With its spacious and open floor plan, Luminaria is ideal for 2-3 couples, families with children over age 6, and even wedding parties. Situated on a hilltop that borders the Virgin Islands National Park, the villa comes with some of the best views on St. John. Its proximity to the park also means that guests can enjoy the hiking trails and beaches that lie within. The home itself has 3 large bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, private baths for each bedroom, and an expansive deck with a pool and hot tub. Restaurants and shops are just 10-20 minutes away by car.
Villa Description
Luminaria is a unique hilltop villa bordering the VI National Park, and it has 3 air-conditioned bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. A pool with waterfall, a Jacuzzi, 270-degree views, and landscaping complete this property.
The mountaintop setting and views are considered one of the finest in the Caribbean. With its extensive sliding glass doors and oversized windows, the views can be enjoyed from practically every room. Luminaria is also in close proximity to North Shore beaches, and yet is only 20 minutes to the Cruz Bay ferry dock. This is a terrific villa for honeymooners, couples, families, and/or weddings.
Bounded by the VI National Park, the North Shore beaches are easily accessible, as is Annaberg Plantation and snorkeling in the Leinster Bay/Watermelon Cay areas. Coral Bay is also easily accessible, with its growing number of restaurants, shops, and seasonal night-life.
Luminaria is gated with a spacious floor plan. The Great Room has cathedral ceilings and wall-to-wall sliding glass doors that open onto wraparound decks with views of the Caribbean Sea. Ceiling fans and year round trade winds will keep you cool and comfortable.
There is an entertainment center with Video Library, Satellite Tivo-style TV, VCR, DVD, CD/cassette, a wet bar with an ice maker, and lots of fun games as well.
The Relax and Renew area, decorated with comfortable furniture is a tranquil place, great for reading, quiet reflection, or a mid-afternoon nap.
Luminaria's glass dining table seats 6-8 and overlooks Coral Bay. The large modern gourmet kitchen is equipped for preparing everything from snacks to large meals. A telephone/fax and answering machine are provided, and a washer/dryer and a half-bath are located off the kitchen.
The kitchen opens onto a covered dining veranda for casual meals with a gas barbecue grill, a table for 6, and views.
A third dining experience can be enjoyed from the wraparound deck on the main level. Down-island views enhance this setting.
A hot tub is also located on this main deck directly off the living room with views of Coral Bay.
The main floor master bedroom has huge picture windows overlooking a tropical garden and the Caribbean Sea. Sliding glass doors open onto a private deck, just right for enjoying an early morning sunrise or late afternoon champagne. The king-size bed is comfortable, and there is an adjoining master bath with an oversized shower area.
Downstairs, there is a den and two bedrooms with private baths. The den offers a second entertainment area with satellite TV, DVD, and VCR. It also has a queen sleeper sofa.
Tropical gardens surround the exterior stairway which links the upper deck to the poolside area and lower level bedrooms.
Another king bedroom, called Bliss, has sliding glass doors that open onto a large deck with Coral Bay views.
The third bedroom, Island Dream, reflects Caribbean charm with its cool colors. This bedroom offers a pool view and a bed that can be made up as twins or a king. Through the sliding glass doors, you will enjoy pool views and the waterfall.
Each lower level bedroom at Luminaria has an ensuite bathroom with glass block shower and glass tile countertops. The bath connected to Island Dream also has direct pool deck access.
A large patio comes with a wet-bar and fridge to keep beverages handy.
