As close to heaven as you can get without dying. Visited: April 2002 Posted by email Long Bay hotel is probably the best kept secret in the world. I am deliberately letting the cat out of the bag because, I would feel guilty keeping this secret to myself, and this place must be kept alive in these difficult times. For three years running we have been looked after by the kindest and most caring staff we have ever met. We were so impressed, we decided that this year we would take the whole family (fourteen in all, including seven grandchildren). The children cried when it was time to go home. Did you find this helpful? Long Bay offers great fun, food, staff and management. Visited: April 2002 Posted by luba_fra Last year, we stayed at the Allegro Pineapple Beach Resort. This year, being on my own, I decided to stay at a small hotel. From the first moment, I knew I had made the right choice. The hospitality was evident from the greeting at the front desk, the concern that despite the lateness of the hour, I could still get something to eat and the detailed introduction into the resort. The next day, the beach manager took pains to introduce himself and made sure I knew where things were. All the staff was friendly beyond belief. It was a very laid back atmosphere - no phones and no television (yeah!). Each morning, Chris downloaded news from three different newspapers, so guests didn't feel totally out of it, but could ignore it if they wanted. They also had a large gameroom and an incredible library. One criticism I had was that the beach could be a little busy. However, the resort offered an alternative quiet area on the other side of the resort, or guests could lounge on the private patios attached to each room. We couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. Our flight was delayed and we arrived at 10:30 p.m., but Chris had made a plate for us and Sam kept the bar open so we were served upon our arrival. Those simple acts set the tone for our entire stay. The food and drink were good, the staff was marvelous staff. There was just the right mix of activities (we sun-bathed on the beach and swam and sailed in the lagoon every day) and peace and quiet.
