This must be one of the nicest resorts on AC. Visited: March 2003 Posted by joebass66 We stayed at Banyan Bay in March of 2003. We had one of the oceanfront units, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen, living room, and a spacious balcony looking out at the ocean. It was very nice for sure. The condo had everything we needed, and the jacuzzi in the master bath was a nice bonus. The maids brought us fresh bottled water every day, which was great. Overall, the staff was excellent, and very warm and friendly. The grounds were well kept, and had a great tropical feel. The pool was quite nice as well. AC is not known for its beaches, but Banyan Bay was definitely on one of the best stretches by far. The walk to town wasn't too bad (about 20 minutes), but you definitely should rent a golf cart for the week...lot's of fun. Rico's (on-site) was very good for any meal. We had breakfast there, and also one dinner. We were very happy both times. There isn't a whole lot of luxury to be found on AC, but Banyan Bay comes in at one of the top resorts for sure, along with Victoria House. 3 users found this review helpful. 0 found this review unhelpful. Our Villa had two bedrooms with two full baths, a living room, dining area and kitchen, not to mention a porch looking over the tranquil azure waters. The master suite included a king-sized bed with a large closet and plenty of drawer space. The master bath had a jacuzzi and stand up shower along with his and her sinks. The second bedroom had a smaller closet and the bathroom had a tub with shower and vanity. The kitchen had all the comforts of home including a toaster, coffee maker, microwave, stove and full size refrigerator. Along with the daily maid service, we received a daily water service, which although it was not advertised, was a pleasant surprise. The grounds were well kept with beautiful tropical foliage. We enjoyed a tranquil dip in the three-tiered pool and relaxed with a favorite book in a beachside hammock. Above all, even if you don't dive, please don't miss out on the snorkeling. The marine life was incredible. Even for the novice, there were wonderful guided tours that were worth every dollar spent. Rico's Bar and Grille served breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cuisine was wonderful and even catered to my 8-year old's particular tastes. For a change in pace, we highly recommend a trip or two into town.
