This quaint new ecological jungle resort is nestled up in the Maya
Mountains providing a scenic retreat for nature lovers. It's
comfortable with a homey feel of a bed and breakfast. The villas have
front and back decked verandahs, breakfast nook, ceiling fans (no air-conditioning), bush-wood furniture, shower, and has room and veranda service. Sorry, no television. You won't miss it though, not with a gorgeous view of the sunset from your verandas, the on-sight tours and adventure packages.
The villas are near nature parks, butterfly farms, caves and
maya sites (two hours away from Caracol, the largest known maya site in
Belize and 90 minutes from the Maya site of Tikal, the most developed
ruin in Peten, Guatemala) so you'll never be bored. There is a
full-service thatched-roof restaurant on the premises with delicious
local dishes and a bar. Mayaland also offers laundry, postal and fax
services.
Mayaland can arrange half day tours to Xunantunich, Cahal Pech or El
Pilar Maya sites, Maya medicinal trails, butterfly farms and nature
rainforest trails, and full day tours to Tikal, Caracol, Mountain Pine
Ridge forest reserve--home of the Hidden Valley Falls, Jaguar reserve,
Che Chem Ha Caves and Barton Creek Cave, as well as canoe rides,
horseback riding, cave tubing, hikes, snorkeling and scuba diving at the
Barrier Reef.
