Q: hi! SOMEONE PLEASE LEAVE ME SOME FEAD BACK HERE. MY HUSBAND AND I JUST BOOKED A TRIP TO ATLANTIS BAHAMAS FOR MAY 24-31 2007. WE ARE IN OUR 20'S. WE ARE NOT REALLY LOOKING FOR CLUBS, JUST A BEAUTIFUL UPSCALE PLACE WITH SOME NIGHTLY ACTIVITY AND WATERSPORTS. I AM NOW READING ALL THESE BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THIS RESORT&QUESTIONING IF I SHOULD GO OR NOT? NO1 HAS YET DIRECTLY GIVEN ME ADVICE ABOUT THIS RESORT. I HAVE BEEN TO JAMAICA 7X AND USED TO BE IMPRESSED BY IT BUT HEARD BAHAMAS WAS A LITTLE MORE UPSCALE. MY QUESTION IS..IS ATLANTIS "THE HAPPENING" SPOT IN BAHAMAS AND IF NOT..WHAT IS? OR AM I TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT BAHAMAS..WHERE IS THE NEW HOT SPOT TO STAY? Answer

| A: I just got back from Atlantis Tuesday, it was fabulous! Water Park area was my favorite, it made up for the minor shortcomings of the hotel, (late room cleanings, double instead of single king bed, keys that stopped working twice). The hotel is enormous! It is very beautiful, if you can't find something to do here I would be surprised! Reccmmendations: Lunch at Murray's Deli; Conch Fritters in the water park; The Abyss waterslide; The current, tube ride with Power tower option, with the left side slide ( can't remember if its the falls or the drop). As the other answerer stated use a grain of salt in reading reviews, I would add that good times should follow you, in other words plan on having a good time, some folks can't have fun no matter where they go or what they do. | A: My advice, first of all, would be to take any reviews you read with a grain of salt. Regardless of the place, you're going to read both positive and negative reviews. You've already booked it--go with your gut and have a great time. The Bahamas, I would say, is one of the new hot spots....Especially if you've been to Jamaica several times already, this would be a great time to explore a new place! This is all very arbitrary, so a lot of it is going to be your opinion....I think you've made a good choice, though. |
