we needed an overnight in barbados for rest and recuperation.
sweetfield manor supplied it all- beautiful room, excellent hosts, beautiful grounds and view, delightful pool and fantastic breakfast.
my daughter and her family had stayed here at easter and said we couldn't leave the caribbean without stopping here. she was absolutely right! |

My trip to Barbados became an unforgettable experience thanks to the amazing hospitality and warmth of George and Ann's B&B.
The attention to detail was remarkable, from the fresh cut flowers to the delicious multi-course breakfasts (especially the Lemon-Ricotta pancakes!). I can't wait until my next vacation because I know that it will include a stay at Sweetfield Manor.
To say the least, the bar has been raised. |

Despite Barabdos' hot, hot days, I found myself more than comfortable. There was plenty of shady getaways on the property and cold refreshments (like the Strawberry and basil iced tea Annie makes) - mmm! Also, there was the beautiful, unbelievable pool to cool off in.
Being all the way from New England, I was not used to seeing so many hummingbirds. They were just everywhere, and you could get right up close.
I can't fail to mention the amazing, five-star food Annie whipped up. It was totally worth the trip - my husband and I are even considering renewing our vows here. It would be the perfect spot for a wedding!
But I will definitely be back either way! |

This is the best gem in the Caribbean. Visited: July 2009 |

Sweetfield Manor in Barbados is a true gem in the Caribbean. With lots of charm and history, I felt like I was talking a walk back in time. The house is wonderfully decorated and the grounds are lush and colorful.
Anni and George make you feel so welcome. Also, George will greet you with rum punches when you arrive. You never want to leave the table after the gourmet breakfast, either.
I can't wait to go back. |

What a welcome! We arrived after a long flight from London with our three children to be greeted like long lost friends. George made us delicious rum punches while Ann invited the children into her kitchen to find refreshing lemonade.
The home-made zucchini bread was just right, and the lagoon pool, surrounded by colorful tropical plants, birds and monkeys, was exactly what we all needed.
The accommodation was extremely comfortable and we fell into our beds feeling like we had indeed arrived in paradise. Ann and George have created a dream, and they looked after us with great kindness and generosity. They are the loveliest hosts you could hope for.
Our only complaint was that we had to leave after just one night and an amazing breakfast! |

Sweetfield was beautiful. Visited: March 2009 |

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Sweetfield Manor for four nights in March, and had a wonderful experience. Both George and Anne were more than accommodating and made our stay a memorable experience.
We woke up every day to a gourmet breakfast that was so delicious and filling that we really didn't need to eat again until dinner that night. The Inn was decorated beautifully, and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. Also, the pool and hot tub were surrounded by beautiful landscaping. We truly felt like we were in paradise.
This is the only place I will be staying at in Barbados. I will definitely be returning to Sweetfield in the near future. |

This was a Caribbean delight. Visited: February 2009 |

It was like stepping back into a world of peace and luxury. The endless views and sunsets are to be remembered. The wonderful service and enticing food was worthy of a five-star restaurant.
The bedrooms were enchanting and looked out over the sea with the Caribbean breezes wafting through the expansive French doors.
Swimming in the pool at midnight, with the fragance of tropical flowers in the air was an experience I will never forget. Brunch under the trees, with tropical sun peeking through was like a picture postcard.
My stay here is forever a precious memory. |

My girlfriend and I stayed at Sweetfield Manor for a week in February, and we had the best time!
The owners, Anne and George, were the best hosts. Their care and hospitality was felt throughout the house. The gourmet breakfasts were a real treat - and a perfect start to the day.
All the rooms were comfortable, very clean and beautiful. I can´t recommend this place more. It is a truly special find. |

We felt immediately at home! Visited: February 2009 |

What a great place! We arrived from Miami at almost midnight, and the hosts greeted us with smiles, a drink and a late night snack of homemade delicious island soup. We had been dragging, and immediately felt so relaxed at last.
We took an island tour with one of the hosts' favorite cab drivers and saw just about everything. The breakfasts were fantastic each morning, and wished we could have stayed longer. A week just wasn't enough!
We just loved this place, and had a great time. We highly recommend this place. Thanks! |

Wake up in Heaven! Visited: January 2009 |

This was our second stay in two years at Sweetfield Manor, and the place keeps getting better and better!
They have the loveliest pool on the island, and terrific breezes and views. We just love it here. Everything about it is wonderful. It is very easy to relax here, and there are good transport links for exploring the island.
The hosts are very attentive, but not overbearing. The gourmet breakfasts must be eaten to be believed!
The title of this review comes from arriving here in the dark after a long flight from London and waking up in Heaven! |

Try this pearl. Visited: December 2008 |

If you had enough of accommodations trying to fit the needs of the
masses, try this pearl of comfort and easiness! If you want to go away
and find relaxation with hosts that become more friends than managers.
If you want to create a vacation without stress and social obligation,
go to Sweetfield Manor!
With its panoramic ocean view and walking distance to Brown’s Beach
and close proximity to Bridgetown with all sorts of delicious
Caribbean food, restaurants, and jazz we thought it was a perfect
location. At Sweetfield Manor, you can relax your stressed soul by the
pool, on the deck, there are plenty of rooms and places are available
there for every mood.
We flew in from Germany during a cold winter. We found out,
that we didn’t only change our clothes here, but we changed our way
how to live life in a different, relaxed style.
Our thanks go out to Ann and George (Captain) Clarke for the way they
made us feel welcomed. The breakfasts were so great and filling they lasted
us for most of the day! This was a true vacation not just another stay
at another hotel.
We shall return. |

I wish I was at Sweetfield Manor. Visited: December 2008 |

My significant other and I spent two delightful weeks at Sweetfield Manor, and loved every minute of it. I don't usually write reviews, but this place - and the hosts - were worth every minute of my time. I have never been made so welcomed as at Sweetfield Manor.
The hosts - Ann and George - made us feel so welcomed. We felt like friends within a very short time. We received any and all information we needed regarding swimming, beaches, shopping, entertainment, and restaurants. We were also given a grand tour and several smaller ones.
The pictures you see on-line don't really show how beautiful, and how welcoming this place is.
The food was scrumptious. I believe we never had the same breakfast twice - and the cakes! My friend thought he was in heaven. Just an example to what extremes Anne will go to make you feel welcomed. I cannot eat any kind of flour containing gluten. Ann hat organized bread, and baked brownies made with gluten-free flour, although up to then she had never heard of this problem. She wanted to have something sweet for me, too. What a find she is!
And George - he had such a fun sense of humor, and his drinks, well, that is something you'll miss once you are back at home.
We had such good laughs, enjoyed the pool at every time of the day (and night), sat in the shade of the palms and other trees, and always felt so very spoilt.
It's a pity it is such a long flight from Germany, or we'd go right back to this beautiful place and the wonderful hosts. Thank you, Ann and George, for making this vacation such a success!
