The Comfort Suites was a great deal, and we had an amazing time!
It was cheaper than staying at Atlantis, but we still got full access to everthing Atlantis had to offer! It was right on the property, so we didn't have to walk far. We could also buy drinks at Atlantis with our Comfort Suites room key.
I am staying here again this year, and I strongly recommend it to others! Happy travels! |

We enjoyed our stay at the Comfort Suites Visited: June 2006 |

We just returned from a week-long stay at the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island. I found the hotel to be reasonably priced, and the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Staying at the Comfort Suites enabled us to have full access to the Atlantis Resort. The hotel gave us two access cards at check in. We had to show these cards at any of the beach towel distribution huts scattered throughout the Atlantis Pool areas.
We were also given a wristband which allowed us to use all of the Atlantis facilities. We thought the restaurants in the Atlantis were a bit pricy. There were some places to eat in the shops surrounding the Atlantis that were good and reasonably priced.
The only warning I have is that there is construction going on next to the Comfort Suites (it appears that the Atlantis is expanding). It may be a good idea to reserve a room away from the construction that is taking place.
Here's another helpful hint - stay away from the Straw Market on Nassau. It was extremely hot, and a waste of time. There was a smaller straw market right by Anthony's Bar and Grill...which, by the way, had very good food. |

Here are some tips before you go. Visited: June 2005 |

We just returned June 6th from an Atlantis vacation. We had an incredible vacation.
Although we did not stay on the Atlantis property, we did something that very few people know about. We stayed at the Comfort Suites, which was closer than staying at either the Royal Towers or the Beach Towers.
It also included free Continental breakfast. It was a five-minute walk to Atlantis, and the closest property to the casino and Coral Reef Tower. Also, the rooms were twice the size with a larger bathroom and dressing area.
We traveled with 12 in our family, including children from ages 3-15 years.
The top ten things we recommend you bring are the following:
- backpack ice chest;
- a refillable water bottle with large opening that will fit ice from the ice machines;
- a suitcase full of snacks and beverages;
- sunblock/sunburn relief lotion;
- ziplock bags in assorted sizes;
- miniature credit card that you can wear on a stretchy wrist band;
- a laminating kit to seal your Comfort Suites guest card (Atlantis did not take cash, and the C.S. cards were needed every day to get wrist bands and charge to your room);
- a spraybottle with fan;
- pineapple juice to make your own rum punch;
- and swim shoes for your children.
Before you go, just pack your ice chest with frozen lunch meats or anything that you would like to microwave or toast in the Comfort Suites breakfast area. We took frozen hotdogs and chicken nuggets and saved tons of money on feeding the kids at night.
Also, pack lunch to take to the resort so you don't spend all your money on lunch, you'll need it for dinner. Paradise Island was very expensive, but you'll be able to afford it because you didn't spend a fortune on breakfast and lunch.
Also, take extra bread or bagel at breakfast for your sandwich. You can get condiments at the outside resturants at Atlantis. This was a wonderful place to take the extended family with lots to do for everyone. It was pricy, but worth it. |

It was tricky to navigate out of the building to Atlantis, but once you find the right route, all the grandeur of Atlantis was ours at no additional cost!
We had a group of 11 people split between four rooms. We were all happy with the cleanliness of the rooms, the decor, and service.
The free breakfast was a glutton of donuts, danishes, bagels, cereal and muffins - along with some marginal quality fruit. If you have kids, you'll definitely need to stop for some protein later in the morning.
All in all, we were quite pleased with our stay. The kids (and adults) had a great time in the pools and marveling at the Aquarium at Atlantis.
I would stay here again and would recommend it to other family and friends, too. |

This was the worse vacation ever! We chose the hotel based on the favorable reviews on this site, but we were so disappointed! The hotel is filthy, the stuff is rude, the prices are outrageous - we will never be back there again! Please, do yourselves a favor - go someplace else! |

We just returned from a (hurricane-Francis shortened!) visit to the Bahamas and two-night stay at the comfort Suites. While we were unhappy to leave halfway through our visit, we thought the Comfort Suites was a great deal for the price, and that The Atlantis lived up to all its hype.
We took our two teen-aged daughters (13 and 15), and they loved it. Anyone with girls that age knows it's hard to happily vacation anywhere, but this was just the ticket. They loved the water slides, the banana boat ride, the marine life, and of course, the teen night spot: Club Rush.
As for the resort, yes, it was pricy, yes it was contrived, but what great fun - and it was simply gorgeous. Incidentally, the Comfort Suites staff was extremely helpful in navigating our early departure, especially Juliet at the front desk who was fantastic. We got out just before the airport closed.
The reviews on this site helped a great deal, especially the hints about the 50-cent priced sodas next to the police station. As for resonably-priced food, vist the Green Parrot restaurant near the hotel (right on the water), or walk over the bridge into town, turn left and visit the Poop Deck for some great fish and an awesome view of Paradise Island harbor.
We'd go back in a heartbeat, just not during hurricane season! |

We just got back from the Bahamas. I am glad I did my research. The reviews were right on the nose.
I tried to get into the Atlantis..but it was sold out. My husband wasn't too pleased with our room. I had read the reviews and knew what to expect. We got a room in the older section, which bothered my son's allergies. I tried to change it, but they were unable to move us.
We did have ants in our room..and our toilet leaked. My youngest son didn't like the pool..he said there were too many things floating around in it! We spent most of the day at the Atlantis, and unfortunately, didn't look forward to going back to the room at night.
The continental breakfast was okay - cereal, muffins, etc. Let's face it people, you get what you pay for. I only paid about $156 a night plus tax. If you are paying more than $200.00 a night, spend the extra money and stay at the Beach Towers.
On a positive note, the staff was pleasant. Everyone on the island was very friendly and cordial, and my husband enjoyed Mike the bartender. Again, you get what you pay for. Next time we would save up and stay at the Atlantis. |

The best choice for the money on Paradise Island. Visited: August 2003 |

Our Comfort Suites rooms were nice and comfortable, not anything fancy. But they were cleaned, well maintained and I felt were worth the money. The access to Atlantis was a major bonus, which made the hotel even more of a bargain. I was pleased! |

This was an inexpensive way to see Atlantis Visited: April 2003 |

The Comfort Suites had very spacious and very clean rooms. Everyone but the people at the front desk and the people at the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. People at the front desk were short, and the people at the restaurant acted like they were doing us a favor. The pool bar was always a fun place to hang out. The pool was aging, but it was kept very clean and was really refreshing.
The free breakfast included muffins, bagels, cereal, donuts and water melon, but you did have the choice of ordering different breakfast (about $8 for a ham and cheese omelet). Food was quite expensive everywhere ($10 for a huge hamburger and fries across the street).
If you enjoy having a few drinks, you might want to go to the nearby duty-free alcohol, beer and wine shop across the street since the rooms have refrigerators.
The free access to Atlantis was definitely a plus. Don't miss the Mayan Temple water slides! We would recommend the dolphin encounter at Lagoon Island (consider making reservations before you get there, since they are booked out quickly).
We also did the powerboat excursion and had a blast. It was an all-day activity which included great free food, free drinks, feeding the iguanas, sting rays and sharks, and going snorkeling on your own island. The whole group had only about 20 people. We had a great time.
Check out the Senior Frog restaurant (Mexican food) when you go over the bridge (next to the straw market). They had great food with a great time. We also had great food at the Blue Marlin, just a five-minute walk from the hotel. It was a little more expensive, but the food was great. If you want to take home one of those big conch shells, go down to the Ferry terminals (cheaper there than in the stores).
Cigarettes were more expensive on the island $4 - $5 depending on where we bought them. Overall, we had a great time, though.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites and couldn't have been happier. The price was great, the rooms were clean and access to Atlantis was included.
PROS:
1) Cheap price - I paid around $189/night and had full access to Atlantis
2) Complimentary breakfast - limited, mostly bagels, pastries, etc., but included in the room price. Load up on carbs and hit the Atlantis pool.
3) Close to Atlantis - we didn't spend any time at all at the Comfort Suites, they had a pool, but Atlantis had everything you would want (many pools, ocean, weaterslides, casino, etc.)
CONS:
1) Price of food - Not Comfort Suites problem, food in Bahamas was expensive, but that was the case anywhere you stay.
Overall, the Comfort Suites was the best place to stay. We got the perks of Atlantis for a third of the price. Atlantis was just a short walk across the street.
If I returned to the Bahamas, I would stay here again. |

The Comfort Suites was a very nice place and a good deal. The rooms were very nice and spacious, except the bathrooms were a little odd.
The breakfast provided a wide range of foods and was a very nice start to the day.
One of the best things about this hotel was that guests got to use the facilities at the Atlantis, and at a fraction of the price. Also, there was a very charming restaurant across the street if you didn't feel like eating at the Atlantis.
The resort was very nice, and when I return to the bahamas, I am staying here. |

This was a good alternative to staying at Atlantis. It was less expensive and just a short walk.
Service was good, and the staff was friendly and helpful, although occasionally a bit slow. Atlantis was incredible. It was everything they advertised and more, and there was no additional charge when you stay at Comfort Suites. I recommend it. |

Excellent Place To Stay Visited: July 2001 |

The hotel was excellent. Good luck trying to call the US, though. You must buy pre-paid calling cards down there versus using the hotel phones. We couldn’t use our long distance carrier calling cards from home.
The food was very expensive. It’s a close walk to Atlantis. The staff was very friendly. Go as couples or bring the kids. It’s great for everyone. Definitely go to the Blue Lagoon; see the front desk for reservations. We also hung out with Hulk Hogan (WWF Wrestler).
The price was excellent but beware of food prices, 15% gratuity is added to everything. Only add additional tips for the friendly people. Some restaurants had very bad service with an attitude (probably since they know they're getting the 15% automatically).

The only thing I felt good about this hotel was the access to Atlantis. It was not worth the price, and I would next time stay at Atlantis--Beach Towers. There was not much of a difference in price when I had checked. After all the walking at Atlantis--the extra walk to Comfort Suites was annoying. The pool area is old and worn out, there are NO bellmen to help with luggage, there are no locks on the door where luggage is stored--couldn't check in till 3:00--couldn't get late check out, therefore had to store luggage twice.
I took a towel and the towel rack fell down in the bathroom. Lines, and lots of waiting during the included continental breakfast. The staff acted as they were annoyed half the time. The hotel has absolutely nothing to offer except the Atlantis access. Both pay phones were broken--I was forced to make long distance calls from my room, and was charged connection charges--even when the phone didn't connect. Had to argue with the front desk to have it removed.
It was definetly not worth the rates it charges. I would not stay there again. |

My husband, 2 year old and I spent 6 nights at Comfort Suites. We had a view of Atlantis Resort, which was right across the street from our room. Continental breakfast was served daily by the pool, and included cereal, pastries and muffins.
The staff was very helpful, and scheduled their room cleaning around our 2-year old's naps. The hotel was very quiet at night. There was a strip mall about a block away with a supermarket, sandwich and ice cream shop, which was very convenient.
Access to the Atlantis was terrific! There was so much to do there that we never left Paradise Island during our stay. Comfort Suites is an excellent bargain and a fine hotel.

We got everything we hoped for Visited: May 2001 |

My boyfriend and I, recent college grads, were looking for a relaxing vacation on an island for a good price, and that’s exactly what we got. Comfort Suites guests have full access to Atlantis and its water park, which is why the deal is so worth it.
Atlantis was absolutely amazing. Being overworked New Yorkers we were craving for something like this, waterfalls and caves everywhere, as well as lagoons filled with marine life. The waterslides were tons of fun. There were a variety of water sports. The beach and sand were beautiful. Food was a bit expensive and the nightlife was so-so. The club was situated inside the casino and people not staying at Atlantis and Comfort Suites had to pay a $30 cover charge (definitely not worth it for people not staying at these hotels). The music got better as the night progressed, but this place in general is for all ages. We saw the older crowd, middle-aged guests, college students and teenagers all the way down to toddlers. This is not a crazy type of place; it’s a family-fun/relaxing paradise.
The weather was nice 3 out of the 4 days that we were there. It was around 85 degrees F, and mostly sunny with some clouds. The day it rained, we ventured out into downtown Nassau and had fun haggling with street vendors. If you do it right, you can get the price down to almost half of what they start off at.
Comfort Suites was clean, service was prompt and the people were very nice and polite—all the people in Nassau were extremely nice. It’s a couple minutes walking distance to Atlantis and overall was the best deal that we’ve found. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a fun relaxing time. We loved it, and would go back in a flash.

Smart value, with a friendly staff Visited: May 2001 |

We stayed at Comfort Suites for our honeymoon. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Our room was large, clean, and decorated nicely. This is a smart value for consumers who want the glitz of the Atlantis without the price tag. The Atlantis is within easy walking distance, and we had no problems using any of their facilities. We saved quite a bit of money per night, enabling us to engage in such things as, the dolphin swim, deep sea fishing, a show, etc. I would suggest this hotel to anyone. I truly felt we were smart consumers with this choice. In addition we had a chance to see a beach tower room in Atlantis, the rooms at Comfort Suites were much better, and bigger! |

Comfort Suites was great. It is not as expensive as other resorts in the area. You get an excellent value for your money. You also get access to all of the activities and entertainment at Atlantis. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is great. I would definitely return to Comfort Suites. |

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Comfort Suites in March 2001 during college spring break and had a great time.
We couldn't believe we got full access to Atlantis. Most people could only get in the casino, but we had full access to the pools, beaches, restaurants. It was great.
I recommend staying at the Comfort Suites to anyone who wants to stay at Atlantis, but can't afford it. You get everything for a fraction of the cost. We have already booked a return trip for this year. |

This hotel has ordinary, somewhat flimsy rooms. Atlantis itself is okay, but can be visited for a minimal per person daily charge. Sullen apathetic service. Everything costs extra. $6 hotdogs and $8 hamburgers at the "complimentary" poolside barbecue. I would recommend staying at a hotel in Nassau for less money. It’s just a short taxi ride to/from Nassau. |
