5.0 stars Sunsail's Colonna is very good, especially for kids. Visited: April 2006

I really enjoyed my stay at Colonna. Anette, the deputy manager, helped my mum to have the best ever wedding at the top of the tower at Harmony Hall.

Barisa Chambers taught me to sail, and I will be a pink band when I go back.

3.0 stars Sunsail's offers lovely staff, and great child care, but rooms need updating. Visited: February 2005

This was well worth our ten-hour flight - warm sea water and great sailing facilities. However, the hotel was in need of decoration and updating - this let our holiday down.

Child care was really good and well thought through. Also, the staff was friendly and welcoming.

4.0 stars It was brilliant - one of the best so far! Visited: August 2003

This was definitely a place worth visiting. My family had always wanted to visit the Caribbean, and when we discovered that Sunsail had a club here, we had to say yes!

The accommodation was not the best, but the resort made up for that with its atmosphere. And the Antiguan staff made our stay that much more enjoyable - so much that I only went in my room to sleep!

The kids' club (which I hid amongst many a time - I'm 17) was well run, and the enthusiasm of the leaders made it worthwhile. The island itself was stunning, and the people were so relaxed. There was also so much more on offer when you ventured out of the club, such as St. Johns, the capital of the island.

Two excursions I definitely recommend are the trip to Shirley Heights to watch the sunset, and the helicopter trip over Monserrsat, Antigua's nearest neighbor. Costing over £100 a head for a 50 minute flight is costly, but it is definitely worth the money and is a once-in-a -lifetime experience!

In all, it is a holiday not to be missed!

4.0 stars Great atmosphere, great diving, and great sailing. Visited: October 2002

The accommodation was not of the highest standard, but this was made up for by the attitude of all the staff and the atmosphere of the resort, which was superb.

I had read a negative report of the diving, but found this was due to staffing problems in the past. During my stay, I found the new ultramarine management couldn't do enough for us. All equipment was excellent, the dive boat was a thrill in itself, and there was even organized scuba experiences for my two children (highly reccommended).

The kids clubs were also fantastic, and the food and entertainment were of excellent quality. I am looking forward to our return next year.

3.0 stars Excellent for sailing, but very basic accommodations. Visited: September 2002

Club Colonna had a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The watersports really were fantastic. However, I didn't go to the Caribbean to stay in a medium-style hotel. The food was okay, but nothing special and the rooms were a good size but basic. This holiday was not luxurious and apart from sailing, there really wasn't anything else to do. Evening entertainment was also quite disappointing. Taxi's in Antigua are very expensive, but the Island is beautiful and is worth seeing. It’s a great place for families and anyone who has a passion for sailing.

5.0 stars We enjoyed picture-perfect sailing. Visited: August 2002

What a place! From the moment we arrived, we could not have been made more welcome - the staff was fantastic.

The sailing was perfect, the kids were kept entertained in the kids clubs, and the facilities were good.

The only slightly negative point I would say was that the night time entertainment was sometimes a bit rubbish. But that didn't really matter anyway, because there were plenty of other places nearby to eat and do other things.

We can't wait to go back next year, we just loved the place!

4.0 stars Excellent facilities, accommodation, food and staff. Visited: August 2002

I just spent two weeks at Club Colonna with my two boys (5 and 18 yrs). And as a single parent, I felt very welcome.

All facilities and accommodations were excellent. The food was abundant and of good quality. I particularly want to recommend the Kids Club to holidaymakers with children. It was very well run and gave children from five years old the chance to sail amongst all the other activities provided.

It was a beautiful location, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We felt well-supported when the youngest child was suffering from an earache. Evening entertainment was just right, too. I am happy to recommend, and hope to return.

3.0 stars A fabulous sailing resort, but a disgraceful dive center. Visited: August 2002

Sunsail's Club Colonna is an excellent sailing rResort with a great watersports staff and a very good kids club. It is an excellent place for a family holiday.

But, if you wish to dive, do not choose the poorly run and unorganized resident dive center 'Ultramarine'.

4.0 stars An excellent place for R & R plus adventure. Visited: April 2002

I was accompanying my husband on business and feared being alone with a lot of alone time on my hands. To my surprise, I found a lot to do - eating, sunning, shopping and scuba diving.

All of the staff throughout was more than willing to accommodate and include all the guests in their events. Here was where I became smitten with love for the ocean. I feared the water, but quickly overcame the fear with the overwhelming kindness and education from the diving crew. I came home boasting of the beauty of the island and the comforting atmosphere of the Sunsail.

I am anxiously planning to return in October of this year. I can't wait to dive again now that I am a certified diver.

2.0 stars Great Antiguan staff at Sunsail's Colonna Club! Visited: February 2002

The Antiguan staff was wonderful - the kids club staff was best - thank you, Ladies! My kids had a great time.

What I did regret was the English staff's attitudes towards the Antiguans - atttitudes I could not get past. I hated to have my children see that.

3.0 stars Club Colonna has fantastic watersports and kids clubs. Visited: December 2001

We stayed at Colonna in December 2001 with a group of 12 people and children. The sailing and windsurfing facitilies were incredible, as were the kids clubs.

A luxury resort it is not, but it has a comfortable and very relaxed atmosphere.

5.0 stars A very good place for a family holiday. Visited: August 2001

I just thought I'd write a review to boost the ratings which I did not agree with.
Antigua is the best place, it is so relaxed and chilled compared to the UK. Club Colonna is a great place for the family to stay - especially teenagers.
