"These tips will help you do just that and stay sane in the process so you and your little ones can enjoy your vacation." 1. Take a Baby Bjorn for the Plane.
This is a great way to control an energetic infant, as well as keep him or her safe and cozy!

2. Surprise Toys
Kids love NEW toys. Hit the dollar aisle before you travel so you can pull out little surprises along the way.

3. Make a Packing and Shopping List.
Before you leave, list everything you could possibly need for your kids. (Things are pricey in the Caribbean if you can find them.) Also, be sure to check the island information website for island voltage, and bring adaptors if necessary. If staying in a villa, make a food list before you go. You can immediately get the shopping out of the way when you arrive and start enjoying your trip! OR, to make it even easier, request that the villa be pre-stocked with groceries prior to your arrival. That way, you can head straight to your villa without the hassle of stopping to grocery shop.

4. Limit Carry-Ons, but Take a Stroller to the Gate.
Take only what you need onto the plane and pack the rest—It's easier if you're juggling less. And a stroller allows you to get on and off the airplane without having to carry your heavy baby everywhere! Also, have your older children carry backpacks with wheels.

5. Get Up to Date on All Passport Rules.
Check the passport website before you travel and double-check all restrictions with regards to children's ages, expirations, etc. All Caribbean islands necessitate passports now except the US Virgin Islands (St. John, St. Thomas and St. Croix) and Puerto Rico.

6. Caribbean People Love Kids!
Always remember that Caribbean-ites adore children. Enjoy their compliments and never be afraid to ask for help.

7. Feed Baby a Bottle and Use a Pacifier While Taking Off.
The sucking action helps the baby's ears adjust to the airplane's ascension, and a full belly usually leads to a good nap! That's the goal, right?

8. Share the Load and Realize Time for Self is Limited.
Trips with children mean early mornings and shared responsibilities at the pool. Before you go, accept the fact that your kids need you and that you'll have to share the load. But here's a little unknown caveat: Babysitters are usually available on the islands, and it's a good (and probably welcome) idea for mom and dad to take advantage of them for a night or two. After all, this is your vacation!

9. If Your Kids Get Sick, Don't Panic!
You would be surprised how good the general medical care is in the Caribbean for those who can afford it. Pack medications, as well. But in the end, keep in mind that kids are also very resilient.

10. Purchase Travel and Emergency Evacuation Insurance.
At least invest in evacuation insurance—it takes any concern you may have out of your mind.
