5.0 stars It was too good for words to explain. Visited: October 2004

Three friends and I have just spent a very memorable week at Sandy Lane on a golf trip, and we consider ourselves very fortunate indeed.

Every aspect of Sandy Lane was impeccable, from the warm and friendly welcome of all of the staff to the attention to detail in the rooms. I especially liked that everything could be done by remote control panels. You don't even have to do your own packing, as a courtesy service was provided should you so wish to avail yourselves of it.

As for the golf courses - well we only managed to play four rounds on the Country Club course, and it was in immaculate condition, with grass seeds being putting down to replace your divots by the caddies, who were top guys with advice right on the button each time.

We didn't get to play Green Monkey but spoke to a number of other guests who said it was a truly wonderful course.

A few special thanks to Gillian, our concierge; Adrian the Beach Bar manager; Sean and Brandon, our caddies; and general thanks to everyone at the hotel. I can't speak for the others, but I shall be returning - next time with my wife!

5.0 stars The Four Seasons could take lessons from Sandy Lane. Visited: January 2004

I consider a Four Seasons property to be the best in the industry, and this place was twice as good. From the food to the cleanliness, this was tops.

The general manager made it a point to see as many guests as he could every day. We were here for four days, and I spoke with him five times. I thought he liked my wife, but then realized he spoke to everyone!

We are planning our next trip for spring break right now. Five stars would not be enough for Sandy Lane.

5.0 stars Sandy Lane was beyond spectacular. Visited: November 2003

We've stayed at many world-class resorts, (including Four Seasons in Hawaii), and Sandy Lane was far-and-away the most incredible. From the room appointments, the beach area and the pool, to the spa, the cuisine and the staff - this place was truly sublime.

It was worth every penny and more. I cannot wait to return to Sandy Lane.

I have stayed in many five-star hotels. I can say that I have never stayed in a hotel where I could not find some room for improvment. Sany Lane proved this theory wrong. Words cannot describe the attention to detail!

We could only afford to stay for a short time whilst in Barbados, but wow, what a place! Sandy Lane was the ultimate five-star Caribbean hotel.

Everything was outstanding. The design, both interior and exterior was so good that we took pictures of pieces of furniture, flooring, the rooms, etc. to get ideas for our own home (dream home that is).

The spa just took our breath away and the range of treatments was both unusual and luxurious. There was even a cool room where ice slowly dropped into a bowl, and a relaxation room where the mini lights in the ceiling changed color and soothed away stresses.

The swimming pool was fantastic in its design and it featured a huge waterfall. And in the restaurant - we've never experienced such a high class service and we've been to many nice places.

I won't say anymore, just save up your money and go and see for yourself.

5.0 stars This is one of the greatest hotels in the world! Visited: June 2002

Having recently returned from Sandy Lane in Barbados, I long to return as fast as possible.

The hotel is a spectacular property in all aspects including rooms, staff and overall excellence in everything. No expense seems to have been spared to make this the best hotel in the Caribbean and among the best in the world.

Prices are high, but unlike other so called "world class" hotels, at Sandy Lane - you get what you pay for and more.

5.0 stars Sandy Lane was breathtaking. Visited: April 2002

We recently had our wedding at The Sandy Lane Hotel and booked accommodations for the week.

The hotel was everything we expected - and more. The staff was extremely friendly and professional, and the rooms were magnificent.

We originally planned to stay and host our wedding at The Fairmount, but that hotel could not compare to The Sandy Lane, which I must say was one of the finest hotels in the Caribbean.

On the day of our wedding, the staff was able to easily coordinate our 45 out of town guests. Furthermore, our wedding day went off without a hitch, thanks to the Banquet Manager Gerry Lewis.

Also, be sure to take time out and spend a day at the spa.

This hotel was more expensive than most of the hotels on the island, but it was well worth every dime. We will definitely be back for our one-year anniversary.

I stayed at Sandy Lane in ‘94 and ‘95 and it was great. This time was my family’s first time here since the refurbishment and its even better. It’s great for kids with loads of activities and all around good vibes.

The downside is of course the price, but it’s not as bad as has been suggested in some newspapers. With all of the complimentary activities the price comes down from insane to just a bit nuts. Once I've saved up a bit, I'm going back!
