I had a wonderful holiday, and will return. Visited: October 2006 Posted by steve_mill I have been to Barbados six times, and stayed at the Yellow Bird twice. They have wonderful staff, and are in a wonderful location. The sunsets opposite the hotel are amazing, and should be enjoyed with copious amounts of Mount Gay rum and a smile. The staff at both the Bay Bistro and the Yellow Bird could not have been more welcoming. Some reviews mentioned the noise from the local "Reggae Lounge" most evenings. Yes, you can hear loud music from this venue, but after the first night, the noise was not a problem. In fact, the music was part of the holiday and was a reminder that we were holidaying on Barbados and that the island had a diversity of entertainment. We have a six-year-old daughter who slept right through the music every evening. We are already planning our next visit, hopefully this time for four weeks in the summer of 2007. Go, enjoy, and relax. Meet the people, enjoy extended conversations with the staff about how poor English Cricket has become and be ready for the holiday of a lifetime at Yellow Bird. 3 users found this review helpful. 0 found this review unhelpful. The view from the room was the best in Barbados! Also, the staff at the Yellow Bird and the Bay Bistro were extremely friendly, and the food was delicious. The location was perfect; bus stop around the corner, close to supermarkets and the Gap. Some in our group found the music from the clubs late at night disturbing their sleep. Visited: October 2004 Posted by azulbgi I spent eight days and nights of holiday bliss. It was true what they have said about the view from the room. I saw beautiful sunsets that were picture perfect. The Bay Bistro downstairs served the best food in the Gap (at the best prices, too). All the staff were truly nice - the maids, reception and restaurant staff. The restaurant owners Michelle and Nigel were also very nice, and really professional. They made our stay. The Yellow Bird has friendly staff and a great view! Wow! Visited: August 2004 Posted by mkarb68 We stayed here during Hurricane Ivan and all of the staff were so lovely - the maids, receptionists and the restaurant staff. Nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived, all of the supermarkets were closed due to the storm and the restaurant owner packed us some food supplies for the night! The view was absolutely incredible to wake up to! It was just a perfect picture postcard view. The food at their bistro downstairs was very tasty and much better priced than other restaurants in St. Lawrence Gap. It is a comfortable, clean, basic accommodation with great views. Visited: January 2002 Posted by ivan_mclean Although there was major refurbishment going on when we stayed, the location and views of this small friendly hotel were second to none. Located at the top of The Gap made it very easy to get out night and day without the use of transport. Watching the sun go down from our huge balcony was perfect at the end to a day!
