| We (wife and I) stayed 9th to 24th Sept 09 room only. The price we paid was staggeringly cheap so we didnt know what to expect, having read some very bad reviews. Need not have worried. Good points: The location is superb if a bit isolated (transport is really expensive - best hire a car), rooms were very clean and spacious with superb air conditioning, a drinks fridge and an easy to use safe (all included free). Most of the staff tried very hard (Super Mario)but others didnt. The bad points included patio doors that didnt fit and a bath that had been painted (inside!). Drinks were horrendously expensive so we supplied our own. The island is very beautiful but everything is expensive. They suffer from drugs, corruption, religion, poverty and inertia. Bit like home really. We had the holiday of a lifetime. Many thanks. |

| We love Blue Waters, and have stayed here seven times now. We traveled with family and friends this time, and were treated royally. It has a beautiful location and grounds. It was an excellent accommodation, with fabulous food and wonderful, friendly staff. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! |

| This was the worst trip of my life. The staff was rude, and the accommodations were horrific. I cannot believe Sandals can charge the prices they do for such sub par accommodations. | |

We had a great vacation. Visited: March 2009 |

| This was our second trip to Antigua, and our first stay at the Sandals here. Our first time in Antigua we stayed at the Jolly (a nightmare). This trip was great. All the construction talked about earlier is done. We stayed in the older section, but the rooms were spacious enough and clean. The beds were very comfortable. We had a small patio outside our room, and a pool and jacuzzi right beyond that. Hardly any people used it, so it was almost like your own private spot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good. I just didn't like having to make a reservation for dinner every night. We had no problems with mosquitoes, unlike our last stay in Antigua when I had red welts on my legs for a month after I got home. I enjoyed the entertainment at night, but by midnight the place was pretty much quiet. I definitely plan to return. |

| The staff was outstanding. The resort atmosphere was so laid back and very upscale. I met wonderful people, and still keep in touch. Michael is one in a million, and makes you feel as if you are coming home. |

| It was exactly what I was hoping for. I really enjoyed my stay at Heritage Hotel. I've told a couple of my friends who come here to visit Antigua or even locals who just want to get away from other family members. I know they had a relaxing time, too. Everything is right outside of your hotel room. |

| It's a shame what K Club has become. You can now go to Lighthouse Bay, which is a brand new faciity. Search for them in Barbuda across the lagoon. | |

This was the best two-week holiday ever. Visited: February 2008 |

| After reading some of the moaning on here from our cousins from across the Atlantic, I had to write and say that from the moment we left the UK to the moment we returned the whole package was excellent. We were in the Med Village on the ground floor. We had our own patio and unrestricted views of the resort out to the sea. The staff was nothing short of brilliant - especially if you took the time to chat with them. They were very pleasant and seemed proud to be working for Sandals. They couldn't do enough for you. All the top shelf brands were available, and the restaurants and food were brilliant. We were married in the gazebo in the gardens, and it was the best day of our lives. The wedding staff made a big effort, and were our familly for the day. They organized everything and all went smoothly - even the weather. My one tip would be to research the restaurants, and book the first couple of nights dining as soon as you arrive. We ate in the Cricketers the first night, and our concierge organized the rest of our bookings for us. I would say believe the photos, and make an effort to treat the staff as you would like to be treated in your own country or state. Then you will get a smile, and find someone who can't do enough for you. As holiday makers from the UK, we were slightly outnumbered by some other nationalities. However, we had no issues with any of the staff or facilities whatsoever. My thoughts are that some people are never happy unless they are having a moan about something. Just enjoy the laid back lifestyle, and the holiday will be one to remember forever. |

| This was the most magnificent beach I have ever been to. It had incredible white sand and clear water. The rooms were lovely, and the service was exceptional. The review from the chap who was refused service should not be read. Coco Point was a magnificent resort, with great food, nice people and lovely rum punches. |

| This was my second visit to Verandah. It's new and nice. Some people have complained of rude staff. I suggest you try saying hello first, and see what that gets you. You won't believe the difference. All the rooms here are suites with king sized beds. The rooms also have a wall mounted LCD TV, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathrooms include a very large tub for two, and two sinks. The rooms offer beautiful views and breezes. The beach is a little small, but nice. The food is above average, and there are plenty of choices. The spa provides massages and other services. In addition, there are two pools, one just for adults. |

| Pelican Isle is a hidden gem with the best views on Antigua. Its location is down a nearly hidden driveway to a hillside peninsula adjacent to two beaches. Turner's beach is considered one of the island's best swimming beaches. The 200 degree view from my villa was a photographer's dream. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and the changing colors of the sea were an inspiration. Photos on their website gives some idea of the spectacular setting. Currently, there are only four active rental villas. They are well spaced for individual unit privacy on this nine-acre property. The spacious units have full kitchens with oversized refrigerator/freezers. My two-bedroom unit had a very large porch with an outdoor dining table and lounge chairs. Maid service provided fresh towels for the bath and beach every other day. Last week another guest literally lived off the land catching lobsters and fish in nearby waters. Most people will want to follow the approach we took, a few good meals at Jolly Harbor and some home cooked meals utilizing locally grown vegetables purchased at Saturday's colorful market in St. John. We only experienced bug bites from sand flies in the early evening just after sunset. I understand that since a nearby swampy area has been turned into a lake, mosquitoes have been much less of an issue. A car is necessary to fully enjoy Antigua. |

Scuba divers beware. Visited: November 2008 |
|
| Posted by fredwat | |
| My vacation to Sandals Antigua was a big disappointment. One of the primary reasons I came here was to scuba dive. My wife and I have been to a couple of the Couples resorts, and had very pleasant experiences. We decided to try Sandals because of the hype - and the fact that you promote free scuba diving twice a day. I’ll first begin on my experience with scuba diving and then go on to the other issues with the resort. Since by the time we arrived on Monday, 11/3 it was too late to book a dive the next day (I am open water certified.), I went early the next morning. I was told from the manager (in a very unpleasant fashion) that since I had not dived in six months (it was six months and five days), that I had to take an orientation course. I said "Fine. When today can I take it?". He told me I couldn’t take it until the next morning, and that I wouldn’t be able to dive until the afternoon of the next day. They schedule the orientation dive at 8:30 am, and consequently no one who arrived the day before would be scheduled for the dive the next morning. It became obvious to me (and every other diver I met) that it was set up this way so most divers will not be able to dive the first day. Most divers usually don’t dive regularly, and many have probably not dived in the last six months. If you were trying to accommodate guests, you would schedule the orientation dive later in the morning so people could have time to go to the dive shop, register, take the orientation course, and go out that diving afternoon. You don’t know how many divers I met that were so upset with this arrangement. |

| This place is not a hotel, and it's not on the beach. They they extorted $110.50 from me just to check in. They said this was "unit surcharge" is for A/C, safe, local phone calls, and housekeeping. However, once I got to the room, the safe required a credit card to use. The ceiling lights were out in the kitchen and in one bedroom. Also, the housekeeping was extremely substandard. I don't think they ever changed the sheets, and they only cleaned the bathrooms once. Only two washcloths for a 2BR/2.5BA villa for a week? I only got more after leaving a note. In addition, three out of the six table lamps could not be plugged in beacuse they had US-style plugs, and the walls had some other kind of electrical outlets. They provided a stereo/CD player, but it couldn't be plugged in, either. Bring your own adapters! I requested (in advance) a villa as close to the beach as possible, and it was on the South Finger. However, it was still a good five-minute walk minimum to the beach. For me, it was a ten-minute walk because I had two three-year-olds. The office and supermarket were about a 15-minute walk. There were no sidewalks, so you're with cars and trucks on a narrow road. This place was not kid friendly. The villas had steep, narrow, spiral staircases that would scare anyone who has little kids staying there. As it was, my daughter slipped on the tile floors and knocked out a tooth! The beach was nice, but if you want to use kayaks and pedal boats, you need to buy a day pass at the all-inclusive hotel that is on the beach! |

| The hotel is in the heart of the cruise line dock area, and is busy when the ships are in. Although the accommodations are not overly fancy, they are adequate - especially if you are not staying more than a few nights. The air conditioners work, and the rooms are spacious and clean. The balcony overview of the busy streets below was pleasant - if you get a sunny side view. There are several decent restaurants nearby, too. I would come back again - and probably will. |

We had a perfect 30th anniversary here. Visited: January 2008 |

| Book it and enjoy! My wife and I were here January 17-26, and we had a fantastic time! We went for our 30th anniversary, and the whole trip could not have been any better. The entire staff was fantastic. I never met a single employee who did not say "Hi" and smile. Donovan Dobson, the Director of Guest Services, is an outstanding host and really takes pleasure in making sure his guests have the perfect experience. The grounds were beautiful, and the food was very good. We stayed in the Med Village section, but we had the opportunity to see several rooms on the CV side, and they looked very nice, too. It was very romantic on the CV side, and there were lots of secluded spots and pools to enjoy. The MV side was also very nice, but was bigger and not quite as lush as the CV side. The entire resort was 100% booked for four of the nights we were here, but it did not feel crowded. We were able to get reservations to all the different restaurants as long as we were flexible with when we wanted to eat. |

| We have just returned from one of our best vacations. This is a charming resort with lush gardens, great accommodations, and is on the beach. It is very romantic for people of any age. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. There is plenty to do - or you can just get away and relax. We will return to Siboney Beach Club again. |

This is a wonderful holiday spot for a family. Visited: November 2007 |

| Posted by maddog | |
| I'm not sure that others reviewing here stayed at the same resort as us...it seems impossible to have such wildly differing views! We had inter-connecting ground floor rooms (palatial). They were no more than 20 meters from the ocean via a private deck/verandah and then, palm trees and beautiful white sand. We would wake and go straight out to swim in the sea before showering and dressing for a wonderfully varied buffet breakfast. Our two boys would frequently watch the cartoon channel and wonder why two adults would want to spring out of bed on holiday at 7 am to swim, before joining them for breakfast. The staff was kind and friendly, albeit laidback, but that is the Antiguan way and if anything, it made the holiday more enjoyable. The meals were all of good quality. Although, after two weeks, it was getting a bit 'samey'. There was a noisier extended family that appeared in the second week, but the beauty of two beaches is that we frequented wherever they weren't to escape the five-a-side rather loud games taking place with a distinct brummy 'twang'. Overall, this was a great holiday, and we would do it again in a heartbeat. |
