Nedd's Guesthouse - Barbuda

The little island of Barbuda is the vacation spot for some
people from the neighboring island of Antigua as well as
those well-traveled individuals seeking out roads less
traveled. Why? Because it represents the Caribbean as we
like to think of it, before fine hotels, in fact there are
few! Neds Supermarket, Hardware & Guesthouse is one of a few
places singles, families and yes, business travelers stay.

Only five minutes from the airport, (no jets, just shuttles
from Antigua), Ned’s is a two story home with six rental
rooms upstairs and a large first floor supermarket and
hardware shop that is open almost all the time.

The rooms are very reasonable and very basic with a bed, a
full bath, and a floor fan. It is not unusual to find
locals walking or riding a bike (once in a while a car) over
to buy a soda or a fresh (I mean fresh – just off the boat)
lobster or fish or just to talk about island business.

On this island a traveler has no choice but to live as the
locals do; no buses, few taxis, a couple of rental cars on
this island and one town! Activity options include walking
to the local beach or reading, relaxing and conversing with the locals.

The overall pulse of this island is as quiet and laid back
as you can imagine. You have no choice but to become
immersed and relax. You can sit at the open store door,
talk to the customers and watch the television playing.
