We didn't feel this resort was worth it! Visited: December 2003 |

We stayed at Turtle Beach over the New Year holiday and were not impressed to say the least.
My family of four traveled with our friends (family of five). We had a "suite". However, it was a little bigger than a regular room. The pull-out bed was so uncomfortable that I let my sons (ages 10 and 12) alternate sleeping with us on the king-sized bed.
We thought the food was only average at best. We had the same boring, bland breakfast every morning. This resort seemed to cater to the British as it seemed evident in the types of food found here.
The women who worked here never cracked a smile-the men were more friendly. Our friends did not have hot water for four days, but were compensated with a credit at the end of our stay.
The beach was clean, but not too big. The waves were good for our kids but could be a little rough at times.
I would never come back here. I also found Barbados to not be as wonderful as other islands I have visited. |

A fantastic time was had by all. Visited: October 2003 |

We have just returned from our wedding at the Turtle Beach Resort, and we all had a fantastic time (all 19 of us).
The hotel was great, the food was plentiful and the children were cared for at all times. The drinks were also plentiful and they offered good quality wine and spirits.
The wedding itself was completely stress free as everything was arranged by the activities coordinator at the hotel. We got married in the hotel garden overlooking the sea and then we had sunset pictures taken on the beach. It was then back to the bar followed by a meal in the restaurant - what a great day!
The only complaints I would have is that the hotel rooms, although clean and spacious were a bit bland and could do with a bit more of a tropical feel to them. Also, the evening menu at the Waterfront restaurant could do with a bit of variation.
However, all in all the holiday/wedding was a great success. In addition, as I had never visited the Caribbean before, I found this website and reviews extremely helpful when deciding where to go and stay. |

We had a great time! Visited: September 2003 |

We have just returned from two weeks at the Turtle Beach Resort and all in all, we had a great time.
The food was excellent, the best all-inclusive we have ever experienced and the drink was plentiful - definitely try the cocktails! The service was good, up until the last night when it seemed the hotel was getting busier but there was fewer staff!
The rooms were lovely and clean. Even though ours was officially only a pool/garden view, we still had a side view of the ocean.
A previous comment that there was not much to do after 11:00 pm was right, but the bar was still open, so that was fine for us!
Swimming pools were nice and clean at the beginning of our stay, but needed a good clean by the end of it. We only saw one person in the two weeks cleaning, so that needs to be improved.
Beach traders were plentiful, but we never came across any who were rude, they just wanted to chat and then sell you something. But if you said "no", they were fine.
To sum up, we had a brilliant holiday, and would definitely go back if there weren't so many places to visit in the world! |

Myself and my fiance Wayne visited the Turtle Beach Hotel for our first holiday abroad together after nearly 8 years. The Hotel was absolutely fantastic from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The staff were all very helpful (okay they forgot things a couple of times but it's the Caribbean way of life for you!). The food was fabulous, I am a vegetarian and resigned myself before we went to having to eat pretty much the same meal every night but in 2 weeks we didn't eat the same meal twice! The Chelonia Restaurant changed the menu every day that we were there. The swimming pools (all 3 of them) were very large and warm, as was the jacuzzi. We even sampled room service which was also exceptional! I would recommend people to visit the Harbour Lights club for a great night out with an awesome floor show and even a treasure hunt for bottles of rum! We had a Junior Suite Ocean View room which was also lovely with exceptional views of the Ocean. My only drawbacks would be that the Waterfront Restaurant was closed in the evening (for re-decoration) for most of our stay so we weren't able to sample the food in there in the evening but the Chelonia and Asiagos (the Italian) more than made up for that. The sellers on the beach were a bit of a nuisance selling anything from aloe vera to hair braiding but when you had said no once they tended to leave you alone! All in all, I would heartily recommend anyone to stay at Turtle Beach and hopefully I will visit there again someday! |

My fiance and I visited the Turtle Beach Resort for our first holiday abroad together after nearly eight years. The resortl was absolutely fantastic from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
The staff was very helpful (okay they forgot things a couple of times but it's the Caribbean way of life for you!). The food was fabulous, I am a vegetarian, and resigned myself before we went to having to eat pretty much the same meal every night. But in two weeks, we didn't eat the same meal twice! The Chelonia Restaurant changed the menu every day that we were here.
The swimming pools (all three of them) were very large and warm, as was the jacuzzi. We even sampled room service which was also exceptional! I would recommend people to visit the Harbour Lights Club for a great night out with an awesome floor show and even a treasure hunt for bottles of rum!
We had a Junior Suite Oceanview room, which was also lovely with exceptional views of the ocean. My only drawbacks would be that the Waterfront Restaurant was closed in the evening (for re-decoration) for most of our stay, so we weren't able to sample the food there in the evenin. But the Chelonia and Asiagos (the Italian) more than made up for that.
The vendors on the beach were a bit of a nuisance selling anything from aloe vera to hair braiding. But when we said no once, they tended to leave us alone!
All in all, I would heartily recommend anyone to stay at Turtle Beach and hopefully I will visit here again someday! |
