Description
The historic Admiral's Inn offers a quaint British charm, a holdover from the time when the main building served as an engineer's workshop for the Royal Navy under Admiral Nelson, for whom Nelson's Dockyard is named. The interior of the inn still bears the mark of history, with hand-hewn beams, wrought-iron chandeliers and a bar topped by an old work bench etched with the names of ships that once docked there.
The restaurant serves three meals daily, with locally grown vegetables and fruits and fresh fish; a charming terrace offers a relaxing harbour view, and folks come from all around to hang out for drinks here and at the bar.
All guest rooms are equipped with bathrooms and showers; one two-bedroom apartment offers a kitchen and a living room. Although there is no beach on site, several are within a short distance, and a free car shuttle service runs trips to Pigeon Beach. A boat shuttle also runs to Freeman's Bay.
