from the time you arrive you notice the clean and bright atmosphere. the staff is top notch very helpful. We had a room on the 17th floor overlooking the bay. we were greeted with complementary chocolates and water the first night. The room was very nice with all the accommodations. Would recommend it to anyone.
I stayed at the Westin St John for my honeymoon in May of 2008. Overall, it was a good experience, but the hotel is nowhere near your normal Westin or resort standards. I stayed in a traditional room facing the beach and the pool. If you are staying in a traditional room, I would recommend the 120s. Bed was comfortable. Carpet was stained . Showers was mediocre at best.
Hotel rooms are in significant need of an upgrade. It is likely staying in a bad holiday inn with upgraded fixtures. The food is incredibly expensive and the food on the resort is less than spectacular. Chloe and Bernard's is 2 star restaurant with 5 star prices. I would recommend heading into town for meals. We really enjoyed Paradiso.
The Westin in pool is one of the nicest I have been to. The pool bar is over priced and makes weak drinks.
WHY DO U SAY THERE IS A BEACH AND THERE IS NO BEACH? AND WHY DO U SHOW A PICTURE OF ANOTHER BEACH, ( ROYAL RESORTS CURACAO ) COME ON PEOPLE NO NEED TO LIE...
My husband and I stood at the ElConquistador in April. The private island is not private! Boats pull up to the beach and dock there and anyone can use the beach. There was a private party one night and the pool was closed to the guests of the hotel. Citigroup took over the pool and paying hotel guests were told to leave the pool. Forget about trying to get a drink at the poolside bar. You are ignored! You are treated as a nuisance rather than a guest of the hotel. We were pelted by plastic Easter eggs from hotel guests (brats) and when we called the front desk to tell them about it they said they had not been aware of this situation. I suggested that they go outside and look at the eggs on the ground and maybe try to send Security to look for the little darlings throwing the eggs. That was impossible was the answer I got. The food was overpriced. The guests of the hotel were all on ego trips and full of themselves. They should have paid as much attention to their little brats running around the hotel throwing plastic eggs at people and running around in circles at the bar as they did to primping and posing for eachother! It was an out of control day care center for over indulged adults who really have no clue as to what a nice vacation or hotel is.
