St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort, Northeast Coast hotel review Visited: April 2011
Posted by jbryarly
We loved the St. Regis! We needed a place that didn't require a passport since ours expired this year. We had another couple join us and they had a fantastic time, too!
This resort has a stunning drive-up, beautifully appointed lobby and very helpful staff. The property is filled with a maze of elevated decks that wind through the property from one building to the next.
We booked a standard room and it was perfect! It had its own private entry, walk-in closet and private patio with a comfortable love seat, a small table and two chairs. The bathroom was way bigger than mine at home complete with rain shower and giant tub. There was even a phone next to the toilet and a flat screen TV behind the mirror in the bathroom! I loved the bedroom's vaulted ceiling with dark stained wood beams. The bed was of course "heavenly".
There were paddle boards in the boat house, so we all gave that a try on a morning that looked like rain. It was surprisingly easy - no one fell in. Also at the boathouse were some bikes. We had fun cruising all over the property, down the golf course, around the villas, through the rain forest and to the beach.
We tried out the restaurant inside the golf clubhouse - great steaks and seafood. All four of us loved the dishes we tried. We also ate in the hotel lobby for lunch one day. I got the best salad I've ever had - avocado, shrimp and an amazing dressing. It was so delicious!
We headed into San Juan one night for dinner, and also booked one excursion - the bio-luminescent bay. It was amazing - I highly recommend it.
