Clear View is a hidden gem. Visited: November 2004

We stayed here with four adult family members and there was room for many more. It was half way between St. George and Hamilton. There was also a market nearby.

In addition, the staff was very helpful. And, for off season, the rooms were comfortably warm. There were no beaches nearby, but we had a beautiful view of the ocean.

We've been to BDA five times. The first two years we stayed at Clear View. They are very nice people, and very accommodating.

The rooms are slightly outdated, but cozy once you're settled in. The view is excellent - right on top of the ocean, with beautiful sunsets every night. The pool is small, salt water, but nice- as long as you have it to yourself which we did the first year. The second year there were screaming kids in it, so we stayed away.

The restaurant is extremely over priced.

We would've gone back a third time (and maybe more) but here's what happened. They told us that cockroaches are common on the island. And I believe that's true because they had little glass ones in the Blown Glass Shop. But they shouldn't be common at the hotel.

I don't mind running through them on the grass every night trying to get to our rooms amongst the crunching...but one night i saw one run across my bed...and i couldnt sleep the rest of the week. Its a shame because the hotel is at a perfect location. 20mins from St Geo or Hamilton, nice walking on the RR trail, sincere owners...but i couldnt handle the bugs.
still, id recomend it for anyone looking to avoid spending $280+ a night.
