Compass Point was the greatest. My husband and I spent our honeymoon here last week and we both agreed it was the best trip we have ever had.
The rooms were killer, the food was fabulous, the beach and pool were both beautiful and the service was awesome.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We'll definitely be back! |

This was the best place I've ever stayed. Visited: April 2003 |

My wife and I needed to get away after a long, cold, snowy Boston winter, and Compass Point was exactly what the doctor ordered. It is not the place to stay if you're into the mega-resort experience. But if you're looking for a nice, relaxing vacation - this is the place.
The colorful rooms were quaint and comfortable and had great ocean views. They were so close to the ocean that the sound of the waves put us right to sleep at night. The staff was incredible- very friendly and helpful.
The food was incredible as well. Dinner was a little pricy, but well worth it because the food was the best we had in Nassau. Breakfast and lunch were equally as good and much more affordable.
If you're looking for some place funky to stay and don't really mind being a $30 taxi ride from shopping and nightlife, Compass Point is the place to stay. I can't wait to return to the "parrot-fish" cabin, sit on the porch with a fine Cuban cigar, and a Bahama Mama and watch the beautiful Bahamian sunset. |

My family and I were looking for a nice place to relax and have fun, and Compass Point was just the thing!
The food was incredible and worth the money. I really enjoyed the huts and all of the vibrant, beautiful, Junkanoo colors of the resort. The staff was incredible as well, very nice and generous, they really made us feel like we were part of a "neighborhood".
The resort had an excellent view and the sunsets were unbelievably amazing. I will definitely be back! |

Off season or just "off"? Visited: September 2002 |

This was my second stay at Compass Point. I don't know if this is due to the fact that it was low-season, but I felt that the service was a bit lacking for such an upscale property. The pool area was untidy with wet towels and glasses left overnight. Things took longer to get. However, the staff that was there was great and housekeeping was immaculate. |

Compass Point was a beautiful, relaxing getaway. Visited: June 2002 |

Our beautiful cottage right by the ocean was terrific. We were looking for a laid-back place to go for a quick escape and Compass Point was perfect.
The amenities and service were good and the food was delicious, especially the grouper fingers.
In June there was periodically a lot of rain, but that just added to the calm, for us at least. The worst part was the mosquito problem at night. The hotel gracefully left a can of OFF in the rooms, but it hardly deterred.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for privacy and beautiful accommodations. We can't wait to go back. |

Far from the madding crowd with good food. Visited: April 2002 |

Mid-April-May is the best time to visit Compass Point because you miss the winter masses and the college kids. It's warm without being hot, and the days are longer.
Ask for Cottage #106 and you will have your own private treehouse by the sea. |

For this much $$ you'd expect better service Visited: March 2002 |

The rooms are great - right on the water, with a porch and two rocking chairs, but a bit rustic. No marble fixtures or rugs - just basic wood floors and bathroom - no great shakes. Bugs can be a problem, and if you can't handle waves, sleep will be too.
For the $300 plus a night they charge you would expect better service. Poolside service is non-existent, and special requests are ignored. Hard to believe they could be when there are only 18 rooms. Some of the staff are wonderful though, while others are sullen and difficult.
We let the management know of our difficulties - the lack of service was especially frustrating b/c I was pregnant and not too mobile - and they promised to get back to us. No word yet, and it's been over five weeks.
If you want a room right on the water with great views of the sunset, this is great, but don't expect much else. |

Wonderful atmosphere and definitely unique. Visited: January 2000 |

This colorful place was a nice change of pace after staying at Atlantis for a few days. At Compass Point you can actually hear the waves crashing against the shore from your room at night. It isn't nearly as posh as some of the hotels on Paradise Island, but the character of the rooms, decor, and staff more than make up for it. Compass Point seemed intimate and uncrowded, and the restaurant was terrific.

A peaceful alternative to the "mega-resorts" Visited: January 2000 |

Compass Point is an excellent resort situated on the West Coast of New Providence. The staff was unfailingly professional, helpful and friendly. The accommodations in cabana and cottage-style huts were rustic, yet very comfortable and well equipped. With taxi, buses and rental cars, you can visit the other parts of the island. We saw many other resorts but we were always happy to return to Compass Point.

After spending 4 nights in Cable Beach (during Spring Break), we were ready for sensory deprivation at its finest. Compass Point blew us away - the georgeous setting ...the wonderful staff ... views to die for...can't think of a better place to relax. Don't miss the yummy rum punch and the johnnybread. My only complaint was the lack of fresh brewed coffee in the restaurant - but you can brew your own to enjoy from your terrace.
Will definitely be back! |

A pretty property, but overrated. Visited: January 2000 |

I wouldn't recommend going in the winter, period. We stayed here in early February, and the unheated (sometimes dirty) pool was barely used. The louvers didn't close well, so we froze at night. While it's nice to hear the waves, early morning also brought the loud traffic and even airplanes!
The property was very small, but that suited my young child well, as did the tiny beach. The food was good (pricey), and there were many nice photo opportunities. I wish the interiors had been as creative as the exteriors.
Great t-shirts. General maintenance needed improvement. Nice staff. Kind of like camp.
