I hated it here. 1.0 stars

I thought the staff was rude staff. I encountered drug dealers and locals pushing worthless junk on the beach.

Also, the drinks were watered down, and there was no fizz. Watch out for the bones in the food, too.

Bag handlers will chase you on the bus for a tip even if you don't want them to touch your bag. Bus drivers from the airport will take you to their relatives' place to buy junk or jerk chicken before taking you to the resort, too. It's a rip off - stay on the bus.

I have been to many resorts. I thought this one was dirty, and probably the worst resort I have ever been to.

We just got back from our worst vacation ever, and had the worst experience here.

We went to Breezes Resort & Spa Rio Bueno for three nights, and then Breezes Runaway Bay for seven nights. Our baggage was delayed until the next day. When we did get the baggage, all my husband's shirts were missing - and suit for dinner. It seemed to just get worse after that.

We couldn't wait to leave. Breezes Runaway Bay was down right dirty with mosquitoes flying when we were trying to sleep! There was one set of curtains, so if you come here, plan on sleeping with sun glasses because you can see people outside, and they can see you.

The bathroom was scary looking. The tub water didn't go down the drain.

The women's and men's restrooms were closed in lobby area, so people were directed to go around the corner to another hotel room that was so dirty.

After leaving Breezes, I needed a vacation from my vacation. We have been coming there ten years. It was our anniversary, and that's where we chose to go. I think from now on we will make better choices.

We did not have much of a honeymoon here. 1.0 stars

We just got back from our honeymoon, and had the worst experience.

Our reservations stated honeymoon with a king bed - and I told them "honeymoon" at check in. We got to our room and it had two beds (room one).

After getting a downgraded room, but a king bed, we woke up the next morning to water on the floor. Maintenance solved it by putting towels next to the wall so water could still leak everywhere (room number two).

After two times of going to the front desk, asking for the manager and never getting them, the front desk changed our room. Our third room had two twin beds that were pushed together to make one. So if you slept in the middle, you sank - not to mention the lovely view of a fence with barbed wire on top.

Saturday we got a note offering a free upgrade limited time if we responded by 9 am. We tried to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work. We turned in the paper before 9, and they told us to pack our stuff and be back at noon.

We came back, and they only had three rooms and gave out five upgrade papers, only the first three to turn in paper got the rooms. After talking to manager, she offered free massage and champagne. However, they never called us with massage times and no one else knew anything about it.

The manager totally ignored any concern I had. They did nothing special for us on our honeymoon...no upgrades, champagne, recognition, nothing! I have never been so happy to come home. I have traveled to many countries and this was by far the worst experience/vacation I have ever had!

I have wonderful memories of the hotel. 4.0 stars

The first year I was here was in 1986. That year they gave a beach jacket and a matching bag to all the guests. I have saved mine all these years.

I have been to this resort 12 times. The last time I was here was in 2005. They also gave a beautiful gift to all the guests.

I have been here several times a few days before a hurricane and/ or after a hurricane. I love this resort.

I know I will never be able to go back, so I will always keep the wonderful memories of the resort and of the wonderful staff throughout the years. Thank you!
