Running Mon is now Sunrise Resort and Marina. Visited: October 2009 Posted by rahsatc My friend and I wanted a weekend getaway where we could slip away from it all. We hopped on our boat looking for Running Mon, but learned that the owners changed the name and the property is up and running. We found the property to be clean, cozy, and comfortable; and the staff to be the most courteous. We met the General Manager, the fashionable and gracious Ta'Shar Cuccurullo. Her staff calls her "Mrs. C." They went out of their way to help us with everything. The free amenities more than made up for the distance from town. We used the kayak, worked out in the gym, did a little fishing and were even able to check our e-mail all for free. Would will definitely visit again. Sunny sunny Running Mon! Visited: March 2002 Posted by 007erik My fiancé and I went around in Florida and had this perfect chance to go to Grand Bahamas. We had the most pleasant stay on a three-week holiday at Running Mon! The rooms were in perfect shape, the price was more than reasonable - compared to what we had been offered earlier! The atmosphere was laid back. Also, the transportation to the bazaar and Port Lucaya could have been better - but you could rent a bike and that would be perfect to take you around! Did you find this helpful? A newly renovated beauty! Visited: February 2002 Posted by bkshottes1 The Running Mon Resort and Marina is a beautifully well-kept resort located on clear blue waters. We visited the resort for four days. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Although the resort was a distance from the crowdy tourist-filled location of Port Lucaya, the tour guide, Chavan was there to assist our every need if we were looking for something to do. She was fun and very humorous. There was a conviencence store on the property and a duty-free liquor store. We met the owner on our last day here and had a wonderful conversation with him. The main part of the city, Port Lucaya, was only a few minutes away, but an expensive $10 to $15 cab ride! It was a three-minute ride to the International Bazaar (between $7 and $10), where there were fairly good restaurants and lots of shopping opportunities. My only complaint was that the resturant that is located on the second floor needs a lot of adjustments. We were seated and practically forgotten about. We only ate there twice, both times were mid-morning, and even at those times it took a half hour to be served and practically 45 minutes to get our food. Thus, the reason for the cab! So, we basically went to Port Lucaya to eat. They provided transportation to the beach, but only until 4:30 p.m. - same as for the use of the motor bikes or bicycles! We had to walk the 15-minute hike to the beach to see the sun set! If they could just extend those times and improve the service of the Mail Sail Restaurant, this resort would be five stars! Also, we didn't get a chance to swim in the pool because it was being cleaned for four days, and the pool bar was never open. This is simply a delightful place to stay! Visited: January 2002 Posted by iwantitnow33315 I stayed at this delightful resort and had the greatest time ever. When I approached the resort, I thought: "What a bright orange building". I wondered what kind of vacation I would have. When I arrived in the lobby, the girls at the front were professional, quick and friendly! In no time, I was checked in and sent to my room. A few minutes after I arrived to my room, I was called by the front desk clerk inquiring whether everything was to my liking. I knew that I would have a wonderful time. I was happy! Next, I went to the Restaurant for a light lunch. The chef was on his way out, but he stopped to prepare my meal and then went on his merry way. After lunch, I was taken to the beach by a boat shuttle and picked up promptly. Later, I went to happy hour at Mainsail Restaurant and had a great time. I spent two glorious nights and three splended days at this resort and wished I could tell everyone about my experience. I even met the manager and the owner - a double treat! Running Mon Marina and Resort was the perfect place to slip away from it all.
