This was without a doubt the worst resort I have ever stayed out. For the past 5 years I have taken a beach trip every year and while not all have been great, this one really stands out. Upon our arrival we were given a room which was a king bed. We had reserved two double beds as it was a friend and i traveling. We were then told it had been given away and we would have to wait 2-3 hours before another was ready. Finally we get a room that is disgustingly dirty. Next morning we were woken up by construction on our entire floor! Finally we got a nice room, but still the inconvenience wasn't worth it. The staff is not friendly and down right rude if you have a problem. Make sure you look at the times the restaurants are open because at many times all that you can eat is the pool grill, which is never open when they say. The activity sheet is put out the day of so anything that requires sign up is already full then probably won't happen. The food was bland and the same everywhere. Make sure you book reservations the day before. The 4 pools they talk about is actually one large one divided and always dirty. The beach is small and full of seaweed. Last, everyone there is on "island time" so expect to wait...for EVERYTHING!!! My advise, spend the cash and stay at Atlantis!

It was dirty, dirty, dirty! Visited: May 2008

Don't stay here. This was the filthiest hotel I've ever stepped foot in. It should be shut down - and no, I'm not exaggerating.

If you're looking to vacation in a frat house - empty beer cups everywhere, dirty beds, filthy bathrooms, poor service, and drunks at every turn - this is the place for you.

However, if you, like me, expect a hotel to change the sheets between guests, look somewhere else. Bed mites - need I say more?

I will not return. Visited: May 2007

I understand that this place is to be torn down in the near future. All I can say about that is - "good riddance".

When my wife and I checked in, we found our bathroom had not been cleaned well at all. There were hairs on the sink and counter, smears on the mirror, and dingy towels.

When I went to bed the first night, I had to brush sand off the sheets. Our bathroom leaked from the ceiling. We were finally moved to another room.

The quality of the rooms left much to be desired. The front desk service was uneven at best. I will say that the other staff (waiters, bartenders, entertainers, etc) were very accommodating.

I would not return to this place!

I just came back from my second stay at Breezes (first was in December 6 to Jan 7). While my first room (Garden view) was not quite up to par, the second (Ocean view) was great.

I loved the staff. They were hardworking and friendly. The entertainment was great - especially Funky D and the Summer Breeze Band. However, if you are over 30, you probably want to skip the disco!

Stay somewhere else! Visited: March 2007

The hotel is geared toward spring breakers who are looking for free drinks, and don't care what their rooms look like.

The rooms were dirty and run down. After cleaning our room, they forgot to give us towels, and it took three phone calls and two hours to get them.

I was not impressed at all. The food was so-so, and the staff was rude.

It was a nice trip, but a cold pool. Visited: December 2006
Posted by natalinadc
Our trip, all in all, was good. The food was good, and the staff was friendly.

However, the water in the pool was freezing. It must have been in the low 70°f. The ocean was blue, but had lots of seaweed, so there were parts of it that looked dark and muggy.

We enjoyed our stay. We went to swim with the dolphins, which was a short boat ride away. It was totally worth it!

I think if you are looking for nice place at a reasonable price, you will enjoy this hotel. Here, you also have rock climbing, kayaking, trapeze and much more included in the stay.

Have fun!

We were totally pleased! Visited: April 2004

Seeing some poor reviews, we were a little nervous about what we would find here. We were very pleased!

The rooms were modest, but big enough and clean. Food was always good, it was different and hot. Also, the bartenders were speedy, and the the premium brand drinks were always a plus.

There were also tons of activities. The local #10 bus down town was the cheapest and best way to go.

I would reccommend this resort to anyone. I have been to Bahamas/Paradise Island now six times, and I would definitely come back to Breezes!

Very Disapointing! Visited: December 2003

My husband and I stayed at Breezes for our honeymoon. It was pretty pricy, so we assumed it would be nice. Wrong! We had trouble from the beginning. I have read reviews of honeymooners saying they had nice rooms with rose petals on the bed. Not us. We were given the wrong room, not with a king bed, as requested, not with an ocean view, as requested. The main dining room was terribly depressing and the food was cold and old. The other restaraunts had ok food, but the atmospheres were sad. There were no water activities available. Overall, we hated this vacation and are taking a second honeymoon this December to feel less cheated about our luck. We will not be returning to Breezes...stay at the Atlantis...it's beautiful and similarly priced.

Try Breezes! Visited: May 2003
Posted by faithniam
My husband and I travel often (no kids), but this was our first vacation to the Bahamas. We both had some apprehension due to the negative reviews we read about Breezes. We went anyway, despite it all. We were glad we did.

Upon arrival, a Caribbean band played as we proceeded through customs. This was a nice touch and a great start to a terrific vacation. Check-in was smooth and we were in our room before 3:00 pm.

The rooms needed updating, but they were clean and comfortable. Food was actually better than what we expected, so don't beleive the "hoopla". We also ventured out and dined at Jonny Canoe's, which was located next door.

The entertainment and activities were great. Funky-D kept the party going on. We even took a bus downtown Nassau for $1 and took a water ferry for $3 into Paradise Island and toured Atlantis. It was amazing. We had so much fun.

Overall, we loved the Bahamas and enjoyed what Breezes had to offer. There was even enough time to go to church. We realized the importance of giving thanks and we were glad we had an opportunity to do so while in the Bahamas.

A fun and beautiful place to go. Visited: April 2003
Posted by mark_rusnak
Breezes Bahamas is not extravagant, but it is a lot of fun. The entertainment staff is always having an activity if you want to be on the go, like marshmallow golf, softball on the beach, volleyball. Also, the grounds are kept very clean by the staff.

The rooms are average, but clean. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place. But if you are looking for activities and fun - this is definitely the place. Breezes Bahamas has a circus trapeze and a rock climbing wall as well - why pay at a local place in town when it is included here?

The food is mostly buffet style. The resort has two restaurants with limited menus. Even though it is buffet style, the food is very good, with plenty of options to choose from for all meals.

Take a trip to Atlantis - it is very beautiful! Take the #10 bus into town and the ferry over ($4 each way). A taxi is $18 each way. Take your own tour of Atlantis - do not pay for it. You get to see just as much exploring.

Golf is available across the street at the Radisson Cable Beach Golf Club. It costs $140 before 2:00 pm and $70 after 2:00 pm. It is a beautiful course - with lots of water - so bring a couple extra balls.

Overall - this is an affordable all-inclusive resort that is worth the money.

Okay, but not a stress-free vacation. Visited: March 2003
Posted by holmes1310
My friends and I visited this resort for a long weekend away from husbands, children, stress etc. Overall, we did have a great time. Although, I admit, the resort did little to alleviate stress. Therefore, I am writing this review to hopefully make your visit a little less stressful! Apparently, the hotel was overbooked during our visit and this was causing a lot of the problems we were experiencing. I would advise the following when checking into this resort.

1. When checking in, even if your room is not ready, ask for the key. This will guarantee the room that you are expecting to receive. We were traveling with 4 and were told at the first attempt to check-in, that our rooms (103 and 107) were not ready and that we would be just two doors down from one another. We ended up, when they finally allowed us to check in, being on separate wings, one group on the 2nd floor, one on the 7th. They give out rooms as they are ready, so if you are lucky enough to check in when a room that you have requested is ready, you are good to go. However, if you are like us, you?re at their mercy.

2. Ask, before going to the room, if the room is a king or double. Once again we requested double and ended up with king. And due to the fact that they were booked, they were unwilling to move us into anything else.

3. Carefully check your room for security problems. We were initially put in room 103 (ground floor) and when we opened the slider to walk out, we realized there was no lock on the slider. It had been broken off (and seemed to have been like that for some time). There was no way to even put something in the door runner to prevent the door from being opened from the outside. After waiting for several hours for a repairman to fix it, we finally complained enough that they did move us to another room.

Aside from these issues though, the resort was fine. Food was decent for breakfast and lunch (although dinner buffet left a lot to be desired). Drinks were plentiful. Pastafari was decent. Entertainment and activities were varied and fun, although we spent more time off resort. The Johnny Canoe Junkanoo show was entertaining and a short walk from Breezes.

The highlight of our trip was the Flying Cloud catamaran/snorkeling adventure. We did this on Sunday and loved it. Crew was fun and entertaining. Fish were plentiful on the reef and Rose Island was a tropical paradise. We snorkeled and danced the day away. Thanks to Captain Craig and his crew for a memorable experience.

This is a good bargain if you understand the pitfalls. Visited: January 2003
Posted by junkmail
We visited Breezes SuperClubs in Bahamas for four days at the end of December. We got a great deal (last minute) and found the club to be worth the limited expense if you understand its deficiencies.

We found the facilities at Breezes to be overstated. Five pools was a gross error. In reality, there was one pool and one hot tub. The others were interconnected and were much smaller than pictured.

The beach was quite small compared to the surrounding hotels' property. Also, the gym was tiny, but usable. It could hold five or six people comfortably. The rooms were clean, but not big. And hot water was not existent during our stay. Water out of the shower was luke-warm at best-- the hot tub was much, much warmer.

The biggest disappointment of our trip were the activities. We found many to be unavailable or too crowded to join. A schedule of activities was put out each evening at 11:00 pm featuring the next day's activities.

During our stay, the list stayed mostly the same throughout. Breezes offered a wealth of activities: sailing, wind surfing, roller blading, ice skating, tennis, water skiing, scuba lessons, etc. However, even though many activities were listed on the daily schedule, either no staff showed up for the activity or it was cancelled for reasons unbeknownst to the guests.

During our stay, we were able to go sailing and waterskiing for only one day. For the others, the staff stated that the weather was inclement. The temperature for the days in question hovered around 77 degrees with a light wind. Just the type of weather a beginning sailor would long for. This meant no water activities at all-- except for the pool.

Access to pool tables and ping-pong was virtually impossible. Only at 7:00 am could we find a free table. The staff did a good job of putting on daily activities around the pool (bikini contests, boxing, aerobics). Activities at night featured karaoke, bands, and lip-sync contests. Luckily, board games were available to stem your boredom from the lack of accessibility to all other activities.

We thought the food at the resort was lackluster, comparable to what you might find in a college cafeteria. But guests could eat all day long.

There were four restaurants located on premise: Pastafari, Garden of Eden, the poolside grill, and a buffet. The buffet contained many different choices and the food was decent. The restaurants were a step above the buffet-- cooking your food to order, but the quality of the food was the same. While there seemed to be plenty of room in the restaurants, Breezes seemed to limit occupancy-- either to make it more exclusive or because they were short-staffed.

Breezes was unique. Visited: November 2002

My friend and I decided to stay at the Breezes, even though most of the reviews were bad, we checked it out anyways.

The rooms were average, they were nothing to write home about. Be sure to ask to have your bed sheets changed every day. I noticed that mine weren't done every day.

The entertainment crew was awesome, especially Swish. All of these people were so talented and nice. You won't be disappointed there.

The food was great, Eden was good, Craig (our waiter) was courteous and did his job well. Pastafari was amazing, the girls who worked there were so cool, and the Parmesan Chicken was good, too.

I expected the beach to be cleaner, and for the locals to quit hounding you to buy their stuff, but neither happened. Other than that, I had no complaints. But watch out for the guys renting jetskis, they say $120.00 for a 1/2 hour, terrible. Wait til about 4:00 pm to rent, and they will give you a good deal then (about $50.00 for an hour).

If you want to get drunk, this is the place to be. They definitely overloaded us in booze, but the Bahama Mamas were great. The beer was garbage, unless you drank Miller. Oh, and it's a free pour there, no measuring or anything, so watch.

As far as taxis went, they usually charged by the person, but ask the security guard what the average charge is for your destination.

The Reggae Cafe was not included in the hotel package. I thought it was, went there, ate, and then got the bill. Needless to say, I wasn't prepared, but the food was great. They werved wicked Coconut Shrimp.

We didn't do too much, because we wanted to stay in budget, but we did go to ZOO NightClub, it was a great club, other than locals grabbing you asking you to dance, we had fun! Also, we went on the snorkling adventure to Rose Island. Rose Island was beautiful, but the snorkeling was crap. They took us out on a bad day, there were too many waves.

The hotel wasn't bad, the staff was great. It's not a place for singles, most are in couples. Check out Atlantis, it's amazing, and don't let go of your luggage until you get to the hotel.

It was super, super, super! Visited: November 2002

I visited Breezes in November of 2002. I was very excited to see the place. The staff was very welcoming and the place was clean and nice. As we entered the lobby, the music that was being played in the lobby put us in the island mood right away.

The food was very good, and the youthful staff made me feel at home. The entertainment committee was super. I enjoyed the fashion show that included one of the entertainers whose name was Swish. He was great! His personality was quiet radiant. Navado, who was another entertainer, was great also. He did a splendid job with hosting the different activities. I looked forward to seeing and hearing him each night that he worked.

The beach staff had pleasant smiles and was always willing to help you in any way they could.

I am planning on returning in April to enjoy more of the festivities. I decided to bring my best friend this time. I have to visit the Pastarfi restaurant. We had so much to do, that we could not even get there. So I am coming back to pick up were I left off.

I suggest you all go and check this place out. I am still talking about it.

My wife and just returned from this resort, and it was more than I expected.

There was plenty to do and see each day. We only spent money on the Jitneys and souvenirs.

The only drawback was the room, but we were only in the room for a few hours each day. The food was fairly average. We will definitely stay at a SuperClubs in the near future.

We had a very good time. Visited: September 2002
Posted by telico
My wife and I had a great time at the Breezes Bahamas. We arrived around 2:00 and check-in took about 15 minutes.

Our room was nice enough, like a good motel room in the states, with a great view (oceanview). In general, the staff was friendly and helpful, but if you are looking for a resort that waits on you hand and foot, look elsewhere. Top shelf drinks flowed endlessly throughout the day. They used Absolute Vodka as the bar brand, so that was okay with me.

It was mostly serve yourself, i.e., you had to go up to the bar or grill for food or beverage, but that was fine with me. The food was very good. I couldn't see how anyone would get tired of the food unless they were going to be there for two weeks. there was a great variety and it was very tasty. When we go back, we probably will just skip the reservations-only restaurants, as the food in the buffets was fine.

The pools were great with lots of activities during the day. Or you could just sit around and relax like I did. The beach was very nice, clean and the water was great. There were plenty of lounge chairs, both pool and beach side. There were some local vendors on the beach, but they were not pesky.

Check-out was a breeze and they got us back to the airport right on time.

All in all, we had a great experience and we will return. I would only suggest that the bartenders could be friendlier, but it was no big problem, they made good drinks!

NEVER AGAIN Visited: August 2002
Posted by tmartin528
All I can say is that I have never been on a vacation before where I was actually glad to go home. The 4 other people in my party felt the same way.

I will never return to any Superclubs property again after staying at Breezes Bahamas. The main dining area is like a college cafeteria. We were unable to get reservations in the restaurant, and eventually gave up trying. We made reservations for Pastafari, and when I called to confirm they had no reservation for us, I went down to speak to a manager who gave us his card asking the restaurant manager to help us out. When we arrived the "restauarnt manager" was not accommodating at all. She was extremely rude and unapologetic about the mistake. We were shuffled away to Garden of Eden where the food was awful and we decided it was the same as "the caf".

At first we tried being friendly and conversational with the bar staff, but they were stoic. Most of the staff was unpleasant, unprofessional, and at times rude. I get friendlier service in NYC. The nightlife was awful, the drinks were bad, the food was bad. The lobby bar was not air conditioned, and one night they actually had a soft-core porn on the lobby TV, and a fire in the caf.

Breezes Bahamas had the most disgraceful customer service I've ever seen period! The elevators were working on&off. Our luggage was kept on our last day in an unlocked hallway, where anyone could walk in and go through your bags. I would not call this place a resort. I did not feel relaxed or pampered on this vacation. Everything was a hassle. Every time we complained about anything we got dirty looks from the staff, or excuses "we're overbooked". I mean how does a resort run out of Sprite and Gingerale for days? I will never go to a Superclubs again!

Property was a 3.5, but I will have to give it 4. Visited: July 2002
Posted by jgrey
When we first arrived, we did not know what we had gotten into. The property appeared to look relatively older and in need of some remodeling. We picked Breezes because we were trying to stay within a budget. We compared the hotel to the Atlantis resort, Sandals, and other all-inclusives. They were not comparable when it came to all Breezes haf to offer (food, drinks, bike trail, pool side grill, Pastfari, Garden of Eden, the shows, Hurricanes Disco, game room, etc.).

Although the other resorts may have been rated better, Breezes was a guaranteed good time. There was always a show at night, karaoke, or clubing and dancing in the Hurricanes Disco on the property. The staff was extremely friendly. If you are looking for relaxation (no partying), this is not the hotel for you. Breezes was "party central".

Also, the two restaurants - Pastafari and Garden of Eden - added a level of class to eating in which we were served and the meals were unbelieveable. The buffet meals were good as well. There was lots of food - it was available 24 hours a day. It was not the same food each day, either.

I enjoyed the trip and I would stay at the property again. However, a word of caution is to stay at Breezes only if you are interested in partying during your vacation. If you are one who likes 5 star hotels, peace and quiet, and tranquility, you would probably prefer Sandals.

Both my wife and I agreed that we were glad we picked Breezes over Sandals because we wanted to live it up during this vacation. Another example would be if you were just married, Sandals would probably be a better fit. If you are with your wife or a group of friends, Breezes has so much to offer that it is a guaranteed great time. If you are not on a honeymoon at Sandals, you will probably be bored.

Hope this helps someone. I wanted to share my opinion with those of you who were worried about the condition of the property.

This is a superb resort that caters to sport-minded or relaxation-seeking couples. The food is fantastic and the staff is fun, friendly and helpful. The sea is brilliant and the sports facilities are excellent.

We had an incredible holiday and my wife's parents have returned for a second visit. I definitely recommend a visit to SuperClubs Breezes Bahamas.

My husband and I stayed at Breezes for our honeymoon from 6/9/02 thru 6/13/02 and loved every minute of it!

When we got to the hotel, they had flower petals on the king-sized bed for us. The food was excellent, the staff was very friendly and the entertainment was fun and exciting.

We have only been back home for three weeks and we are already planning our next trip back - hopefully in October of this year.

The only negative thing I can say was that it rained pretty much the whole time we were there. But we still had a great time!
