Atop Blackbeard's Hill, this little boutique hotel offers the perfect mix of gorgeous Charlotte Amalie harbor views, proximity to town and shopping(five minutes away on foot ), plus secluded privacy provided by the surrounding flamboyant, banana trees and bushy hibiscus. Accommodations range from a roomy, top floor junior suite with a king bed to a balcony room with queen bed and full kitchen, or larger garden rooms with two queen beds. All rooms have individual air conditioners, free local call telephones, refrigerators, microwave ovens, and coffee makers. Free use of beach towels. Guests have access to washers and dryers. There's also a picnic area with a gas barbeque grill. The managing couple live on the property and are very helpful in giving restaurant, sightseeing or beach suggestions. Green Iguana is a great small hotel.

First impressions matter. Normally, when you arrive at a hotel you have to check in first. Not here! You are shown to your room, and told to check in once you have settled in.

It only gets better from there. When you go to check in, you are greeted with a free ice cold beer and a very warm welcome from John and Gwen. If you want to know anything - just ask them. Their restaurant and all other recommendations were spot on.

The location was fine. The 99 steps to town were fine going down. If you're not too fit, a taxi back up for four people was only $20.

We stayed in H1 and H2, and had huge balconies with a table and chairs. We enjoyed the great views of the harbor.

We would not stay anywhere else in St. Thomas.

This is such a cozy St. Thomas hotel.

Forget the standard touristy hotels, and experience The Green Iguana.

They have spacious rooms, an interesting layout, spectacular views, and managers Gwen and John make you feel right at home.

From a happy hour welcome and arranging transportation, to restaurant recommendations and the care they give to the property and the guests, Gwen and John are wonderful.

The experience of staying at the Green Iguana is a breath of fresh air!

The Green Iguana is a very clean and comfortable small hotel.

Also, the managers, John and Gwen, were so friendly and helpful. On our arrival we had wine and beer in their office and they gave us all the info. we needed to make our stay a great experience. It felt like home!

It was a great starting place for a sailing trip, and then so comfortable to return here for two more days .
