Sunsail Colonna Club, Antigua hotel review Visited: April 2006

I really enjoyed my stay at Colonna. Anette, the deputy manager, helped my mum to have the best ever wedding at the top of the tower at Harmony Hall.
Barisa Chambers taught me to sail, and I will be a pink band when I go back.

This was well worth our ten-hour flight - warm sea water and great sailing facilities. However, the hotel was in need of decoration and updating - this let our holiday down.
Child care was really good and well thought through. Also, the staff was friendly and welcoming.

This was definitely a place worth visiting. My family had always wanted to visit the Caribbean, and when we discovered that Sunsail had a club here, we had to say yes!
The accommodation was not the best, but the resort made up for that with its atmosphere. And the Antiguan staff made our stay that much more enjoyable - so much that I only went in my room to sleep!
The kids' club (which I hid amongst many a time - I'm 17) was well run, and the enthusiasm of the leaders made it worthwhile. The island itself was stunning, and the people were so relaxed. There was also so much more on offer when you ventured out of the club, such as St. Johns, the capital of the island.
Two excursions I definitely recommend are the trip to Shirley Heights to watch the sunset, and the helicopter trip over Monserrsat, Antigua's nearest neighbor. Costing over £100 a head for a 50 minute flight is costly, but it is definitely worth the money and is a once-in-a -lifetime experience!
In all, it is a holiday not to be missed!

The accommodation was not of the highest standard, but this was made up for by the attitude of all the staff and the atmosphere of the resort, which was superb.
I had read a negative report of the diving, but found this was due to staffing problems in the past. During my stay, I found the new ultramarine management couldn't do enough for us. All equipment was excellent, the dive boat was a thrill in itself, and there was even organized scuba experiences for my two children (highly reccommended).
The kids clubs were also fantastic, and the food and entertainment were of excellent quality. I am looking forward to our return next year.
