5.0 stars Harbour Village Beach Club is absolutely wonderful. Visited: August 2006

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Harbour Village. My husband and my son were impressed with the surroundings of Bonaire (and the hotel as well).

We were told that the hotel was completely booked for that week, and I must confess that at some point we felt a little disapointment because we wanted a quiet place to stay. To our surprise, we were not disturbed at any moment by the crowd. We only saw how many people were staying there at the moment of departure.

My son loved the beach. It belongs to the hotel, so you have all the comfort at your hand. Our accommodation was a beautiful one-bedroom suite, and the staff was really nice.

Guess where are we going next summer!

If you hate clear, perfect water with tons of fish and cool pink flamingos, don’t come to Bonaire. Bonaire has a very unique beauty, and I love this island. Don’t expect a tropical island with miles of white sandy beaches, either.

However, Harbor Village really did have one of the best beaches on the island. Please remember you are in the Caribbean, so don’t expect to get everything you can get in a regular city at your local Wal-Mart.

Things every Bonaire traveler must do: dive, snorkel or something that lets you see what is under the water around this island. Also, please visit Bon Pizza and Casablanca for yummy meals. If you can rent a scooter and ride the whole island, take water and extra water with you everywhere. It never seemed like we had enough!

In addition, wear sun block, even if you don’t think you need it. Don’t bring nylons or fancy clothes, either. If you want to dress up on Bonaire, wear a Gap polo and khaki shorts.

I suggest that if you are renting a vehicle or scooter, do it at the beginning of your trip so that you can plan on spending more time another day at the places the interested you most during your ride. It does not take long to travel the island on a scooter, six hours maybe. And again, bring lots of water on these rides.

I saw what I think was a donkey, and lots of them. They were so cute. I also saw lots of beautiful pink flamingos up close. It was so cool to see such an odd bird in person, and in such large quantities.

I do believe I had the best lasagna in my life at Bon Pizza (it was very spicy - just how I like it). The pizza was great, too. Casablanca was a Brazilian restaurant, with large portions. I suggest sharing a meal, then get an appetizer with drinks. The owner of Casablanca was always there, would recommend wines, helped get us seated, and checked on us frequently. The front cashier was cool, too.

My massage at Harbor Village was awesome. I had a cute, short woman who did not speak much English give me a massage. It was so quiet, relaxing and calm.

The resort was really quiet, and I rarely saw people during the day. It made everything we did so peaceful, quiet and stress-free. Walks around the harbor and beach were so nice, I felt like I had this cool resort to myself.

We are in the process of planning our return vacation to Harbor Village in 2007. We can’t wait to return.

This was a great place to bring a partner or a friend for a relaxing time. They had beautiful rooms, and it was in a great location. The staff was very helpful.

Some areas were closed (fitness room, second restaurant). However, most amenities were great (such as free Internet access).

This property offers it all, with beautiful water in which to swim and snorkel. They have wonderful accommodations, helpful staff and a nice location.

And if you like to be in touch with nature and have complete serenity - this is the place. If you want a party atmosphere, go elsewhere.

5.0 stars Beautiful Property, Friendly Staff, Amazing Diving. Visited: September 2001

My husband and I just returned from an 8-day stay at Bonaire's Harbour Village Beach Resort. We have nothing but good things to say about this resort.

The staff at Harbour Village was friendly and attentive. Our room was just a standard room with a beach view, but it was lovely.

We purchased a dive package and it was amazing. The dive shop staff was great—very knowledgeable and helpful. The rental equipment was nice quality and well maintained.

The beach was one of the nicest on the island, although there was a lot of washed up coral near the waterline. There was nice shade beneath the palm trees if you wanted to escape the intense sunshine.

We only visited the spa on one occasion, but it was also in nice condition. The Harbour Village spa offers a great variety of massage packages and spa treatments.

Our only complaint would be the food. The food was average, but consistent with the food at the other restaurants on the island. On the whole, we did not find the dining on Bonaire to be that spectacular, although the fish was always fresh.

For great diving and a relaxing vacation I highly recommend Harbour Village. It was definitely a 5-star property!

5.0 stars The Benchmark for Caribbean Vacations Visited: January 2000

The Harbour Village is the resort by which I measure all Caribbean vacations. I travel frequently to the Caribbean and feel like the Harbour Village offers the best combinations of amenities, structural beauty, food and service that I have found in the Caribbean.

The beautiful, well-maintained rooms open up to a porch that is right on the beach. The set-up could not be more convenient. The dive shop is exceptional, just steps away from the room, and the diving itself is the best that I have found in the Caribbean.

The hotel staff provides service well beyond any that we have encountered, and the food was exceptional.

If you are a diver, I cannot imagine a better vacation than staying at the Harbour Village, letting the dive shop operators take you to see the best dive sites in the Caribbean, enjoying an afternoon on a beautiful beach, enjoying world class dining at the resort in the evening, and sitting out under the stars on your porch watching the sun set in the evening.

This resort is world class and receives my highest recommendation.

This was an excellent hotel and spa. There was only one small swimming pool, but a beautiful beach and wonderful dive services on-site. The open-air restaurants were wonderful. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and the service was superior.
