This was a spectacular experience on every level! Visited: March 2006 Posted by lesliejazzygm1 I just returned from a marvelous stay at Runaway Hill Club on Harbour Island, in the Bahamas. What a pleasure! Everything - from the extremely comfortable beds to the gorgeous view - was truly a paradise of a getaway. Special mention to all staff members, who were courteous, engaging and very attentive to all our needs. Runaway Hill is relaxed, refreshed, gorgeous! Visited: June 2005 Posted by bigflanman We arrived at North Eleuthera and were whisked over to Harbour Island, the "home of friendly people". We were so comfortable in Runaway Hill. The linens were silky smooth and pressed, and the staff was happy and accommodating. Steve was an incredible host. The man was hilarious and so helpful to my family. Della Reese was a joy to meet and be around. Also, the food and service were both top notch. Do not miss out on the gem of the island! Unfortunately, the new managemet team lead by Steve (whom we found to be obnoxious) spends too much time catering to the owner's desires versus serving (or even thinking) about the guests. The new owners, Mark and Paul, are great. And they do seem to care. However, they would be better served if they had competent managemet. We were pleased with the new ownership and their attention to our needs. The beds and linens were incredible, and the staff was warm and friendly. Visited: April 2001 Posted by dogparent This was our first visit to Harbour Island and I was thrilled that we chose Runaway Hill. We toured the other accommodations on the island and were most impressed with Runaway Hill. The food was excellent, Carol, Miss Della and the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when Island Express cancelled our flight home. Thanks to Rica and the girls, the food is simply incredible - always. Brilander's are the friendliest of the out islanders. Visited: January 2000 Posted by tweedy I have been going to Runaway Hill every year for a week or so over the past 14 years and have never found anything else in the Caribbean that can even compare. There are only ten rooms and each has an individual feel. I think I have stayed in almost every room over the years. Carol, Roger and their staff do everything to make each guest feel welcome and at home. Ms. Rica's cooking is the best on island. You finally will have something to write home about…that you just want to stay.
