Xtabi Club Resort - Description

Description
If you want romantic, cozy, and quaint, then stay at one of the seaside cottages at Xtabi. The original cottages all have wonderful views of the ocean and are rustic yet comfortable and reasonably priced. The gardenside rooms are inexpensive and comfortable.

Xtabi is out on the West End of Negril on the cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea. As you enter the property the statues of lovers embraced amidst tropical gardens sets the mood. The large open-air bar is inviting and the staff is friendly. Getting to the sea is an adventure in itself. Steep steps lead down into cool caves carved by the sea, where you can snorkel out and explore the underwater world. There are also platforms for diving off the cliffs.

The seven seafront cottages are all unique and are often booked in advance. All have warm feeling wood interiors, and plenty of closet and living space. All feature porches or balconies. Showers are outside with privacy walls, for the feeling of getting back to nature. The floors are native wood and the furnishings are rustic yet comfortable. All rooms have safes, some have kitchenettes, many have refrigerators. Gardenside rooms are more modern, featuring tiled floors and air-conditioning.

The property is well landscaped with hibiscus and tropical plants. The restaurant has an open-air patio by the edge of the cliff. The food is moderately priced; lobster cooked the way you choose is $27.00US. This is a nice place to dine, even if you don't stay here. However, for the money, this is a very nice property.

I cannot recommend this resort until something is done about the management.

They canceled my reservation because I posted a comment on a private Internet forum about the door not closing and the condition of the pool on our last stay. That is very unprofessional.

You cannot get any closer to the ocean than Cottage 1. It's over top of the ocean. It's not the cleanest, or most updated, though.

The pool was not circulating at all the entire week we were here. It was like green swamp.

We moved to Garden Side 21 for only three nights, thankfully. There were too many dogs barking 24/7. Cottage 1 was mind blowing. We booked it again!

We spent two weeks at Xtabi Club Resort and we loved it.

The food, especially the Lobster Thermidor, was great. The staff and management was very helpful, and made our stay a great experience.

We loved it.

This is the worst hotel in Jamaica. 1.0 stars

This hotel is unbelievably bad. It is completely run down, and it is very dangerous.

All of the swim platforms to the sea are broken. Plus, there is a major highway (Lighthouse Road) nunning right through the middle of it. Lighthouse Road passes between the restaurant and the reception area, and carries tour buses, trucks, and speeding cars at all hours of the day and night.

Don't stay at this hotel. It is a complete ripoff.
