1.0 stars TERRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!! Visited: July 2004

Stay away at all costs. This hotel is spooky and disgusting and a total rip-off. If you have to stay here due to an early morning flight departure do not go to the hotel's restaurant. The waitress presented the meal as included in the room price or at least prix-fixe. The bad fast-food style meal costs $40 US per person. As for the details, the light bulb in the room's lamp didn't work, there was a huge cockroach in the bath and the entire hotel sounds like a horror movie because of the wind howling through the rooms. And the hotel is in an unattractive middle of nowhere a 5 minute drive from the airport. This place would be OK for $20 a night but it deserves to be banned at its current $90/night price. Let's drive it out of business.

2.0 stars It was very quaint. I might spend a month here! Visited: October 2003

I spent a few hours here between flights and found it inexpensive and charming. Everything, even the ceiling fan, was rusted from the salt air, but the room service was friendly, and the food was lovely.

1.0 stars NEVER Book a Room Here.... Visited: September 2003

My husband and I had to stay overnight at this hotel due to a sudden change in travel plans that required an overnight layover in Antigua. We were shocked when we arrived. We were greeted by a very rude front desk clerk and led to our room. The room was adjoining another room, however, the door that led to the other room was broken. To fix the problem, the staff had placed a chair in front of that door to "disguise" the problem. This, of course, was a MAJOR security issue. We spent a sleepless night due to a variety of insects biting us as we slept and woke to find ants crawling up the wall by the A/C. In the morning, the water for our showers was freezing cold and we found a large cockroach in a bathtowel... We can honestly say that it was a nightmare although the night has provided us with some laughs ever since. NEVER, NEVER stay in this hotel.

1.0 stars A terrible vacation. Visited: July 2003

If you are planning a family vacation, this is not the place to stay. We reserved a cottage on the facility for a week and upon arrival it was not ready. The description/pictures of the property does not resemble the facility’s conditions in any way. We were placed in rooms with kitchenettes for the night. The sheets and pillowcases were dirty. The beach is inundated with seaweeds. The pool was dirty. We were so disappointed that we had to cancel the balance of our stay and seek accommodations elsewhere.

2.0 stars Close to the airport. Visited: July 2003

I stayed overnight on Antigua in July of 2003. This hotel is very close to the airport and was clean and tidy. I arrived very late and left very early. My wake-up call was on time (in fact 15 minutes early), but there was no water in my room. I have stayed in many hotels in Antigua and all have been better than this. However, it is difficult to beat the fact that it is 2 or 3 minutes from the airport.

1.0 stars Only advantage: 3 min. to airport Visited: May 2002

Spent 1 night here on a passthru from Trinidad to US. Clean and neat, bed large and comfortable but expensive food for what we received (no other dining opportunity nearby) and only bath towels (2). Had to change rooms as a/c wasn't working. If you must stay near airport, the Beachcomber is the only hotel, I believe.
