| I really suggest you stay at another resort on Paradise Island and just do a day-trip to Atlantis. You'll get far more for your money. You'll get the essence of Atlantis and avoid overpriced rooms, overpriced meals, overpriced photos and bling. Atlantis is not a magical dream maker. It is a private money-maker, hungry for your next credit card swipe. If you decide to go, you'll be hit by a whole list of what might be unexpected charges--something like a cruise ship with its excursions and tips but far more expensive. Not only that, but the employees are short on smiles and helpfulness. You'll find that only when you have your credit card or cash in hand. So bring money, and plenty of it. Also, bring your own vacation enthusiasm, as Atlantis has its own priorities: money, money, money. |

I got food poisoning. Visited: October 2009 |

| I stayed here two days, and somewhere along the line I got food poisoning. The resort was amazing, and everything was really nice. However, I would never ever go back because of the food problem I had. I ate at Nobu, Marketplace, Johnny Rockets and Murray's Deli. Now that I think of it, any of those meals could have caused it because they all tasted and seemed "off". I suggest you go to Vegas instead. |

| I would definitely stay here again. They had great rooms, a wonderful location, and the price was good. There were two pools and the ocean for swimming. It was close to anything and everything. We also received great service. The wedding on the beach here was beautiful, too. If you are coming to the Bahamas, look up Captain Kirk! |

| We stayed in the Royal Towers, and enjoyed a room with a great view. We watched the yachts, the sunsets, and the sunrises! The hotel staff was very attentative, and the food was great. The Bahamians were friendly, the room was very clean, and we felt safe. In addition, the casino was fantastic! Slots paid! The blackjack dealers were kind of slow, but fun! It was more friendly here than in Atlantic City. The dealers were very friendly, and we felt comfortable playing. This will be a yearly vacation for sure. It was our fifth trip! |

| The Comfort Suites was a great deal, and we had an amazing time! It was cheaper than staying at Atlantis, but we still got full access to everthing Atlantis had to offer! It was right on the property, so we didn't have to walk far. We could also buy drinks at Atlantis with our Comfort Suites room key. I am staying here again this year, and I strongly recommend it to others! Happy travels! |

Beware of this resort. Visited: May 2009 |

| The good news is, yes, I survived the trip. The bad news is, besides the weather, nothing else was really good about the trip. My mom, my friend, and I were all surprised that Apple Vacations would represent this hotel. From what I heard about resorts, this was nothing like it. As far as our room went - the bathroom fan didn't work; our view was of some sort of giant dump next door; the room and hotel smelled of mildew; and the ceiling was black from filth. In addition, the shower had mildew; the sheets were stained; the refrigerator didn't work; and there were cracks in the window. When we asked for a room change, initially we were told we were already upgraded and had to speak with an Apple representative. We called home immediately and told my dad about this. He said that he would call the travel agent first thing in the morning. At 9:00 a.m. the following morning I received a text from my dad asking what room number we were in and that an Apple representative would be in touch shortly - shortly being 11:00 a.m. When the Apple representative called, they had no answers for us about hotel/resort openings or about room changes in our own hotel. We were then told that she would call us back after she checked availability, and in the meantime for us to see about a room change again. This time we were granted a chance to switch rooms. However, when we went to check out the other room, the only difference was that the view was better. By 11:30 a.m. we were tired of wasting our time in the Bahamas, and wanted to go see the area. We went downstairs and spoke with a Majestic Tours representative who got us in touch with Apple only to find out that nothing was available. As far as restaurants went, there was one "fine dining restaurant" if you would call it that. The food was mediocre at best, and the stained seats just topped it off. The other choices for food were the pool bar with an extremely limited menu, and a buffet (which was really a cafeteria) with, yet again, mediocre food and limited selections. Oh, and the nightly entertainment was one night with crotches, chests, and bottoms hanging out. The male dancer had a giant hole in his crotch while doing Michael Jackson movements. The female dancers had spandex outfits on where their bras and underpants were hanging out. The private lagoon was really nice... not! It was a tiny, dirty-looking area where numerous boats drove by daily. It's pretty bad when almost every other party we ran into here was unsatisfied. One poor girl was even in tears. Better yet, an employee of Majestic Tours asked us how we got stuck here (we were stuck here because of swine flu - we were supposed to be in Mexico). She told us how she wouldn't want to be stuck here either. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Apple shouldn't recommend it to their customers, either. If they do, one of them should have to go and stay at this paradise "dump" (this term was passed down by another unhappy vacationer). We spent together a combination of $2,400 - and for what I don't know. |

| The resort is nice if you get a deal. I would never pay full price to stay here. I went down with a friend for my birthday, and when I told them that at check in, they gave us an upgraded room! This was very nice of them. However, the room had a leaky A/C, so we had to move before we killed ourselves on the slippery floor. The next room was bigger, but the view was not nearly as nice. Also, the people below us let their dog do it's duty on there terrace (at least we hoped it was a dog!). That's not something you want to wake up to! The bathtub faucet felt like it would come out of the wall when we went to take a shower. Also, the toilet was loose so it moved when we sat on it. Finally, the hot tub and the little beach were kind of nasty. However, the pool was okay. The good things: The staff was nice; the drinks were great; and the food was decent. We were able to have a relaxing time and meet some great people. I didn't see Action Jackson this trip. However, I did in January at Club Land'or. He was awesome. If you go, try to watch his show! Overall, the good outweighed the bad. I would stay here again if I got a deal like this time. Also, I love Paradise Island it is a beautiful place. |

It was not worth it. Visited: February 2009 |

| The hotel room was simply fine. It was not worth the huge per night rates, though. There was a lot of "nickel and diming" - energy charges, maid charges, water charges, and pool charges tacked on to the bill at per person rates. Easily, these items totaled $100 additional daily. The pools were not heated at all. Despite staff telling me to my face that some were. They were freezing cold, and nobody was in them. The pools and grounds were amazing, but useless because of pool temp. Be careful to read your bill daily and correct any wrong charges, such as minibar charges that you did not incur. |

| We stayed in the Riu in May on our honeymoon, and we would go back in a flash. We had an upgraded ocean view room on arrival with the most amazing views from our huge balcony - the sunset and risze were amazing. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches and surroundings. The food was fantastic, and when we made our reservations for the Steakhouse, we did not have to line up for more than a couple of minutes. We found the buffet restaurant more than enjoyable with traditional Bahamian food each evening to sample. The only thing I would say was that the room could have benefitted from a lick of paint - but for all the time we spent in it that didn't matter. The pool was slightly smaller than we expected, but who needs a pool when it is a 20-second walk into the tropical, warm ocean? We had an amazing stay, and we were actually quite emotional leaving some of the staff as we were looked after so well. I can't wait until we go back. |

Stay away from Riu Paradise Hotel. Visited: December 2008 |

| We were not happy with the room provided to us. The room (bathroom) was dirty. The pictures advertised on web site are very deceiving, and were a total misrepresentation. It was definitely not a five-star accommodation. A male staff member entered our locked room without knocking. I had gotten out of shower. Aside from being totally mortified, I quickly covered. The guy said there was leak coming from faucet. The front desk person called saying she had to move us. Her attitude toward us was unacceptable. The way that she handled the situation was totally unprofessional, since she told me to go over to the Atlantis Hotel. This is not how a five-star resort should be run or how guests should be treated. The staff told us it was not their fault, but it was our travel agents fault for not informing us about their poor conditions. In addition, the second room had brown stains on the sheets, and the room was dirty. We called numerous times for someone to come up to change our sheets. No one ever showed up. I have never been so disgusted, not only with the unprofessional service and attitude, but with the unsatisfactory condition of the hotel and the dirty room(s) that were provided. For the expensive rate we paid for our trip, I was 100% dissatisfied and could not wait to return home after our second night. The hotel should not advertise the hotel as being a five-star hotel when it does not provide the services and accommodations of a five-star. This property definitely does not deserve a five-star rating based upon my previous experiences while on holiday where the resorts were immaculately maintained, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that their guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The Riu Paradise has a long way to go in terms of customer service. |

There's really no service to speak of. Visited: April 2008 |

| We stayed at the Cove, as we were looking for a first class type of vacation and accommodation. The building was beautiful. However, the staff and management require about six months of training on how to run a hotel and deal with customers. On our third night here, we were tired and wanted to order room service. There was no menu in the room, so we called and asked for one. One hour later when we called back, we were informed that the hotel could not locate a menu and was reluctant to go over the menu on the phone. Finally, they stated about five items. Towel service was always hit and miss. Finally, on our last night all we had was bath towels - no face cloths or hand towels. At 4 pm I called to get some face cloths, at 5:30 I called again. After two more calls, we finaly received a couple of hand towels (as the staff could not find face cloths). When checking out the next day, I informed the clerk of this and got no response other than a look like I was from another planet. We will never stay at the Cove again, and will take every chance we get to warn others away from this place. |

There seems to be a loss of focus here. Visited: August 2008 |

| This was our third visit. The first two were great! This last visit, we experienced a resort that was all about selling you condos and things. We were not pampered - but were just a number. The lack of maintenance was everywhere - from rust and breaks in the outdoor lighting fixtures to broken mirrors in the casino itself. The bathroom doors had to be pried open. The quality of the food has dropped - except at the WatersEdge. Also, they have created a village shops area that is strictly Disney-transparent cold. It is beautiful and an eyeful with fish everywhere. However, you always feel the need to keep moving. Nothing is close anymore. Instead of relaxing, we found ourselves making excuses to not walk three blocks to a certain area or the ocean. In addition, the noise level was frequently loud in the lobbies and fine dining areas. The dress code does not exist anymore. Our first two visits were the exact opposite. The staff was attentive. We had no towels in our room, and the table's finish had blistered. We received the towels promptly, though. Another couple had a malfunction with their room key, and had to wait hours for the problem to be corrected and access their room. The resort has evolved into a place to see or be seen. We wanted a resort to feel special and relax with fine dining. We hope it returns to its original mission so we can return. Now, it is the perfect destination for the "new money" crowd. |

This was a nightmare in Paradise. Visited: August 2008 |

| The rooms need refurbishing. The pool and pool area were very run down. Some guests sang and shouted at the pool bar until about 5:00 am without security telling them that they were disturbing the guests in the hotel (as well as the guests in the hotel next door!). The lifts were always breaking down. There was a limited choice of food - which was also poorly prepared. Every time I ate in any of the restaurants, I got food poisoning. The restaurant staff was very unhelpful, and only served us when they felt like it. It seemed as if they would rather chat amongst themselves. All in all, this was a nightmare in paradise! |

| On our recent stay, we took the opportunity to enjoy a stop at Viola's a number of times. We enjoyed the casual outdoor atmosphere whether we were eating prior to sightseeing, or just taking a break from the pool. The food was delicious and appealing - to both kids and adults. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered from appetizers and meals to beer and fun cocktails. Viola's was clean and inviting, and the staff was very friendly. It was a treat to have such a great place so close! |

| What a disappointment! Sure, the hotel was fancy and expensive, but the service was poor, the food was mediocre, and I might as well have stayed in the US! This is a stupid way for anyone to visit another country. Resort vacations are not for me. I did not get to experience the culture of the Bahamas. What a bore. At least I was not the one who paid for it! |

| The resort was amazing. Sure, some people have said the staff was rude and concieted. However, you would be too if you had to work and couldn't have fun at one of the best places in the world. I thought the food was spectacular. I have been here four times, and have not gotten food poisoning. I think the facilities were very nice, too! The resort is family friendly with slides, a lazy river, and more. They have nice shopping facilities, and the casino is beautiful. |
