An excellent holiday Visited: July 2000 |

My husband, teenage daughter and myself have just returned from a 2 week holiday at Club Rockley. We couldn't have wished for a better holiday.
We stayed in the Orange Hill rooms which had their own swim-up pool bar which was very nice. All the staff were extremely nice and helpful and the service was very quick at all times.
The food, particularly that at the 'a la carte' restaurants, was excellent.
The courtesy bus to the beach took no more than 10 minutes, was no problem and well worth it. The lovely sandy beach had plenty to do; a nice bar and restaurant for lunch, which then transformed into a lovely 'a la carte' restaurant in the evening which served absolutely delicious meals.
Everywhere on the golf course looked clean and bright and the gardens were well cared for. Thoroughly recommend it. We went on excellent trips also, particularly the catamaran trip and the 4 x 4 safari trip.

Good holiday - but have had better Visited: April 2000 |

My husband, son (age 7) and I stayed for two weeks at Club Rockley. We had a good holiday but have definitely had better. We stayed in the Hillside Rooms which were quite a bit of a walk back and forth to the main areas, but needed the exercise after lying by the pool each day!!
Bit of pain having to get the courtesy bus back and forward to the beach.
The rooms were adequate but a little on the small side for the three of us, although the balconies which had been described as small were in fact tiny - couldn't accommodate three people on them at one time. We did not have a view over the golf course due to palm trees and vegetation in the way.
We had a nice pool at the Hillside Rooms but it wasn't for the exclusive use of the Hillside Rooms as the brochure mentioned.
The food was okay - children not allowed in the 'a la carte' which was disappointing. Food at the beach restaurant was very nice but the service was a little slow.
Plenty of kids staying so my son made lots of friends and had a great time. The kids club could have done with getting their act together - not very organized and a bit of a way out if staying on the Hillside.
Some staff were friendly (bar staff mainly but especially Shirley at the pool bar), but the waiting-on staff in the restaurants could have cheered up a little. Again, the receptionists were on the miserable side as well - not a good thing really when they are your first contact upon arrival.
We were unable to keep our room upon the day of departure and therefore used a courtesy room (a standard one - which was in definite need of refurbishing).
Good holiday - but I'm afraid we won't be going back to this resort. Barbados on the whole is great though.

A nice place in a nice atmoshpere Visited: December 1969 |

I have been to Club Rockley 2 times in the past year and am currently planning my 3rd trip. Being a world traveler, I can accurately say that Club Rockley is one of the nicer resorts that I've stayed in. There are some rooms which are in shabby condition but the newer rooms are rather large and spacious. The staff is as friendly to you as you are to them.
The shuttle to the beach runs regularly and is no hassle at all. Bridgetown is a $10 taxi trip away and there are many sites in close range. The entertainment leaves something to be desired but there are many nightclubs in the area.
Overall, I recommend Club Rockley for anyone looking for a friendly, no hassle vacation.

Friendly, sports-oriented family resort Visited: December 1969 |

The accommodation and food are more than adequate and the location on a golf course is excellent The one thing that 'makes' Rockley is the staff. They are friendly, accommodating and their main aim appears to be helping all guests enjoy their stay. Having been two years running we can say that the second year was even better than the first. This says a lot for Rockley and the team. We are also returning this year!

Come and be spoiled!! Visited: December 1969 |

Contrary to what I had heard, I found the most pleasing thing about Club Rockley to be its polite and courteous staff. I left feeling that every effort was made to help make my stay both relaxing and entertaining. Although it must be said that night time entertainment could sometimes be slightly dodgy and unappealing.
Club Rockley is a sports lovers dream. The nine hole golf course was both challenging and fun and the watersports down at the beach were terrific.
The accommodation was adequate, Orange Hill's apartments being set in a lovely location close to the swim-up bar and overlooking the first and second fairways. The air-conditioning may have been a little loud but ensured comfort at night that was most welcome.
All in all, Club Rockley was a fantastic place to visit provided you enjoy sports, refreshing cocktails and being pampered.

A family with toddlers nightmare Visited: December 1969 |

We recently checked out of Club Rockley the day after we checked in!
The staff on reception were particularly unhelpful especially the lady who appeared to be trying to coordinate the hotel. After a three hour wait in the heat with a 19-month old toddler, we were hurried on to a golf buggy for transfer to our hillside room.
The hillside room was less than adequate; it was dingy with a tiny balcony and a dirty bathroom with only two bath towels (and no hand towels) provided. We requested extra towels but these failed to materialize.
The room was a 10 minute walk from the main clubhouse although golf buggies were supposed to transfer us down, however as soon as they saw anybody with a baby buggy approaching they sped off and it was easier and quicker to walk.
The room did not have the cot we requested and lacked the space to put up the travel cot we had taken (just in case) resulting in our baby sleeping in one of the beds with me. Unfortunately, he fell out of the bed in the middle of the night and injured his back.
The restaurant in the main complex served worse food than I had in school. We were not allowed to take a toddler to the "a la carte" restaurants and had to take the buggy up a steep staircase every time we wished to eat.
Do not believe that Club Rockley had a baby sitting service, this was for 2 year olds and above which they neglect to tell you on the web site and in the brochures. So we had no chance to visit the "a la carte" restaurants had we have stayed.
The wait staff were particularly miserable; we asked for a glass of wine at the beginning of the meal and finally got it with our dessert.
We checked out the following afternoon and had a lovely holiday at another hotel on the island.

Pleasant but nothing special Visited: December 1969 |

A week at Club Rockley was quite enough. The rooms were particularly disappointing. We refused the first one offered and the second wasn't much better. The food was nice in the "a la carte" restaurant but the staff were rude and dismissive. I would not return to this hotel. Our holiday was ok, but I'm glad to be home.

Home away from home in Barbados Visited: December 1969 |

Having stayed at Club Rockley for the past 5 years and travelling back again this year, I would recommend it to anybody. Especially the staff make you come back year-after-year with their excellent ability to make you feel ever so welcome.
Particularly recommended for sport enthusiasts with classes in golf and tennis for the beginner. The food is varied and of good standard. Evening entertainment is also of a good standard with a couple of great bands playing all the different soca tunes. Although the disco is only open some three nights a week, it at times, especially when the local people join, is a welcome retreat for the early hours of the morning.
The beach, which is a 5-minute free bus ride away, is clean with great bar staff looking after all your drinking needs. Recommended to anybody, being single, travelling as a family or a group of friends!
