It's a shame what K Club has become. You can now go to Lighthouse Bay, which is a brand new faciity. Search for them in Barbuda across the lagoon.

3.0 stars Would not recommend this resort until it is rejuvenated Visited: December 2001

I can easily say that the KClub was one of the best beach resorts in the world. It has THE MOST beautiful beach my husband and I have ever seen, miles and miles of the finest, softest sand. The sand is so pristine that other islands in the Caribbean actually import it to enhance their beaches.

The Club offers the remedy to those of us needing to escape from hectic, chaotic lives. Rest and relaxation are the only activities permitted. Guests avoid each other because anonymity is the name of the game. Your sensibilities are offended if another couple has the audacity to stroll on your fourteen-mile stretch of beach.

Next to the beaches, the central building is the jewel of the resort. The building is completely open to the elements, which stimulates the perfect tropical breeze all day long. Though appointed to the smallest detail, we found the furniture uncomfortable especially the dining room chairs.

We reserved a suite, which was superfluous. The single cottages were enormous with large dressing rooms and baths. Each cottage also had a L-shaped patio filled with furniture. In fact, the patio was the nicest feature of the cottage because the bedroom was starkly furnished. It seemed the owners were more concerned with design than comfort. The living room of the suite had two day beds, another full bath and dressing room, ideal for two older children.

After your first meal at the K Club, you will know what it is like to dine at God's table. Everything was delicious and the pasta chef was an artist. I still dream about his exquisite lobster lasagna. The desserts were a little disappointing; they had more looks than taste.

Finally, the management and staff were charming and accommodating, by far the best we had seen in the Caribbean. Too many tourists have not yet warped the employees and they actually seemed happy to be at our service.

The bottom line? The resort has been neglected; leaking roofs, peeling paint, tennis court in need of repair, vacant cottages in foresaken condition, dirty grout in shower and around sinks, droves of mosquitos, etc.

Guests have money to burn if they stay at the KClub but they do expect outstanding quality and service. The current owners would like to sell the property and it shows. As much as the management and staff do for the property and its guests, their hands are tied until the owners are willing the spend the money to revitalize this beautiful property. With all of its fine attributes, we would not recommend making the investment nor time to lodge at the KClub until it has been restored to its original spender.
