also available for small groups, families and other social activities.

Club Bonito caters to clients who want to escape the larger resorts overwhelmed by tourists and experience a real Caribbean adventure. It provides a privacy with options to a variety of activities. Through the Club, excursions are organized to secluded beaches by boat, horseback, and on foot. Jogging and hiking is offered along several kilometers of spectacular tropical coast. Recreational facilities in the area include scuba diving, fishing, snorkeling, and horseback riding. Just added, are conference facilities available for group activities and meetings.

This was an excellent quiet getaway. 5.0 stars

Club Bonito, Dominican Republic hotel review Visited: November 2005

The hotel was located right on the beach and had large, clean, and beautifully decorated rooms. During my stay, there was a German modeling agency doing a photo shoot right on the hotel grounds - it was that beautiful!

They provided a great complimentary breakfast which I filled up on every morning while looking out over the pool, across the beach, onto the rolling surf. It was an ideal way to start off a day of scuba diving, fishing, trekking, horseback riding or just vegging on the beach, all of which I did with the invaluable assistance of the hotel's concierge Nico.

I experienced great diving with Punta Ballena Dive Center. It was about 2 1/2 hour taxi from Puerto Plata, but the drive was georgous and it was a great introduction to the Dominican Republic. In addition, there was no sign of crime or issues about safety in this beautiful small fishing village.

I highly recommend this hotel and suggest the sooner you visit, the better. This area was so much more beautiful than all the other touristy areas along the north coast that I fear it will not be long before this beautiful, quiet, small town becomes an overdeveloped tourist mecca.

This was the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in.

You cannot beat waking up to a view of palm trees and the ocean!
In addition, the staff at Club Bonito was extremely friendly and helpful.

Thanks to everyone for a great vacation!

We stayed here over the new year with our two young children. Everything was great, well organized, relaxed, and with nice rooms and friendly staff.

If you want to escape the high intensity and kick back a bit - this place for you!
