We had the best vacation of our lives!
The food was great, the room was clean and very well maintained. Everyone here, especially Carla at Guest Services, was especially helpful.
Pictures do not do Aruba justice. We will definitely be back again! |

Tamarijn offered perfect relaxation. Visited: March 2002 |

My husband and I went to the Tamarijn for our honeymoon at the end of March. We were concerned about avoiding Spring Breakers, so we chose Aruba for that reason.
It was perfect - we loved the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. There were no topless bathers and no drunken teenagers to bother us. We loved the food - although the Divi's restaurant was better than the Paparazzi.
We went to hear the time-share talk and (with no purchase) got a free Jeep rental for a day. That was great! The maps for Aruba were worthless, but it was so small that we eventually found where we wanted to go.
The Tamarijn's rooms were kept clean - nothing fancy, but perfectly fine for our needs. We stayed on the first floor and our room was literally steps from the ocean! The wonderful breeze and ceiling fan meant we never had to use the air conditioner!
They had an okay pool - we never went in it, though. I liked the Divi's beach better. The all-inclusive concept was also wonderful. We experimented with lots of drinks - the Zoom was our favorite! One night, for the outdoor buffet, we weren't thrilled with the food and it was so crowded we couldn't find a place to sit. So we just ditched our plates, headed over to the Divi and got a brick-oven pizza instead.
Since the Spring Break season seemed to be the most expensive time of the year for the Caribbean, we probably won't return for an anniversary. But sometime down the road, we would like to come back to Aruba and will probably return to the Tamarijn again. |

Good resort - slow people. Visited: February 2002 |

My boyfriend took me to Aruba. We flew non-stop from Cleveland to Aruba and took a tour bus to the Tamarijn. When we got to the resort it was lunch time, so we waited for about 20 minutes until someone was ready to help.
We were supposed to receive an Aruba card to use for discounts throughout the week. We finally got it Friday at 4:30 p.m. (we left Saturday at 10:00 a.m.). If you don't ask for the card - they won't tell you about it - so pay attention to what is included in your package.
The resort was clean and so was our room. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was okay. It was not high quality but it was edible and (most of the time) satisfying.
The sunset view from our room was incredible. If at all possible, stay in the 1900 or above rooms.
The most helpful staff member was a man named J.J. He knew where everything was and the easiest way to get there. The Tamarijn was pretty much right in the middle of all the resorts and was not too far from the casinos, downtown Oranjestad and the Butterfly Farm.
We went on an Apple Vacation package tour and will never do that again. They didn't tell us when our flight were delayed or had gate changes. Also, they didn't keep the planes clean and the food was really bad.
Aruba itself was a beautiful island with great things to see. The resort was okay, but being with the one I love and seeing things I never would see at home was worth the trip. I will return some day. |

Good, but not great Visited: February 2002 |

My wife and I just returned from a week at the Tamarijn.
The food was excellent for an all-inclusive. It is important to book dinners at the restaurants on the property as well as at the Divi to get variety and more for your money.
The front desk/guest services left a lot to be desired. Too few people serving too many guests. It took 20 minutes just to check in.
Our room was adequate, but kept very clean. The air conditioner made a lot of noise, the porch light did not work and the ceiling fan wobbled significantly as it spun (scarily so).
All over Aruba, including on the Tamarijn grounds, we were repeatedly invited to attend a one-hour session about specific time-shares on the island. At first it was amusing, but then it became annoying.
There were iguanas crawling all over the property, which we thought was really neat but it could freak out folks with phobias.
The beach was gorgeous, as is the very blue water. If you are choosing between the Divi and the Tamarijn, the Divi had a more upscale feel. Also, if you like to drink, this is a great place. All you can consume, all day and night long. |

Tamarijn - almost paradise Visited: January 2002 |

Our room at the Tamarijn was in the 1700-1800 block and it seemed as though these were among the best rooms at the Tam. We had quick access to the beach - literally just steps away. The room itself was nothing fancy, but quite clean and well maintained.
Because of the extraordinarily strong sun, plenty of sun block is recommended. I thought I was being careful, but managed to burn anyway. The “huts” are shady beach shelters, but you must establish your claim on the hut of your choice early in the day. You do this by securing your beach towels over the chairs. While we were at the Tam, all huts were snatched up by 9 a.m. each day. My wife actually set the alarm for 7:30 a.m to get the hut she wanted.
A good pair of “beach shoes” is also highly recommended. Coral rocks of various sizes covered much of the Tamarijn beachfront. Before you can wade into the surf, you have to pick your way through the rocks, which can be hard on your feet. The exceptions were the beach areas at the north and south ends of the Tam, but they were not as conveniently located.
The food at the Tamarijn was outstanding. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets had something for everyone. I used the opportunity to sample foods that I had hesitated to try at home. As a result, I’m now officially a convert to a fish steak called Mahi Mahi!
While you dine in the buffet area, you are entertained by avian visitors—mostly doves and blackbirds. The birds stroll and swoop among the tables looking for fallen scraps. They are fearless and have no qualms about perching on the back of your chair while you eat. Beautiful iguanas are found at the Tam as well.
The conveniently located bars were fantastic. It was a short walk along the beach boardwalk to any of the three Tamarijn open-air bars. The patrons were friendly and the fast-paced calypso music set the mood. The fact that the food and drinks were included in the “all inclusive” price was kind of surrealistic. If you were parched, you got a drink. If you were hungry, you got food—day or night. There were no prices on the menus and no money changed hands. It’s as close to paradise as you’re likely to find.
Every day was sunny to one degree or another and the temperature was in the middle 80s. Yes, there were occasional rain showers, but they were very brief and the sun blasted through about 15 minutes after the last raindrop hit the sand. The tradewinds blew constantly, providing cool refreshment and making attempts at hairstyles pointless. At night we sat at the beach and watched the ships come and go. The winds caressed us and there were no mosquitoes whatsoever.

A relaxing, friendly, family-oriented place to stay. Visited: October 2001 |

My husband and I went to Aruba for our honeymoon and we had the best time.
We became friendly with most of the staff. Andrea, at the snack bar, was always there with a smile and a "How can I help you today?"; Carla at the front desk was always so informative and also smiling; Fred was always making us laugh. There was so many staff to praise it was hard to pick just a few. However, the few that I named were (in our eyes) the best employees at the Tamarijn.
If you or anyone else you know want to get away to a place that you will want to visit again and again - forget Disney World! Go to where you have friends and now we feel like we have family - the Tamarijn. You will never forget your first visit to Aruba, especially if you stay at the Tamarijn. |

I just returned from the Tamarijn and wanted to give my review of the place. All I can say is that I had a great time staying at the Tamarijn.
Because it’s associated with the Divi, which is just down the block, you can use the facilities of both places. While the Divi has a better beach and nicer looking facilities, the Tamarijn has better rooms. The rooms of the Tamerijn face the beach and if you're on the first floor you can walk out of you room right to the beach (maybe 10 steps at most). If you do stay at the Tamerijn make sure you stay in the rooms that are numbered 1900 and above. These rooms have the best beach in front of them—rooms in the 1500- 1800 buildings have some rocky beaches.
The food at both places is exactly the same. At times it can get repetitive and I think breakfast is the weakest part of the menu. Aside from that it is worth it to do the all-inclusive thing. Without it breakfast is $12.50 for all you can eat and the drinks are $5.00 per drink.
Outside of the Tamarijn is a local bus that will take you into town, it costs $2.00 round trip and is pretty good. The busses run about ever 15 to 20 minutes.
The Tamarijn and its sister resort the Divi are very relaxed laid-back resorts. If you want to relax and sit on the beach and not worry about a thing, stay at either one of these places. You can't go wrong. I plan to go back.

A laid-back place for laid-back people. Visited: June 2001 |

Tamarijn is very laid-back. It is a great place to stay if you're just looking to relax and get away from everyday stress.
The rooms are just footsteps away from the crystal-blue Caribbean and are always kept clean.
I would suggest eating at Paparazzi, which is an Italian restaurant, located in the main lobby of the hotel. The buffet food was good for breakfast and lunch, but I would suggest eating at either the Paparazzi or the Palm Court for dinner.
All in all, Tamarijn is great and my boyfriend and I were thinking of heading back in June of 2002. The service is good and we never had any problems finding something to do.

My husband and I spent a wonderful, fun-filled week at Tamarijn. This was our first trip to Aruba. The rooms were very clean and very well kept. The resort was going thru a facelift, but that didn't hamper our fun or rest. The staff was very helpful and very friendly.
If my husband and I didn't have to work full-time we might consider moving to Aruba. There were plenty of activities and nightly themed presentations. Watching the sun set every evening was truly awesome. We loved the weather. They only get rain (liquid sunshine, as the natives call it) for about five or ten minutes.
The food was excellent and believe me, there was plenty of it. The all-inclusive plan is the way to go. We will definitely visit Aruba again and stay at Tamarijn.

Wonderful! Visited: May 2001 |

My husband I visited Aruba for the first time and we absolutely loved it. We stayed at the Tamarijn and had no complaints. We were in an oceanfront room and the view was breathtaking. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food and drinks were great.
We are going back to Aruba October 25, 2001, but this time we are staying at the Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort. We are staying free for seven days because we won a free week compliments of a lottery draft at the Tamarijn for going to a timeshare meeting. We have made plans to visit Aruba at least twice a year.

We'll go back! Visited: June 2000 |

The beach was right outside our room. The room was clean. The buffets were very good, as were the plentiful non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiris.
Service was good and the staff was friendly--especially the people who signed the (free) bikes out. One word about the free windsurfers, because it is so windy in Aruba, they did not want to let my husband (or anyone) take a windsurfer out. It took him several days before they allowed him to go out on the water and he is experienced.
Everything was leisurely there. June was the off-season, which we'd highly recommend. We practically had the beach to ourselves. Staying at the Tamarjin was the most relaxing vacation we've ever had, and we will be going back!

Relaxing, great weather, food and drinks Visited: May 2000 |

We stayed at the Tamarijn for our honeymoon, April 30-May 7th, 2000. We had a wonderful time. The room was very nice and clean. It was wonderful having the beach at your doorstep. The staff were very friendly and helpful!
One complaint my husband had was that the Aruba beer was causing him rotgut. I do suggest another brand for the all-inclusive. As far as the other drinks, they were great. I think I tried every frozen drink the bartenders made and all were good!
The buffet food was good especially breakfast. We did try the restaurants at both the Tamarijn and the Divi and highly recommend them in place of the dinner buffet.
We would definitely return to Aruba and stay at the Tamarijn. |

A relaxing stay by the deep blue sea. Visited: January 2000 |

The hotel, while older, was well maintained and the staff was very friendly. We stayed in a room as close to the ocean as you can get without getting wet. Sleeping at night to the sound of the waves was very relaxing (not all rooms face the ocean).
The all-inclusive feature was easy on the pocket. (Although, we did eat out a couple of nights.) Nightly entertainment was very good and finished early enough to get the young ones to bed. We would return to the Tamarijn again, in fact we are, but next time will be in Barbados. |

I have been to Tamarijn 4 times and have enjoyed it every time.
The staff were great, the drinks were excellent and the food was delicious. The rooms were nice and the maids did a great job of keeping them clean.
I have stayed at other hotels in the high rise area before and found them nice but Tamarijn was a very casual relaxing place to go.
I'll be going again this October, this time for my honeymoon and look foward to seeing all the staff as they treat you like family. This will be my 9th time in Aruba, and my 5th time at the Tamarijn.
When people ask me why I keep going back to Aruba, I say, "it's a guaranteed vacation with no suprises." I have been to other islands and found none to compare. I can't wait to go again this year. |

Our very clean, well-decorated room was steps away from the beach and ocean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was very good and varied nightly. Bar service was excellent.
Thanks to the Tamarijn for a relaxing self-indulgent week.
