They had a great beach, but lousy rooms. Visited: January 2006 Posted by bevmushinsky They had perhaps the nicest beach, which was shaded by palm trees. However, the rooms didn't seem to have been updated for ions - nothing matched, and it looked like the oven was removed from the kitchen area. We asked for a coffee maker, but they wanted $5 a day to supply it. It had great bones, but the room was a mish mash of old furnishings. We didn't even see the room, and we extended our stay! Visited: May 2005 Posted by great When we arrived at the Great House, we extended our stay by four days before we even saw our room. The welcome we received when we walked in made the choice easy. Thankfully not a huge hotel or resort, the Great House was quaint, the rooms were immaculate, and the property had gorgeous landscaping. Basically, it was wonderful. We loved how our room was like a small cottage, with a fabulous front porch. The beach was so close and gorgeous with comfy chairs, umbrellas and tables to put our stuff on. Also, the staff was so friendly and helpful with any questions we had regarding places to dine and directions to get anywhere. Anything we needed, they were right there to help. The restaurant's plantation style atmosphere was airy and looked onto the beach. They served exquisite food. We didn't have a single complaint. It was glorious, and we will go back. Visited: April 2005 Posted by confente This hotel was quiet, and the people here were very friendly. It was such a relaxing time. The food was superior and plentiful. Visited: December 2003 Posted by dixiec9 My husband and I spent a ten-day vacation here last December and plan to return this coming December. The staff and beach were great. The only problem was that we had to leave and we didn't want to! It was one of the best vacations we have ever had, and we travel two to three times a year. Will Fleming and his staff made us feel as if we were family, not visitors. The cottages were charming, the food was plentiful and the staff was wonderful. We loved the quiet and the beauty, great value, and great staff. Visited: November 2002 Posted by circhef We found the Anguilla Great House on the internet and were not disappointed for a moment. It was not super fancy, but it was a true experience of Anguilla and the special feel of that island. It was not a place for action, it was a place of quiet beach enjoyment. The food was good, and there was lots of it. They also had great rooms with good amenities (A/C TV/cable). It was just a wonderful find. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food was superior and plentiful. Their pina coladas were the best I have had. I would go back in a heartbeat. Visited: November 2001 Posted by lgd22 This hotel is located on one of Anguilla's many beaches. The sand is so soft it melts between your toes. The Great House sits on Rendezvous Bay, which is a treasure in itself. The rooms are spacious and neat. The hotel staff is friendly and polite. The restaurant is convenient if you don't feel like venturing out.
