If you're on your first, second or twelfth honeymoon, Fletch's Cove is perfect. It's small enough that you won't feel lost, but at 1,700 square feet, there's plenty of space to stretch out. There's a small, secluded beach right on the property. There's also 1 bedroom and a generous 2.5 baths for 2 people. Readers love the complete privacy - you can even sunbathe in the nude - and one says that the villa has 'the best view on the island.' They also appreciate the great service (maid every day except Saturdays and holidays) and, as one puts it, 'lots of lush landscaping.' But what pushes this place over the top is the bright, terra cotta colored materials throughout that give the home a feeling of warmth and class. Villa Description
Fletch's Cove is a one-bedroom villa that was designed with an eye to maximizing great views and comfortable, casual living, both indoors and out. Whether enjoying a meal, lounging on a sofa or lying in bed, stunning views of the ocean and surrounding islands are all around.
The Living and Dining Rooms can be completely opened to the Terrace simply by retracting a set of folding doors. Just as easily, they can be closed again should a sudden shower appear. There are ceiling fans in every room and carefully placed louvered windows which take advantage of the prevailing easterly winds.
The decor is decidedly rustic, combining Saltillo tile floors with rough plastered walls, heavy wood beams, Mexican pottery and furnishings and hand crafted Asian hardwoods.
The air conditioned Master Bedroom suite, with its solid oak floors, occupies the entire second level. French glass doors open onto a large balcony, ideal for lounging, sunbathing or, in the evening, taking in the lights of St. Martin.
There is a cabana located off the pool deck. It is furnished with a full size sofabed, shower and toilet.
For dining, there is a dining room and a terrace. There is also a fully equipped kitchen.
The villa is 60ft from the beach. There is a barrier reef a mile off shore that protects the area from large waves and provides an eco-system rich in marine life.
Although centrally located and not far from many popular beaches and restaurants, Fletch's Cove is set in quiet, private surroundings. The sound of surf, wind and the occasional Zenaida (turtle dove) are likely to be your only disturbances.
