Q: Hi-I'm a 38 yr.old single female teacher and have some free time to travel in July--I would love a 1-2 week vacation where I could get away, relax, and still find enough activities to keep busy on my own. Trying to stay away from family or romantic resorts,etc.. maybe thinking of a spa. However, it is very expensive for 1 week...any ideas of places to go?

Q: I’m tasked with planning a bachelor party and the groom has requested The Bahamas. Can you offer suggestions on nightlife, daytime activities (away from kids, etc.)?? We’re considering a day of charter fishing but will be a group of up 8 – any recommended boats/captains? I’m considering Atlantis and staying on Paradise Island but would be open to other islands of the Bahamas if they’d support more adult/rowdy interests.
Any help would be great – this planning is a challenge. Trip would be in early May.

I'm looking for a fairly new and nice hotel right on the beach with walking distance to shopping and dining. Looking to spend about $350 for hotel a night. If there are a few options, please list. Thanks so much.

Q: Hi!
My husband & I are planning on making a trip to the Bahamas in August. As I understand it that in the off-season, as we are going in, many packages are discounted quite a bit. We heard of an offer with Sandals - a pretty upscale place that we might not normally look at due to the costs - has an offer that reduces their costs by half, if not more. So I am trying to balance out where to stay in the Bahamas - we could certainly stay somewhere less expensive but it wouldn't be all-inclusive and we'd have to find meals and such elsewhere or in some cases, return to the same single restaurant night after night at the hotel we are staying at. It seems like the Sandals option is good because of the reduced costs, all-inclusive, with still some variety to where you can eat (since they have 9 restaurants). Am I completely off-base in this thinking and the reality is that staying somewhere else and going out to eat can be much less expensive and still exciting? Also, we are a couple with no kids - our preference would be to go somewhere that it is somewhat peaceful but we have easy access to the main island to do some of the activities offered in the Bahamas (swim with dolphins, underwater subs, etc).

Q: hi! SOMEONE PLEASE LEAVE ME SOME FEAD BACK HERE. MY HUSBAND AND I JUST BOOKED A TRIP TO ATLANTIS BAHAMAS FOR MAY 24-31 2007. WE ARE IN OUR 20'S. WE ARE NOT REALLY LOOKING FOR CLUBS, JUST A BEAUTIFUL UPSCALE PLACE WITH SOME NIGHTLY ACTIVITY AND WATERSPORTS. I AM NOW READING ALL THESE BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THIS RESORT&QUESTIONING IF I SHOULD GO OR NOT? NO1 HAS YET DIRECTLY GIVEN ME ADVICE ABOUT THIS RESORT. I HAVE BEEN TO JAMAICA 7X AND USED TO BE IMPRESSED BY IT BUT HEARD BAHAMAS WAS A LITTLE MORE UPSCALE. MY QUESTION IS..IS ATLANTIS "THE HAPPENING" SPOT IN BAHAMAS AND IF NOT..WHAT IS? OR AM I TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT BAHAMAS..WHERE IS THE NEW HOT SPOT TO STAY?
