Bliss Villa, Anguilla traveler review
It was simply incredible. Visited: February 2008 |

Bliss Villa was perfection, magnificent, and incredible. My stay here was peaceful, enjoyable, and comfortable. It was also exceptionally clean, with beautiful views, and rejuvenating.
I'm sorry, but I feel compelled to say its ranking on this web site is way too low. This home was spectacular.
I cannot tell you how much we felt at ease and how blissful our ten days here on Anguilla have been. Everything was more than I expected, more than advertised, and better than any pictures.
As I compose this review I have a 120 degree view of the ocean, St. Maartin and St. Barts. It is magical. Words cannot explain the ambiance of Bliss Villa, the views, and the sounds of crashing waves.
Anguilla is the new favorite island of our family with thoughts of purchasing a home if we win the lottery! We wish we had found Anguilla ten years ago.
This is my third review of villas that we have rented from WhereToStay.com, and all have been very positive. Either you are doing something right, or I am very lucky as our experience with other agents was not as rewarding.
If you are looking for an exceptional value for a high end two bedroom villa, my experience is that Bliss Villa is the best most wonderful two-bedroom villa available anywhere. |

We are looking forward to returning to Carimar for our fifth year in a row!
Carimar is a wonderfully casual, relaxed resort right on one of the world's best beaches. This is a fantastic addiction that will be very hard to break.
The thought of returning to Anguilla and Carimar sustains us through our harsh New Hampshire winters. We particularly enjoy our leisurely lunches on our very private terrace.
The Carimar staff is the best, and they make our stays so enjoyable! |

Anguilla is an island everyone must experience. If you're going to experience it, you must do so at Sweet Return.
My family had stayed in Anguilla at a resort and had a great time, but nothing compares to having your own villa with an astounding view to wake up to every morning.
Resorts are too expensive, and other villas are overpriced. When we chose Sweet Return, it was because of the affordability and the appeal. We had no idea how much it would go above and beyond our expectations.
The kids - ages three and five - had an incredible time. The villa came equipped with beach bags, ready and waiting at the door with towels, sunscreen and beach toys! The closest beach was Rendezvouz... the most beautiful beach in the world - literally.
The great thing about the location of the villa was that we could get anywhere on the island in a short amount of time. Also, everything was so well organized, it felt like we were at a resort, but had the privacy of our own place.
In addition, everything was so clean and new and beautiful, the whole family is still wishing we were there.
The benefit of staying at a villa as opposed to a resort was the ability to take in the local culture and food! We frequented the Barrel Stay Restaurant, and often enjoyed our leftovers while watching the gorgeous sunset on the pool deck.
The time we spent there will never leave our memories. We will most definitely return to Sweet Return Villa. |

Sirena Hotel, Anguilla traveler review
Sirena Hotel is a great, friendly place with recent upgrades. Visited: November 1999 |

This is a real find. It is small, very quiet, and has the friendliest staff I have ever met. It is just off the beach, with two pools, and a nice restaurant - although we went out to the great restaurants on the island.
The new owners are really adding to the place with a very nice makeover of the restaurant. The rooms are all refurbedished, and the grounds are really pretty. I thoroughly recommend this place. It is a great value - no doubt. |

I can't put into words how beautiful Nirvana is. When you walk in, the home is so spacious and is the ultimate in luxury. The view overlooking Sandy Ground makes it great to enjoy an evening by the pool or watch the boat races during Carnival.
No detail has been left undone in this villa. The owners are great, and really make you feel at home when visiting this home away from home. In addition, the villa is clean and well maintained to the highest level.
Nirvana is the best place to experince a luxury vacation. I didn't want to leave! |

Our stay here was very pleasant. Visited: February 2006 |

My wife and I were there last year, and we greatly enjoyed the hotel.
The staff was very pleasant, and they tried to be helpful. We ate out most of our meals, but the kitchen had the basics.
It was a very good value. The hotel was a bit away from most of the restaurants we liked, so a car was necessary. |

The Ferryboat Inn was charming, delightful, warm, and nice.
It was not fancy, but it was better than that! It was clean and nice, with good food.
We stayed in both apartments and beach house (in two different occasions), and it was beautiful, peaceful and will always be a place to return to.
Marjorie, thanks always for everything, and for giving the extra mile for your guests! |

Villa Manana, Anguilla traveler review
Mañana was magical. Visited: June 2007 |

This villa was more beautiful in person than its webpage pictures! It was in a most beautiful area of Sea Feathers, which we were not familar with before our stay here.
This home was more traditional Caribbean in architecture. When you walk in the front door and the doors are open to the pool and ocean beyond, it is the most wonderful sight! The water and waves crashing were wonderful. I miss that sound already!
The infinity edge pool made us feel as we could swim right into the sea! There were many, many outdoor sitting areas - some in the shade, some in the sun.
The bedroom double doors opened up on either side of the pool area, and so the feeling of space was incredible! The views from Manana were glorious.
We had wonderfully clear days, so aside from seeing St. Martin, we could see St. Barts, Saba, and either St. Kitts or Nevis. The views of the stars at night were super, too!
An extra bonus was that Manana just installed a phone system that you can use their phones to call anywhere in the US for free! |

Cuisinart was slow, peaceful and tranquil. Visited: May 2007 |

We just got back from Anguilla after spending six nights at Cuisinart. We enjoyed absolutely beautiful grounds, a wonderful room, and we loved the spa and food.
However, it was pricy. Just plan to spend money on food and drinks - and don't forget the spa. Our minimum dinner tab came to $200 for two people, and this did not include drinks.
We found that this was a great resort for honeymooners and couples. There were not very many singles or kids.
We discovered Dune Preserve that was next door to Cuisinart. The owner is Bankie Banx, a Reggae singer. It was perfect for good, inexpensive island food, drinks and friends. |

We loved Rendezvous Bay. Visited: May 2007 |
| Posted by lfl123 |
 |
We stayed at Rendezvous Bay in early May in a beachfront villa.
The hotel sat on the most gorgeous white sandy beach, and had the feeling of the way the Caribbean used to be.
The accommodations, though somewhat dated, were clean, spacious, and offered plenty of closet and dresser space. The bathroom was large, and had a separate sink area.
What set this place apart was the friendly service of all the staff. The employees here went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
Also, the on site restaurant, Cedar Grove, was Caribbean gourmet at its finest, and highly recommended to anyone going to Anguilla. There was entertainment there the night we dined - which made it very nice. There were many wonderful restaurants on Anguilla, but this was certainly one of the best!
Unfortunately, the hotel will be razed in August to make way for a new hotel. If you can go this summer, you won't be dissappointed. It was a wonderful and relaxing vacation! We wish we had found this place sooner!

Villa Manana, Anguilla traveler review
Villa Mañana is fabulous. Visited: March 2007 |
| Posted by jodi |
 |
We stayed at Villa Manana for nine days in late March - early April during spring break, and we loved it!
This was our third villa rental (previous rentals were Banana Wind and Villa Luna) - and we have also stayed at Cap Juluca, for reference. I am very picky about where I stay, as I travel a lot for business, and generally stay in five-star hotels. I can tell all that Villa Manana lived up to my very high expectations!
Not only was the villa location (with the views and right on the sea) beautiful, quiet and convenient to our favorite beach (SBE), but the owners have decorated it so beautifully. It really felt like a home, rather than the sterile feel you can get with some rental villas.
Moreover, they paid special attention to the fine details - fabulous matresses; yummy sheets; big, thick, super soft terry towels; a wonderful dressing room with a master closet; thick, thick pads on the the loungers by the pool; and lots of seating outside (because, believe me, you will live out there!
I highly recommend opening up the entire back of the villa to the outside). Also, every imaginable convenience in the kitchen (although and ice maker would be a welcome addition, simply for filling coolers for the beach!).
Other owners should take note and try to replicate this - your guests will love it.
By the way, the villa is, I believe, listed as a two-bedroom on the another web site, but it has three full bedrooms, plus a daybed/trundle off to the side in the living area. So, there was plenty of space for my family (my hubby, me and our two kids).
We are definitely headed back. Although, after this post, I wonder if I'll be able to get it ever again! We loved it. |

Well, sadly we're back from a beautiful (almost) ten sunny days in Anguilla having stayed probably for the last time at Rendezvous Bay Hotel. This was our seventh year in Anguilla, and our fourth at RBH.
We love RBH. We like the casual beach atmosphere and access to one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. We also appreciate the wonderful personal service from Bart, who greets us with "welcome home" when we arrive. He is also very attentive to our needs.
In addition, we enjoy the wonderful food at Cedar Grove. And, of course, the family golden retrievers who provide "surrogate" dog love while we're away from ours is nice.
We thought we'd found our forever vacation hotel destination when we found RBH, and would have stayed there for years because it offers just the right mix for us at the right price.
The plans for the new property are ambitious and beyond our means. Like many others on this forum, and devotees of RBH, we're searching for similar, alternate places to stay for next year. Any suggestions are welcome.
Knowing this was the last time we would be staying at RBH, we uncharacteristically stayed on the beach at Rendezvous Bay for the entire ten days lounging in the glorious sunshine (often under the umbrella). We swam in the beautiful turquoise waters and did a lot of beach reading. When we left, my husband and I both said a reluctant farewell with misty eyes and even Rex (the Golden) came by early in the morning to say goodbye.
Basically most of our off beach activities this year consisted of eating, so here are our reviews:
Cedar Grove - typically we eat at the restuarant on the property the night of our arrival and departure. This year was no different. In years past we've always had very good meals, but this year Cedar Grove provided the best meals of our trip.
Our first night I had the reknowned fillet of snapper steamed in rice paper, and it was fabulous. We shared the special of fried calamari which was the best we had on the island. I don't recall my husband's meal, but he too said it was great.
On our second visit, I had the snapper in rice paper again because it was so good the first time and I wasn't disappointed. My husband had the Caribbean Bouillabase special of shrimp and scallop thermadore. It was filled with loads of shrimp and scallops in a delicate thermadore sauce with a side of the most tasty rice (brown with currants or some fruit and exotic seasonings).
I believe Cedar Grove is very overlooked by many visitors, and I can't understand why. The food is consistently very good or better, and the setting is beautiful. The executive chef "Smoke" consistently creates exciting, palate pleasing meals. In case you're wondering, I'm not being paid by Cedar Grove for this review! |

I paid $170 for a night here, and it looked like a motel in a bad neighborhood.
The beds were okay - just okay. There was no air-conditioning, no television in the room, and the furniture was falling to pieces. Also, mosquitoes abound here.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
On the upside - the staff was friendly, and the food was good. |

Cap Juluca, Anguilla traveler review
This ws the best vacation and setting - I will return! Visited: March 2007 |

I just returned from Anguilla and Cap Juluca, and cannot tell you how beautiful, relaxing, and accommodating the resort and staff were.
I was here the first two days by myself, and never felt insecure or looked over as I have at other places. In fact, they were even more accommodating.
The beaches were pristine, and the views from anywhere in the hotel were outstanding. There were honeymooners, returning couples (both young and old), a couple of families with older children, etc. This was not a family resort, thank goodness!
I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quiet, introspective time alone, or a romantic but fun time with a significant other or spouse. |

My husband and I recently stayed at Cuisinart Resort and truly loved it. We had a villa overlooking the ocean, which had a lovely balcony where we had our morning breakfasts.
The weekly lobster barbecue was a feast not to be missed. And of course the beach was wonderful. We can't wait to go back. |

Meads Bay Villa Resort is the best experience on the island of Anguilla. We stayed in one of four exquisite villas right on the beach. The beautifully appointed interiors with a spectacular view made our stay the best in the Caribbean!
At Meads Bay, you are within walking distance (on the beach) to a number of wonderful restaurants. Or, if you prefer, a gourmet meal can be prepared right in your own villa!
This resort is very private, yet anything you need is right at your finger tips! You must experience this paradise! |

Cap Juluca, Anguilla traveler review
This was the perfect honeymoon. Visited: December 2006 |

Cap Juluca offered a pristine beach, turquoise waters and five-star luxury. My husband and I just returned from a spectacular honeymoon at Cap Juluca. I cannot begin to express how magnificent our stay was.
We stayed in a second-floor junior suite, which - like all the rooms at Cap Juluca - had a terrace overlooking the ocean. Breakfast of croissants, pastries and fresh fruit were brought to our terrace daily, along with a summary of the day's activities and News headlines.
Carol, our villa manager, catered to our every need, as did all of the Cap Juluca staff. The beach staff brought us cold towels in the morning, and the most refreshing fruit sorbet in the afternoon. When we left the beach to take a dip in the ocean, we would often return to our towels neatly arranged upon our lounge chairs and bottled water upon our table. The list goes on and on. The staff, however, was never overly intrusive and always respected our privacy.
The fitness center was clean, modern, and climate controlled. Pilates, Yoga and group fitness were available if you desire. There was also a media room with satellite TV and 24-hour internet access.
George's was quite good for lunch (yet pricey- as was most food on Anguilla), and a full cooked breakfast was also complimentary there in the morning.
My only complaint was the service and food at Pimm's was mediocre at best- yet ridiculously overpriced. After the first night, we ventured off the grounds and sampled Blanchard's, Oliver's and Altamer. Each culinary experience surpassed the one before. All of our meals were excellent - and for the same prices as Pimm's!
The junior suites had a large soaking tub for two, a large shower that opened onto a private garden/sunbathing area, that allows one to feel as if you are outdoors. It was delightful!
We also had a Balinese couples massage in our villa. I have had many massages before, and can honestly say this was the most relaxing massage of my life. It was definitely worth it!
As for the mosquitoes... well, they were not a problem the first few nights as we kept the windows and doors closed and the AC on. The fourth night I wanted to "feel like I was really in the Caribbean", and left the windows open in order to listen to the ocean. I woke up with some nasty welts on my forehead! And learned my lesson. But a few insect bites is a small price to pay for the privilege of vacationing in a spectacular resort on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.
For a romantic getaway, first class treatment and laid-back luxury in the middle of paradise - go to Cap Juluca. I have been to nearly a dozen Caribbean destinations, and never again will I go anywhere else! |

Three Dolphins is beautiful and laid out well. The two master bedrooms are very private and spacious with private balconies overlooking St. Martin. We loved the Caribbean/Asian decor. The staff was very nice and did a great job. The only negative is that the beach is tiny and when we visited, there were too many sea urchins to swim. With so many fabulous beaches on the island, it was no big deal. I would definitely go back! |
