WHERETOSTAY.COM REPORTS 27% INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP SINCE LAUNCHING ONLINE SIGN-UP
-- Aims To Secure The Most Comprehensive Listing Of Worldwide Vacation Options --
DALLAS, TX (Jan. 3, 2006)—Since launching its online sign-up feature in October 2005, WhereToStay.com—the ultimate travel resource to all consumers searching for "where to stay" on their next vacation—has reported a 27% increase in hotel company membership. The online enrollment option was launched three months ago in an effort to offer every hotel, resort and villa around the world quick and easy access to feature placement on WhereToStay.com. Currently, WhereToStay.com features more than 55,000 properties from across the globe on its site for travelers to review and book vacations.
"The online sign-up feature has proved extremely successful as we continue to expand our membership to include our expansive list of worldwide vacation venues," said Thom Dunaway, founder and president of WhereToStay.com. "We are very pleased with our increase in membership and expect it to continue to grow at a rapid rate as more and more hotels and resorts realize the tremendous value of being featured on WhereToStay.com."
WhereToStay.com offers three distinct participation levels for hotels and resorts that seek to significantly bolster direct bookings, including: Platinum Membership ($30/month), Gold Membership ($20/month) and Silver Membership (free-of-charge).
"We are so confident that WhereToStay.com will generate referrals for members that by far offset the cost of membership that we send monthly reports showing how much activity a property had and how many people tried to contact them through our site," added Dunaway.
As a Platinum or Gold member, properties can post contact information, photos, promotions, descriptions, etc. to generate commission-free reservations (all referrals go directly to the property for booking). Platinum members are afforded additional benefits, such as a direct link to the property's booking engine and banner-free web page.
To help members keep track of people who have "clicked" their information pages within the web site, WhereToStay.com utilizes a dynamic database to track all page views, reservation requests and links to a specific property's URL—numbers that Platinum and Gold member hotel properties can access at any time. In addition, monthly reports are sent to member properties so they can see the value of being featured on WhereToStay.com.
In an effort to create the most comprehensive global list of "where to stay" on vacation, WhereToStay.com does not limit its accommodations listings strictly to Platinum and Gold members. Hotels around the world are invited and encouraged to be included on the website with a Silver Membership that allows hotels to post photos and limited property information free-of-charge.
"With an average of over 600,000 visitors each month, WhereToStay.com exposes more than 7 million potential guests to our members' information each year," said Andrew Macafee, vice president of Sales & Marketing, WhereToStay.com. "This kind of exposure is priceless for hoteliers looking to highlight their selling points to potential travelers and get direct bookings" he added.
