It was nicely situated on a beautiful white sandy beach. Visited: February 2003 Posted by thekuhns We would like to keep the Bagshot a secret, but we just had to let people know how much we loved this place! The beautiful white sandy beach was uncrowded, the water was calm because of the coral reef not far off shore. The restaurant was first rate and sat almost right on the beach. Chef Bernadette's Seafood Crepes and Banana Rum Fritters were fantastic! The new owners Ravi and Sandrina, the bartender Seymore, Rawl, Tanja, Sophia, and Michelle were all warm and friendly and did everything they could to make sure we had a great stay in Barbados. We loved our second floor room with a balcony overlooking the sea. St. Lawrence Gap for nightlife was just a short walk away. 1 users found this review helpful. 0 found this review unhelpful. My first impression was 'Faulty Towers in the sun'. I wanted to be moved. It took me less than a day to change my mind, two days to enjoy it, and three to fall in love with it! The front of this place was not it's best feature, but go out the back onto the beach and enjoy! The room was basic, but an ideal base for a brilliant holiday.The staff was fantastic and so friendly. Check out Bernadette's cooking in the restaurant, which was basically on the beach. It was perfect for a romantic meal. Fall into the 'Bajan way' and love it. The Bagshot House is an excellent pad. Visited: March 2000 Posted by morman_07036 I stayed at the Bagshot House and was very impressed with the courtesy extended to me by the Gomes'(Andrew and Wendy). The restaurant and bar were excellent. The room I stayed in was a good value and within easy walking distance to all of the action of the St. Lawrence Gap. Do exercise caution when crossing the street. Bajans drive on the left side of very narrow roads at high speed. The hotel is located on a curve in the road. Americans must reverse very natural reflexes when crossing the street. A strategically located speed bump or two would solve the problem.
