This was the worst place I have ever been. Visited: January 2008 |

I encountered many negatives here, including incorrect reservations, faulty plumbing, doors that did not close, and dirty and food spotted furniture.
In addition, the refrigeror fell out of the wall when the door was opened, the room had torn and defective window blinds, the air conditioner had problems (leaking water and missing parts), and the rooms were shabby and seedy, and the porch furniture was dirty.
I also encountered inconsiderate, impolite, and untrained front desk staff. We were once walking to town, and the assistant manager came along in his golf cart and refused to give us a lift. What a terrible example that sets for the staff (he was the manager's husband).
The manager seemed to have no management training. There seemed to be absolutely no proper supervision of the staff.
In addition, the over charges extreme. For example, manager's sister-in-law tried to charge us $30 an hour for babysitting. The manager then told us it was $10 an hour. Finally, they charged us $20 an hour.
Also, the bartender gave us no chips for drinks (he was the manager's brother-in-law).
Who would ever go to Dunmore Beach Club if they ever had been any where else? It was a terrible experience for us. |

An elegant and lovely hotel. Visited: February 2003 |

We were guests at the Dunmore Beach Club for five nights in February 2003. This was a lovely property located on the beautiful pink sand beach.
Our cottage was private, immaculate and equipped with every comfort. The staff was truly delightful. The resort had a number of small touches - iced tea and sun screen by the beach, homemade cookies in the last afternoon - that made us feel cared for.
Meals were well prepared and elegantly served. This was a small hotel where you can expect to socialize with fellow guests. The emphasis, however, was on quiet relaxation. Based on our visit, the guests were mature and experienced travelers. This was a very special place and we will definitely return. |

I've been to Harbour Island three times in the past two years and the last was my first experience with Dunmore Beach. If your budget is above economical, this is the way to go.
The room was very nice with a great view of the beach, and very private. The food was excellent (all meals are included in the room rate, which makes it less expensive). Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all incredible and left us very impressed and satisfied.
The beach is the famous pink-sand beach, which every person should see and experience at least once in their lifetime (and that will only make you want to return over and over again). On top of all that, the staff was extremely nice and helpful.
This was the perfect spot for the perfect weekend, and I would highly recommend it.

The best of Harbour Island! Visited: January 2000 |

I had been going to Harbour Island for 25 years, staying at the Dunmore Beach Club. Basil Albury was then the owner of the club. It was recommended by Ben and Sybil of the Green Shutters Inn in Nassau. My friend (Jack) and I were always here for the Columbus Day week-end, staying on for 2 weeks. I would get up before sunrise, make a cup of instant coffee, and head for a walk on the beach. What a beautiful way to start the day.
If you were lucky, you would come back with a wonderful treasure. A Glass Ball from Spain or Portugal, from the fisherman's nets. I have a collection of over 35 such glass balls. Some have holy water in them. More to this story.
I have many wonderful memories of this wonderful resort. Thank you Dunmore Beach Club for making my life complete. I give you 5 thumbs up, 5 stars and whatever else there is to give. Not to forget the beautiful pink sand beach.
