3.0 stars It was terrific but . . . Visited: February 2004
Posted by edmond_jen
We went in February for ten days with our two small children and stayed in a two-bedroom suite with a kitchen. The units were large, clean and comfortably furnished. Also, the resort was beautifully landscaped, but there were almost no guests.

There was no room service, the restaurant was not really that, and the bar opened sometime after 5:00 pm. That was okay with us, but might not be for everyone.

It was not a "resort" but more like a bunch of clean, comfortable apartments situated around the pool. However, the owner was lovely and the staff was pleasant and friendly, unlike what we observed at other resorts on the island.

The biggest drawback was that guests can't walk to the beach. The website indicates you can, but there was construction and that won't be permitted for some time.

So, you can drive two minutes to the nearest beach or you can simply drive a couple of more minutes and go to a beautiful new beach every day. There were no private beaches in Anguilla and no one will give you a hard time if you set up under a grape tree on their lovely beach.

Also, there was construction on the site of the former Sonesta Beach and it was annoying. We enjoyed Paradise Cove, but there were not a lot of amenities/services so you will be disappointed if that is what you want.

5.0 stars The best! Beautiful, friendly and clean. Visited: July 2000

We had the best time! As newlyweds we enjoyed the quiet setting, friendliness of the staff and rooms that were beautiful and clean. The breakfast was also excellent.

We are returning again this year. Thanks for a wonderful time. And yes, the room service was just what we wanted, fresh fruits and cheeses and the Johnny Cakes…mmm good!

These are the best-priced rooms on the Island. Plus, a courteous staff! Hope to see all of you this year for Carnival!
