5.0 stars This was a beautiful, peaceful location with gracious hosts. Visited: December 2005

A few months after returning home, I am still amazed that we found such a peaceful haven in Barbados.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with good-sized terraces or balconies. There are no TVs or radios, which is very refreshing if the aim is to "get away from it all" and relax. Books abound in the rooms, and lounge area and there are plenty of quiet places to sit and enjoy a good read or the company of other guests.

The lounges and dining area are all open-air which makes the most of the wonderful Barbados weather and starry nights. There are lovely little personal touches in the decor all around the property.

The food is beautifully prepared, and the breakfast choice is extensive and includes wonderful bread freshly baked by the chef.

The honor bar where guests simply help themselves to drinks and mark down what they have is a lovely idea.

The pool beside the ocean is perfect and well-maintained. It is well-stocked with comfortable loungers and chairs. Additionally, there are gazebos nearby which provide shade. In front of the pool there is a sea rock swimming pool where it is possible to snorkel. Although, the hotel is situated on a rocky promontory, there are a couple of small beaches to either side and a much larger beach a little farther to the east within easy walking distance. For those, so inclined, there is wind-surfing, etc. very close by.

This was the most relaxed and peaceful hotel experience we have ever had. The owners, Margaret and Adrian, unobtrusively run the property to the highest standards of customer service. As well as Adrian conducting walking tours, they are unstintingly helpful and informative and the other guests we spoke to, like us, were most appreciative of the efforts they make to assure this beautiful property is a little piece of heaven for their guests.

A wonderful place to wind down and enjoy the beauty and serenity of this world, Peach and Quiet will be our first choice on any return trip to Barbados.

5.0 stars Return to paradise at Peach and Quiet. Visited: April 2004

We just returned from another wonderful week at Peach and Quiet. It was truly relaxing, and the food and ambiance cannot be beat.

Margaret and Adrian always do such a super job at making our stay an enjoyable one - from organizing outings to booking reservations for a dinner out. The food here was so good though, you really won't want to eat out!

This accommodation is highly recommended if you are looking for great value and a place that is a lot out of the ordinary. We will definitely be going back!

4.0 stars Peach and Quiet is everything you need and nothing you do not. Visited: October 2003

If you’re seeking a quiet haven from civilization while remaining very much civilized, you should consider a stay at the Peach and Quiet. Our stay in late October 2003 was one of the most serene and yet most affordable trips we’ve had in years.

We felt like honored guests of Adrian and Margaret Loveridge’s four-acre piece of heaven. The Loveridges seem have an almost preternatural instinct about the needs of each guest.

When we wanted to enjoy the view of the ocean and do a bit of snorkeling, it seemed as if the view and the natural pool were all our own. But when we wanted explore and learn about Barbados, Margaret scheduled everything we needed (even taking care to help us schedule our excursions to avoid sunburn).

And Adrian was a wealth of history and information about the country. A traditional beach was just a five-minute walk, and that meant we could get there quickly, but there weren’t loads of other tourists crowding us.

The honor bar was a nice touch for those who prefer not to have a costumed waiter serving $10 drinks. Just mix them yourself, mark the sheet, and you’ve paid little more for a cocktail than you would in your own home. The meals were wonderful and always included a vegetarian option.

The overall property and rooms were spacious and elegantly sparse in a tropical way. We found the scents of frangipani trees and handmade soaps enticing our senses rather than the blare of a radio, television, or telephone. There were even small collections of books in each room which prompted during our stay a literary discussion at dinner with other guests. (Bonus for us: no children are allowed at the Peach.)

We took advantage of the Summer Breeze package which included two days car rental, breakfast every day, several dinners, a snorkel tour, and dinner at Carambola, one of the island’s best restaurants. It was an incredible deal by any standards, but we felt like we were living like kings on usually-expensive Barbados.

If you want roaring air conditioning, a screaming “social director” leading a limbo line, and a tacked-on charge for every little thing, go to one of the big resorts on the West Coast. Or better yet, just go to Orlando. If you want to chill out and enjoy true island life, consider Peach and Quiet.

5.0 stars This place is a real "peach"! Visited: May 2003

I spent one wonderful, relaxing week at Peach and Quiet and have already booked to go back next year.

It was a charming, comfortable, simple, but nice accommodation. It was away from the crowds and not on the beach, but the rock pool out front had the most amazing snorkeling. There were two beaches just a short walk away - Silver Rocks and Silver Sands.

We also did the package and not only found it to be a great value, but it made for a very easy holiday. There was an honor bar which was a very welcome touch. The food was delicious and the owners, Margaret and Adrian, could not have been more helpful.

They were at present preparing all of the outside surfaces for painting, but that did not bother us. We will look forward to seeing an even more beautiful "Peach" when we return! It was an excellent location for real rest and relaxation. It is highly recommended if you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary!

2.0 stars Disappointing. Visited: April 2003

We only stayed here one night. We were a little miffed at the apparent renovations that where underway and not brought to our attention during our booking. The hotel was understaffed (2 or 3 people), apparently because we were the only guests that night. The room was nice, but all of the surrounding areas were in the midst of repair (if not shambles). We might have expected this if we had stayed during the off-season, but not the middle of April. Peach and Quiet has great potential, but is currently a disappointing sight. I can only suggest that you ask if the renovations are complete before spending your hard-earned money on a much awaited vacation.

5.0 stars A romantic and relaxing accommodation for an incredible value. Visited: July 2002

My wife and I had a fantastic honeymoon last summer at Peach and Quiet. If you are looking for comfort and relaxation in a beautiful, stress-free setting - you will find it here.

Margaret and Adrian were terrific hosts. Their Treasures package was easily one of the best values in all of the Caribbean. It included full breakfast every day, several dinners at the hotel, two-day care rental, a catamaran cruise, Malibu rum tour, and dinner at Carambola, which was an experience in and of itself.

Dinner at the hotel, prepared by Margaret, was served by candlelight outdoors in their courtyard.

The hotel hds a great, windswept location right on the sea, with a nice pool and also a protected rock pool in the ocean. Beaches were a short walk in either direction. There was also an honor bar and dinner wine list that were very reasonably priced. And we definitely recommend the guided walking tours of the spectacular East Coast given by Adrian.

I can't stress enough what a great value this intimate hotel was, especially on an island where most of the accommodations are incredibly expensive.

We could not have asked for a more memorable honeymoon.

5.0 stars Relaxation in Paradise! Visited: May 2001

We honeymooned at P&Q for 2 weeks in late May-early June, and had an absolutely amazing time. We stayed in the 'Passion' honeymoon suite that is right next to the pool and ocean. The room was large and had coffee and tea facilities. Our hosts Margaret and Adrian were so helpful to us in many, many ways. We were provided with snorkeling gear (we snorkeled almost every day in the natural rock pool just in front of the hotel), recommendations of tourist sites and restaurants, and Margaret cooked absolutely fabulous meals in the hotel restaurant.

We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the feel at this hotel. For travelers looking for a relaxed, QUIET, romantic holiday, this place is definitely for you. We were not interested in big parties or limbo nights-just in quiet romantic nights together.

We did the 'Treasures' package, which is definitely worth the money. We added up the individual prices for the things included in the package and came up with a figure much higher than the cost. Having a car rental for a few days allowed us to see all of Barbados, and dinner at Carambola was fantastic.

To sum it up: We can't wait to get back to P&Q. It was the most wonderful vacation ever!

My husband and I arrived in Barbados in search of a haven and we found it in the Peach and Quiet. The layout was fantastically artistic and something to see.

Our room was on the beachfront, giving us a spectacular view of the ocean. Each of the rooms had its own outdoor sitting room carved out of stone, simple and white.

The wine selection at dinner was surprisingly lengthy and affordable, not much above the retail prices.

The Peach and Quiet offered a full range of services which seemed intended to assist the guests and not so much for profit, such as the honor system bar, use of snorkelling gear at no cost, and much more. And of course, the very gracious Margaret (hostess) was always at hand to help make our stay wonderful.

As a final note, dinner was scrumptious.

5.0 stars Excellent and affordable hotel in a dramatic location. Visited: March 2000

We stayed for a week at the Peach & Quiet and had one of the best holidays we can remember.

The hotel was located slightly off the beaten track, but its situation was superb with a glorious pool overlooking the ocean. The rooms were spacious, very clean and simply furnished and the atmosphere extremely relaxing.

Margaret runs the hotel and is a superb hostess. She was always ready to provide recommendations for restaurants or places to visit and her advice was always extremely accurate.

We had chosen the 'Treasures' package which included 2 days car hire, a catamaran cruise, trips around rum factories, dinner in the superb Carambola restaurant and entry into a number of museums and sights on the island. It also included 4 dinners at Peach & Quiet and breakfast every day. We were even presented with an 'introductory' bottle of rum to welcome us when we arrived. We cannot recommend this package highly enough.

We had not visited Barbados before and this provided just the right mixture of activity and relaxation as well as giving us a real flavour of what the island has to offer. We also felt that this was an excellent value for our money and made the best of Barbados affordable.

The food at the hotel was also wonderful, plentiful buffet breakfasts (with freshly baked bread every day) and a choice of dinners, cooked superbly. The wine list was also very impressive and an extremely good value.

We would recommend this hotel highly to people who want to avoid the all-inclusive resorts and prefer to explore on their own. We can't wait to return some time.
