Grab a light meal or snack at one of the outdoor tables with red umbrellas and tablecloths, or settle inside the cozy interior. Billed as a "Parisian sidewalk cafe," it really does have a European feeling. Sample the cracked conch, hamburger, fried chicken or lobster tail. (close) |

As its name suggests, that is just the hope of this popular upscale yet casual eatery. KB's Chat 'n Chill is located in the cove of Stocking Island in Exuma, Bahamas. All food is prepared daily on an open wood flame grill. Customers flock from all over the world for a cold Kalik (Bahamian Brewed Beer), Conch Burgers, Ribs, Pig Roast, Garlic "Cabbage" Slaw and Native Peas 'n' Rice. It's the place to be on Sundays for their famous Pig Roast or for Ribs, Rum & Rock 'n' Roll on Tuesdays. Quality food in a comfortable atmosphere is what you'll find in what they've named "barefoot elegance." So kick off your shoes and rest your tired feet while experiencing Bahamian dining at its relaxed best! (close) |

It was the Caribbean's first 5-star restaurant and is now a staple among those looking for 'the' place to go. Featuring Continental and Bahamian cuisine, the Graycliff boasts that their dishes will satisfy more than your palate. (Their culinary expertise mixed with artistic refinement will prove to be a treat to the eye, as well!) Cap off your dinner with a cognac or one of their fine cigars. Bon Appétit! (close) |

(more)We recently dine at Lucianos(Feb 2nd,2007) in Freeport, Bahamas and we almost forgot that we were in the Carribean. Coming from food capital of the world NYC and Lucianos served up one of the best carribean food I had in awhile. It was just 2 of us plus our small 18 month old son. We had great expectations and wanted to try everything from King crab claws, pastas, lobster creol, duck, and shrimp so we ended up ordering 5 dishes for both of us! You need big wallet for this place because appetizer starts at close to $20.00 per order and entrees from $30 to $80.00 +drinks. Lots of older "seniors citizens" and local bahamians dine here. You can just see by the way matre'd(tall, thin, bahamian fellow) greets the locals while purposely make tourists/visitors wait around by letting them stand around or to the side of the restaurants (watch out!!). Definately favoritisim to the locals here! Staff seems very eager to help but slow and very slow service is the way it is around here especially at this restaurant. You're on vacation...so be prepare to wait.. We felt that we were mistreated so definately we wouldn't give them any future businesses when we make another visit next time around. Another good choice of alternative is Harbour City which is around the corner and many selection of seafoods/pastas for half the price and best of all.. a real true warm carribean greetings with no attitude and also has a better view of the Marina.

An eclectic menu of international and local favorites, from Thai Lettuce Wraps to Chimichurri Grilled Beef Tenderloin to Bratwurst & Sauerkraut. Best of all, they brew great beer! They've already won three gold and three silver medals at The World Beer Championships! The ambience is wonderful, too. Sit on our covered deck and watch the ducks play on the century-and-a-half old mill pond on Cibolo Creek, have an intimate dining experience in one of our lakehouse-style dining rooms, or sit at the wraparound bar and talk beer with the brewmaster. Established in 1955 its local, eclectic decor is just the beginning of what you'll find in this rare jewel of a hang-out. Inside, walls are lavishly littered with record album covers and sports posters and hint at the days of old on tiny islands. A mostly-locals stomping ground that's fast turning into a sought-after tourist attraction, come in for a welcome rum punch and stay for dancing (the indoor basketball court is transformed into a Friday and Saturday night dance floor). Perfect taste of Bahamian hospitality! (close) |
