Description
There is a little gem on the beach in Negril and if you like quaint, romantic hideaways, you will fall in love with Firefly. This is a discreet clothes-optional property, and children are welcome.
The staff is very friendly and you will no doubt meet an interesting group of guests during your stay here. Everyone seems to have so much fun it is difficult to tell who is staff and who are guests! There is no restaurant here but a light breakfast is available and the bar is reasonably priced, relaxed and inviting. Excellent restaurants are close by, within walking distance up or down the beach.
With only 19 units there are 9 types of rooms available, from luxury beachfront Penthouse Suites to one bedroom Cottage or Studios to moderate Studios. All have ceiling fans, most have air-conditioning. All units have a complete kitchen and dining area. If you're lucky you can sometimes catch a fisherman selling lobster or snapper on the beach nearby. Some cabins have a loft or second bedroom. All are rustic yet comfortable and romantic, all have patios or verandas.
The tropical gardens are home to hummingbirds, flowers and fresh fruits. The cabins are stucco and timber and there is an adorable Victorian style building that houses the suites and penthouses. The feeling is very private upon your veranda surrounded by shade trees, singing birds and flowers.
Snorkeling is good right off the beach. A wide variety of watersports are available up and down the beach. Guests may use the facilities at Swept Away (modest daily fee) for tennis, gym, aerobics, sauna, and pool. The staff will help you arrange trips to local attractions.
This beautiful property is often photographed and the warmth of the place has to be experienced to be believed. Firefly seems to capture the essence of this funloving and romantic little resort village.

I came to Firefly for the fifth time last month and, as with all the times before, I loved it and didn't want to leave.
Firefly must be the most relaxing place on earth. It's the perfect getaway for a busy New Yorker. I love the quaint cottages, friendly staff, laid back beach bar and spectacular beach! I've traveled all over the world and have yet to see a beach that rivals Negril.
Each time I've stayed at Firefly I've stayed in a different room. Each one is unique and charming. What I like is that all the rooms have their own kitchen, so I can cook if I choose to, and they are always spotlessly clean.
However, I always spend most of my time relaxing on the beach with a good book or swimming in the crystal clear water of the Caribbean Sea.
Just writing this makes me long to return. I can't wait for the next trip to Firefly!

My husband and I brought in the new year at this idyllic spot on the beach.
Firefly was a beautiful spot with lovely flowers everywhere. We saw hummingbirds right outside our balcony. We were able to totally unwind and relax both in our clean, well appointed room, and on the beach or at the beach bar.
Breakfast and coffee at the bar were a must, and it was a pleasure to be served by smiling and sociable staff.
I would highly recommend Firefly. It is something everyone should experience. Once you do, you will probably go back again, like many of the guests who were there when I was.

We recently returned from an eight-night stay at the Firefly, and it was fabulous.
During our stay, we wanted to renew our wedding vows. I couldn't beleive how much the staff went out of their way to make my special day perfect. The staff here was awesome - the security, housekeeping, and the bartender (Shawn).
This was our first trip to Jamaica, and after lots of research we chose the Firefly from its testimonials for the best romantic vacation. We are so happy we did!
We stayed in unit #18, the penthouse with ocean view. It was perfect. The views from all directions were beautiful. We walked the beach every day.
We though the Firefly was located in a perfect spot. It was just a two-minute walk to Margaritaville or any restaurant or watersport. It was all nice and close by.
We wanted to try snorkeling. The firefly staff recommended Dr. Bill's Glass Bottom Boat for this. We ended up going with him two times because he did such a fantastic job.
If you need anything, don't be afraid to ask the staff. They were very helpful. We did go to Mayfield Falls and Roaring Rivers. Firefly recommended Mr. Jerry (who was a great guy). However, we went with someone else and had a great time, too, but Mr. Jerry does offer a cheaper deal than what we paid.
We did have Mr. Jerry pick us up and bring us back to the airport for $100 (for two people). I thought the fare was a good deal. He also took us sightseeing so I could take a lot of pictures of the island. So if you need someone to pick you up, just let Firefly know, and they will make the arrangements.
Thank you to all the Firefly staff and owners. We had an outstanding time, and will never forget it. We will definitely be back in the future.

We spent five days in Firefly Beach Cottages, and we felt very welcomed here.
The surroundings of this charming hotel were like a beautiful quiet garden with many plants and trees around the cottages and bungalows. That's why we really enjoyed the place.
The beach was nice, and one can have delicious pancakes in the morning.
The owner, Joan, was very nice. She will do all she can to help you achieve what you intend to do.
