I actually checked in and out the same evening. The hotel was in need of major renovations, and a security update.
I was given the key for a room already occupied, and the next room I was given was covered in dust. It was ddisgusting! |

Before I offer details about the hotel, I want to note that our negative experience was shared by other guests in the hotel. We met three other couples/groups who were very unhappy with their stay. This hotel seems to be a joke on the island. When we told cab drivers and locals where we were staying, they all laughed or expressed sympathy! That is unacceptable!
My fiancé and I recently took a trip to the Bahamas and made the unfortunate mistake of staying at the Nassau Palm Resort. To say that it was a resort is a big joke.
Upon entry to the hotel, I was shocked. It looked nothing like the pictures on the web sites. The pool was filthy. We literally could not see the bottom for the first few days.
The first room we were assigned to was disgusting. There were stains everywhere on the carpet. It looked like a map of the Bahamas was urinated into the carpet and allowed to dry - seriously.
The bathroom was no better. There were used bottle caps on the floor, and it looked like it needed a good sweeping. Most shocking were the notices that the hotel posted about safety - basically warning us to lock the door lock, bar lock, safety lock, chain lock and lock box. Not a good sign.
When we complained to our travel agency, we were told that there were no available hotels for certain days of our trip and we were forced to stay at the Nassau Palm. The hotel agreed to change our room. They switched our room to one that was only better because it was larger.
The service was appalling. We had to call every day for new towels. The only thing the maids did was make up the bed. There was no bathroom service. The water in the shower was never hot… not even warm. also, we had a power outage - and yet we were charged about $9 per person per day for energy and maid service!
Do not stay at this hotel. Do not waste your money. The truth is, if you want a hotel that is decent, this one doesn’t even come close. It will ruin your time on the island. |

I am not sure where to begin. The staff, although friendly, did not go out of their way. One of the elevators did not work.
Also, our room was deplorable and small, the bathroom stall was covered in black markings (which we discovered was soot from people wiping their feet on the walls of the shower because the balcony was filthy). We were so disgusted, we moved. |

After a recent brief stay at the Holiday Inn at Junkanoo Beach in the Bahamas, I feel that it is my duty to express how awful this hotel is! From the beginning, the room was infested with ants, the tub was cracked, the toilet paper holders were rusty, the door handle and chain lock on the door fell off in my hand, the Jacuzzi was broken, the pool was green, the staff was rude, the place was gross, there were wet towels left everywhere outside, and to make it worse, the corporate office sided with the hotel when we called to complain about our stay.
It took five hours for our towels to come, and after dealing with an extremely rude staff, we got the shaft. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again, and I advise you all the same, since this is only the top of the list; I am sparing you the details! |

My boyfriend and I stayed here for five days in March 2003, and we had a great time. The staff was very helpful.
We had a view of the ocean and we saw the cruise ships come in and go out. We walked into town every day - to the straw market, the stores, Senor Frog's, the bars, etc.
We were also here in 2002 and had the same great service. |

The hotel was in the middle of downtown Nassau, so if you don't have a lot of money for taxis it is great!
The staff was very friendly. The food was good. The maid service was wonderful. The pools could be a little bit cleaner. The beach across the street was okay. The rooms were very nice. I recommend taking buses instead of taxis!
It was a great experience, and the hotel itself was not too costly! |
