This Radisson hotel is dated, and undergoing a major renovation, which made the price very reasonable for an all-inclusive.
The rooms above the fourth floor are the best (lower floors have a musty smell), and all-inclusive is the only way to go.
We just loved the staff! They were all excellent, and so wonderful to us. If you go, please say "Hi from Seattle" to Gary, Patrick, and Phillip at the pool bar. They were so fun!
Also, the grounds here are fabulous, and the hotel is priced right. |

Along with the previous reviewer's remarks, our experience at this hotel was not what I expected.
As we pulled up to the hotel, I was hoping and praying the hotel was not in fact the Radisson Cable Beach (obviously, my prayer was not answered). When we first arrived, it took over an hour to check in, as they were short staffed (and continued to be during my stay here).
My room smelled like mildew (including the bedding), and the room's view consisted of the side of an apartment building.
The staff all seemed to be rude, and the food was just edible. I would probably never go back to Nassau, or even the Bahamas again.
I did enjoy the drinks, meeting the other guests, and the live entertainment. However, the Bahamas was still not worth a second trip. |

i would definitally not recommend this hotel to any one. since the day we arrived there was no a/c and the service was poor. we had to wait like 45 min. just to get a drink, they had like 1 person doing the reservations for dinner and only 2 people behind the front desk (and they werent very helpful). the pools were run down and the food wasnt very good. we even had a black out and the back-up generator didnt even work and neither did the emergency exit signs. we also got our rooms switched 4 times in 4 nights. we finally left this resort on the 5th day in the morning and went 2 the riu hotel in paradise island. i would recommend that hotel to any1. the service was great, the food, and the people. the beach was even nicer there because at the radisson there was all seaweed everywhere. |

We go to Nassau every year and stay at the Radisson. It's a complimentary junket, so it seemed a little ungrateful to complain. However, this place is so bad that I felt I had to share.
First of all, the hotel looked like it was falling apart. Our room was of sub-Motel 6 quality. On our last visit, we had problems every step of the way. There was no hot water, the safe was not useable (it had been broken into and never repaired), we had funky smelling bed covers, and we had no view (well, we had a view of the dumpsters).
Also, we found the staff to be borderline rude and non-responsive. The food at the in-house restaraunts we visited was bland and overpriced, aoo. Although, the waiter did refer to me as "Governer." Whoopie.
If there's an upside... it would be that the Crystal Palace casino (connected by a mall/tunnel) was very accessible and pretty "loose." We won $900 playing Blackjack! We learned quickly to avoid breakfast at the Radisson, and opted for the Crystal Palace's breakfast buffet, which was not bad. The best area restaraunt we found was called "Indigo" . It was about a mile up the beach, and it was awesome!
My advice would be to book the Crystal Palace (or any other hotel). I've never stayed there, but if you're like us, you'll spend most of your time walking back and forth anyway, so why not just stay there?
I understand that the Radisson will be gutted and refurbished in the next year - boy, does it need it!
Good luck in your travels! |

After a long, brutal winter, my husband and I spent a wonderfully fun and relaxing week at the Radisson Cable Beach Resort. We had a great room with a fantastic view of the ocean and Sandals' Cay, and it couldn't have been more beautiful to look at. The beach was beautiful and the water was absolutely translucent and stunning.
Although there were a lot of spring breakers here, the beach was wonderful. The daytime activities and music could get a little grating, but to sit on that white sand with a pina colada made up for that!
The restaurants were good, although I'd have to say the standout was The Forge, where you choose your own piece of meat (i.e. steak, salmon, chicken) and you grill it yourself at the table.
The entertainment at the Goombay Bar was really great; there was something different every night, and the Motown night was a hoot.
A couple of drawbacks: the servers sometimes ignored us, which could get frustrating. Plus, as my husband and I like to sail, when it got very windy out, the water sports center would not let the Hobie Waves or the Sunfish boats out for rent, which got a little frustrating, too.
But, overall, we had a wonderful vacation and would recommend it to anyone looking for fun and sun in the Bahamas! |

Ten of us have just returned from the Radisson. We came here for our wedding.
The hotel was very nice, the rooms were clean, and the staff was very helpful. The only fault we did have, was the nightly entertainment.
We arriveed New Year's day, so it was not very busy, which was fine for us as we felt we needed a quiet break for our honeymoon. The restaurants were really nice, we enjoyed Advacardo's and the Forge the best, and The Island the least.
I would recommend a wedding at the Radisson. The wedding office staff was so helpful and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place to have gotten married. We will definitely be returning. |

I can't believe most of the reviews I've read. I think they might have been written by Radisson shareholders. I thought the place was very average.
It was somewhat run down, the service I received was okay to poor and the food was okay in the buffet and terrible in the restaurants (except the Forge, which was actually pretty good).
Also, the beach was just ok (especially compared to other Caribbean beaches). The drinks at poolside were absolutely dreadful. In fact, our group didn't even want to order them even though we like to drink.
The activities for the kids were average at best, the tennis courts were all cracked (except one of five) and they were located next to what I think was a sewage processing area. The fitness center had okay equipment, but a lockerroom that you wouldn't even want to change in, much less shower in.
The rooms were okay, though as we walked to our room, the view was of a construction site complete with trailors etc. Also, we thought the service was generally poor.
Bottom line: the people who have written that this place was "excellent," "wonderful" and the like probably have never stayed at a quality hotel or resort. I give it a "thumbs way down". |

We just had a family reunion here over Thanksgiving weekend - four days - with family in from KS, NJ, Chicago, and Denver. We had a fine time.
We had no issues with bad service, as long as you remember you're on island time. The food was good, not the "omigod this is amazing" kind of good, but it was plentiful, fresh and tasty. We were on the all-inclusive plan - maybe if we were paying for each meal we might have felt differently.
They had a good beach, it was not crowded. The hotel staff was all friendly and helpful, as long as you smile and don't treat them like servants. The pool and rooms were clean and well-kept. There was some renovation still going on, but we didn't find any issues with that. It was clear that the property needed renovations - hotels in the tropics age fast.
Nassau seemed much cleaner and safer than other islands I've been to (especially Jamaica and the Dominican Republic). All in all, it was a very nice vacation. |

We just returned from six days at the Radisson and were more than pleased. We traveled with our four children, ages 13, 10, and 4-year-old twins. Everyone had a fabulous time.
The grounds were beautiful and were meticulously maintained. They were large enough to not feel closed in, but small enough that my two older children could negotiate their surroundings on their own. I never felt they could get lost or not find us if they wanted to eat, swim or go off to the room on their own.
Everyone we came across was very friendly and respectful, wanting to make our stay the best possible. We met lots of other families during our stay because the outdoor area was not overwhelmingly big (as we heard the Atlantis could be).
The pools were well kept and never over crowded with people since there were so many pools to choose from. We enjoyed the hourly activities by the Fun Squad by the Edgewater Bar. It allowed my children to do something other than swim, if they needed a diversion from that.
My husband and I thought we would use the services of Camp Junkanoo for the kids. The availability of a kids facility was one of the main reasons we chose the Radisson. However, there was so much for the kids to do during the day with the pool, beach, and Fun Squad activities, that we never used the camp services at all!
As far as the food went, I am still afraid to get on my bathroom scale because of all the food and drinks I had. The all-inclusive was the only way to go. My 13-year-old enjoyed eating as much as he wanted, whenever he wanted. We all did! The food was good, despite some of the reviews I had read prior to our trip.
Bimini was terrific for breakfast and lunch. The Dolphin Grill at poolside was good to take out to eat at the pool. Table service there was slow, though. Definitely order the Portabella Panini. I found Amici to be overated, but still okay. Again, service was wonderful. We ate at The Forge three times. The kids enjoyed grilling at the table. Try the conch chowder. Even the kids loved this one and they are tough critics!
The rooms were acceptable, but by no means deluxe. The air conditioning was fair only, even at the coolest setting. This left our rooms with a bit of a musty smell because of the humidity. I am sure the staff would have accommodated a room change, but we were so busy having a good time, that it did not matter. We were hardly in the room anyway.
I would surely recommend this spot for a wonderful vacation! |

From the word "go", everything was excellent. We asked for a sea view and we were upgraded immediately free of charge. The food was fabulous, particularly Avocados and The Forge.
We only had seven days here and we wished we could have stayed longer. There was a really relaxed atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and more than willing to do anything for you to make your stay memorable. It was a holiday we will never forget! |

My daughter wanted to marry on the beach, and she and her husband-to-be chose the Radisson Cable Beach.
I must say up front that the wedding coordinator did a very nice job, and the ceremony went off without any problems. I would highly recommend people having a destination wedding here.
As far as the rest of the hotel went, the rooms were only fair; a bit musty smelling. As far as service went, I have to say it was lacking in many areas of the resort. The restaurant staff seemed untrained, and numerous employees were quite unfriendly.
However, the food was delicious in every restaurant we ate in. |

We chose this hotel as we wanted to get married on the beach.
We were most impressed with the hotel in general, particularly with the quality and choice of food and restaurants - and the room service was superb.
The beach was beautiful with excellent snorkeling - as other reviews have noted. There was definitely no need to go elsewhere.
The staff in every department was always friendly and helpful - and we particularly liked the housekeeping staff as they turned down our very large bed at night and left chocolates on the nightstand.
It truly was the perfect location and hotel to get married at.
We look forward to returning for our anniversaries! |

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Radisson Cable Beach Resort February 2003 and had a great time. Our room was spacious and, because we had a ground level, we were able to walk right out to the pools/beach.
For the money we paid, it was well worth it. The restaurants were great (especially Islands - the service was excellent)! Also, the facilities were spectacular. It was everything we could ask for in an all-inclusive resort.
We are planning to return this February and are looking foward to another great time. If you are looking for a great vacation for a great price, the Radisson Cable Beach Resort is the place to be! |

This was a beautiful resort. Visited: December 2002 |

My fiance and I spent four nights at the Radisson Cable Beach over New Year's. We had a great time and plan to go back for New Year's again.
We thought the resort was beautiful. We loved the pools, but wished the water was a little warmer. At the swim-up bar, the service was excellent. After our first trip to the bar, the bartenders remembered what we liked to drink and served us quickly on subsequent visits.
We found the food to be better than at some other resorts we have been to. Breakfast was great at Bimini, but if you were on the all-inclusive plan you could have room service deliver breakfast to your room every morning. We had breakfast delivered to the room a couple of times. It was great to sit by the balcony and take in the incredible view from our seventh floor room.
For lunch, definitely go to Bimini, they had quite a selection. The outdoor grill by the pool was not that great and the selection was limited. For dinner, our favorite was The Forge. They sat you with other couples if you were a couple or small group, but we found that it was a great way to meet other people. The food was excellent as was the service.
Amicis was good, but the service was slower. I didn't care for my meal at Islands, but my fiance enjoyed his. I should add that I am a very picky eater and do not eat any seafood, which limits my choices. The food, however, was very good overall.
The nightlife wasn't that spectacular, but the casino next door was always an option. For New Year's Eve, the resort had a party in one of the ballrooms. It was included on the all-inclusive plan, which we didn't know until the day before, but we were still able to get a reservation. They had cocktails, dinner and a live band playing until after the ball dropped. The only problem was that we got our last course at 11:45 pm--I think they were a little under staffed.
Overall, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They treated guests with the same respect that they were treated with. We actually saw other guests behaving badly towards the staff and the staff kept their cool. As for service being slow, guests should really just relax-you are on vacation after all. We had a great time and would recommend this resort and its all inclusive package to anyone. |

We were very impressed with the large, clean, and modern lobby of the Radisson. The clerks were professional, but took forever to check us in.
We had an upgrade coupon with us (from the travel agent) that put us into an 8th floor oceanview room. I recommend booking the cheapest room and asking for a higher floor (6-9). Our room was a nice size and very clean. It definitely was not as nice as rooms I have found in the United States, but it was more than satisfactory.
The view from the room was fantastic. We could see the entire grounds and a 180-degree view of the turquoise ocean! The temperature was perfect - sunny and 83 degree F! They served us top shelf drinks the entire time. You must try the Mango Freeze! Also, the ocean was warm and beautiful. There were no stingrays or jellyfish to be seen. You could grab a raft, go snorkeling, sailing, water biking, surfing, view boarding, or canoeing. Whatever you wanted to do, it was all included!
The restaurant, Amici, provided very good service, good Italian food, and a nice atmosphere. Avocados was not as nice as Amici, but the food was decent and the atmosphere was okay. Bimini offered great breakfast and lunch buffets! They even served late night pizzas and turkey clubs (10:30-midnight). We ate there every day.
At the Forge, you cook your own meat on a table grill and you sit with strangers if there are only two of you. The tables were almost too hot to sit at. The food was decent, and the atmosphere was very cozy. It was worth trying once.
A caution regarding phone calls. Don't even bother trying to call home! The prices were outrageous! Even a 1-800 was $2.60/minute plus $2.50 to connect. Most other calls were $8/min. and up!
Other downsides: Do not get a massage at the Radisson! My fiancé got a massage and it was so painful that he could barely stand up straight afterwards.
In a nutshell, go! And go all-inclusive for sure. I found the rate for 7 nights and 8 days (2 people) to be so reasonably priced and included flights, transfers, hotel, meals, drinks and watersports. It’s definitely well worth the money for a vacation that I will never forget!

I had a honeymoon I will never forget! Visited: October 2002 |

My husband and I are ocean and beach lovers, but unfortunately, living in New york, there's not much in the way of beautiful beaches. So, when it came to our honeymoon, we decided we wanted turquoise water- and that is exactly what we got! Our pictures didn't even do the colors justice! We went all-inclusive, which made things so easy, and carefree.
At first, we did have a problem with the conditions of our hallway. A hurricane passed through not long before we arrived, and there was some flood damage. However, within 24 hours, the carpet was shampooed, and the walls were even painted by the staff!
As others have mentioned, the bathrooms were small, and since they lacked ventilation fans, it would steam up easily from the shower, which led to mildew. However, the staff cleaned the room very well for us every day.
The food was fabulous (which is why I gained seven pounds!). And we never had a problem getting a drink. All of the bars were open at any time of the day.
The service was extremely friendly. Yes, the Bahamians were on their own clock, and generally, they ran a little slower than the rest of the world, but that was why we went on vacation- to get away from the rat race!
There were always things to do on the beach during the day. The staff had organized games like beach bingo, limbo contests, and name that tune. We didn't even need to leave our beach chairs to participate! In fact, many guests from the Marriott resort just next door checked out of their rooms to register at the Radisson. Also, music played all day long, which got us into the "tropical mood', and we actually missed it when we left!
We went snorkeling at the rocks near the perimiter of the beach (for free) and we found colorful fish, small coral, tiny jellyfish, and even a baby Barricuda. We also took an organized bike tour of the island (free) and learned a lot about the locals and the history of the island. We even saw Sean Connery's home on the island! Our guide showed us conch and sea urchin in a tidal pool not far from the resort.
My husband and I enjoyed every aspect of our honeymoon. We were able to get away from it all, and were sad to return. I have recommended this resort to several people and I hope they, too, enjoy their stays!

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. The room was clean and decent, but not anything special for honeymooners. We didn't get a specail room or any favors that other resorts do just for honeymooners.
The pools were awesome and never crowed, but they did get loud with a lot of children. The food was yummy, but after the fourth day I was disgusted with it all. If we ordered room service, we could get things that the other resturants did not serve and that helped me a lot.
The hotel staff was very cordial. The yards were landscaped wonderfully for photos and we took advantage of them all. We stayed poolside to avoid the menacing sales people on the beach.
The bars were clean and stocked, but the only brands of beer available were Kalick (Bahamian beer that was quite bitter and horrible), Hienekin and Miller Lite. We made do with what was available.
It would also have helped to have some night life outside for the vacationers and not just the private parties. It would have been wonderful to dance oceanside instead of watch private parties have so much fun.
The casino in the nearby hotel was old and smelled of cigarettes of years past. Beware of the 7-11 type stores along the way to the casino. One can of $2.99 shaving cream cost us nearly $8.99, and a $6.99 paperback was nearly $15.00. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time and might even go back.
We would come back for a visit, but not as honeymooners. I think honeymooners would be disappointed for sure. |

I don't even know where to start. The place is poorly run. Conquest rated this as a 5-star, give me a break! The room was very basic with a toilet that would not stop running, that I can live with. The attitude of most of the staff that we encountered was very rude. When we got there late Sunday we were told that we could get some food in the buffet restaurant but Take Out only; that in itself was a joke. A planeload of people at a resort waiting for Take Out because we were not allowed to sit down. The waitress from the seventies TV show 'What's Happening' is not pleased to see any of us, as will fill out the paper work to get our lame pizza. The cooks are having fun turning on and off the lights in order to give the hint that we are not wanted. The food was very basic and the buffet for lunch was always the same - reheated leftovers and spoiled fruit. Don't they have any descent fruit or cheese in the Bahamas? You cannot get any alcohol in the restaurants at lunch time but you can go get it at the bar and bring it to the table but no wine is available. I don't remember the names of any of the restaurants because they were so brutal. For our anniversary we went to one where you cook the food yourself. I thought this would be a great chance to cook ourselves a descent meal before we had to go back home. They sat us at a four top with a grill in the centre and we thought this should be fun until they sat another couple across from us; all four of us were shocked.
The only thing that the Radisson couldn't screw up was the beach and the ocean. You do have to put up with the peddling all over the property. If you lay on the beach for a couple of hours the same lady will ask you four or five times if you want to buy a bracelet. My wife got scolded by the towel lady for keeping her beach towel over night, can't be doing that. No activities going on whatsoever. Nightly entertainment was sad except for a lovely piano player in the downstairs bar. No one was ever listening to her because that bar is never open. They only like to have 2 bars going at once, that way we can all line up like cattle. They should have two line ups for the bar - One for the drinks and the other for the paper work that you have to fill out to get the drinks. I could go on and on and on. If I could stop just one person from going to this over priced hotel, my purpose in life will be complete. Don't do it!

I thought that this was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. It is marketed as a 4+ star hotel and I would give it no more then a 2 Star rating. There are so many complaints that it is not worth setting them out - we moved to the Atlantis resort after 48 hours of it. Main points of note will be the serious humidity/damp problem which the hotel has. They only part of the hotel which does not smell damp and musty is the beach. We moved rooms twice and the smell was constantly present. If you're fat and want to get fatter regardless of the quality of the food and service then this is the place for you. Surrounded by big americans eating. Plates, dirty glasses and empty beer cans are strewn all around the pool and beach area. I think they only clean up once and at the end of the day. Any suggestion that this is a quality hotel is fanciful.Stay away unless you want cheap, and actually their prices are not cheap. All in all a very bad experience. |
