A comfortable cottage resort on a beautiful beach. Visited: February 2002 |

Galleon Beach is located on a wonderful beach with calm water. The cottages are basic but comfortable. There are no phones or television.
We like the location on Antigua--the English Harbor area is quiet, and from Galleon Beach you can walk right on to several wonderful hiking trails, which we enjoy a great deal.
The resort is also a time share, and the other guests are very friendly. The restaurant on the premises is also very good.

We had one of the nicest vacations ever on Antigua. Galleon Beach was relaxing and laid back.
I would recomend renting a car if you go, because there are many places to see on the island and it would have been fairly expensive if we had used a taxi to go everywhere.
We enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness of the English Harbor area, but there were some nice bars and nightlife at Nelson's Dockyard. The British and Australian vacationers we met were the nicest and friendliest people anywhere. They reminded me of Georgians in the United State.
I would recomend Galleon Beach and Antigua to anyone who wants to relax on nice beaches and enjoy a peaceful, laid back vacation. |
