If you are honeymooners (like we were), or a couple just trying to get away from it all, Bucuti Beach is the place for you.
It is, without a doubt, the best beachfront property in Aruba. And no matter when you go to the beach, you're guaranteed a private spot where you aren't lined up in a row of lounge chairs like sardines, a shaded area if you want it and a waiter who brings you food and drinks anytime you put your flag up. Paradise!
Taxis are always available to take you to Palm Beach or town for dinner, but the restaurant on property is excellent, with a great wait staff and menu. The torchlight dinner on the beach is a nice added touch and worth doing once.
There's a casino within walking distance, but for dancing or other nightlife you'll need to go elsewhere. The hotel is clean, well-kept with decent sized rooms (however, if you need an oceanfront view from your room, you may be disappointed - there are only a few oceanview rooms, and many of them are obstructed by tall trees).
We did have problems with the on-site managers who didn't give us a straight story when we arrived to find that the room we were assigned was not the one that we had been guaranteed and reconfirmed with their reservation manager just a few days before we arrived. Before leaving Bucuti, we left a note for the owners expressing our disappointment with their staff, and received a very considerate reply from the owner with a thorough explanation (which included informing us that they were off-property the week we were there, which explained why we didn't hear from them when we first left a message for them). Their response alleviated our disappointment.
Before deciding on Aruba and Bucuti Beach, we spent a lot of time on this website and other places researching destinations and resorts. While we were in Aruba, we went to some of the other resorts to see if we were missing something, but decided we had made the best decision with Bucuti and we loved everything about Aruba.
We will definitely go back to Aruba and stay at Bucuti Beach again.

Best Beach on the Island Visited: March 2000 |

I stayed at the Bucuti last year and it was the best vacation I’ve ever had! Due to a reservation mix up, it was necessary for me to spend half of the week at another resort. After doing so, I can honestly say I would have given anything to stay at Bucuti all week.
Everyone was very friendly--especially Lionel at the bar who makes a mean Daiquiri! The rooms were large and comfortable, and the casual atmosphere of the place was wonderful! The beach was large, the ocean refreshing, and there were plenty of beach chairs. I would go back in an instant!

Great European Ambiance - Wonderful for Couples Visited: January 2000 |

I visited this hotel on a Travel Agent FAM trip in April 99. I loved the ambiance; very European, and especially nice for couples. I wouldn't recommend families at this resort. It was a clean, nice small property. I think the Palm Beach area is a bit prettier than Eagle Beach, but of all the hotels I visited on my trip (and we toured many!) this was one of my favorite hotel properties on Aruba. |

Perfect honeymoon resort Visited: January 2000 |

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon in Aruba. The Bucuti Resort was a perfect place to get away from the congestion of downtown Aruba and the larger resorts on the island. I recommend the bungalow suites for those who like the luxury of a full kitchen and a spacious porch.
If you visit on your honeymoon you are greeted with a bottle of champagne in your room at check-in. Everything about the Bucuti was wonderful: the staff, morning lizard and bird displays on the garden, great happy hour at the Pirates Nest beachside bar, and, of course, the beautiful and vast beach area. |
